Wonderful beer. Really close to our home. Love the location in the industrial SE area. Great selection of different styles of beer. No real food. A couple of food trucks. Cool outside seating area. Only gripe is that the service can be chilly borderlining the ‘too cool for school’ type. Little old for that.

I am not a fan of fad brewing(e.g., berry infused saison with a hint of anise) so this place is great! They brew some solid microbrews! I am quite the fan of picking up a growler of their Ginormous IPA. It is close to Reed College and has more seating outside than in. Check it out the next time you are in the area. OHMY! In researching for this review I just discovered they publish their beer recipes on their website. Talk about promoting local homebrewing. Nicely done folks!

Gigantic Brewing makes a pretty solid IPA, very few bars/restaurants carry Gigantic, if you happen to be in the area, come check this place out. It’s not a place to come and have dinner, they have a few light snacks or you can pick up some tacos at the taco truck or if they have a food truck on spot. The seating is limited inside. Spring and summer, would be a great time to swing by, as they have communal tables outside. I really like the Ume Umai, which has flavors of black rice and plums, an interesting beer, if you’re up for something different. There’s not much around, and if you don’t feel like trekking over, pick up their beer if you’re at the grocery store, as they do make one of the best IPA’s in town. They fill growlers, and unfortunately won’t do corny kegs.

We came on a Friday night, and there was only1 person behind the bar. Luckily, gracious patrons would take tuns bussing tables and refilling g her glassware. The beers were amazing PIPEWRENCH! Also there was a guest cider that was amazing.

We’re here for the beer. Gigantic makes great brews, from a fine IPA to brews with plums and black rice – they cover a wide range of styles & strengths in their 8(is that all?) taps. Excellent service here. The building itself is quirky and small, but pleasant outdoor area as weather permits.

Despite what another reviewer has reviewed about Gigantic Brewing Company I find it’s an okay place to review and I’m not afraid of dogs. They have pretty good beer and some good dogs are running around having a great time! Good dog!!! The beers are all over the place, mostly good but not as good as the dogs I find running freely about the patio! Who needs a leash when you have some good brews, some good buddies and some good olé doggies!!! Haven’t tried the food but some of the doggies thought it smelled cool. I considered a french fry and I’m not afraid of dogs. Coulda made some real buddies if I did order the food because as you may have guessed: Dogs like that. While some dogs are on leashes I’m not afraid of those that aren’t. Usually if they need to be on a leash then they stay home and watch tv instead of freaking out bar patrons. Or they are kept on a leash so that bar patrons who are afraid of dogs can chill out. If I were an actual dog I’d probably love this place.

Food wasn’t very tasty and the staff was rude and beer isn’t great either. Called receptionist and she hung on me. Classy establishment.

Nice selection of styles, IPA-sentric as to be expected, from both NW geography and name. Outdoor seating is nice, though located in industrial/commercial area. Had the Uma Umai, black rice and plum beer, friend had gin barrel aged IPA; both great. Uma Umai had a touch of sweetness with great plum and sweet rice notes. Gin IPA was smoother than expected with lots of juniper and lemon in the nose. Balanced malt/hop with oaky mellowness hiding the alcohol. Bottles and growler fills of most beers, snacks and merch. All in all a nice little brew pub with well above average beers, even for Portland.

5 stars because the Gigantic IPA is pretty tasty and I just had a great time here. I went here for a Meetup after work and the outside seating area is perfect for a great day outside. Otherwise, I can see how things may be a lil tight seating-wise. After being in PDX for almost a week, I think I’ve realized that there’s going to be an infinite number of breweries, donut places, coffee places, etc, etc. And because the list is so infinite, there’s almost now a peace of knowing that there’s no way I’m going to be able to check them all out. Haha. But Gigantic is a great place that I will remember!

Great beer! No food, so don’t come expecting to have dinner. But he outdoor seating is good and the inside ambiance is fun. I enjoyed the kolschtastic beer which was light at only 5%. There are a lot of IPAs on tap as well.

Yummy beer, great brewers. We first visited Gigantic last summer and really liked it. Lots of different beers on tap but I always love their IPAS. It gets pretty busy when the weather’s nice but there’s a good amount of outdoor seating. We met one of the brewers and his lady at Oakland’s beerfest back in January and they were such awesome people. Def. one of the tops in Portland!

Probably my favorite brewery stop in Portland. The taproom was smaller and the beers were excellent. I had the umai umi black rice and um beer. This beer was really tasty and had a great flavor. I would definitely be back here again, great stop!

I have grown very fond of Gigantic beer. I like all of the brews I’ve tried and I tend to pick them up and/or order them more than any other brand in Oregon. They are defiantly in my top 5 for North American breweries. My #1 spot is held for 3 Floyds which sounds like it doesn’t apply for this business but when I finally made the trip over to Gigantic brewery I found they have a collaboration with 3 Floyds and I seriously lost my sh*t. Which, if you know the company, is a big f*ing deal because last I checked, they were not really interested in distributing outside of Indiana and metro Chicago. It was so amazing, unfortunately there were no bottles left and so I cried myself to sleep w/a growler of it in hand because I have no way of knowing if it will be there for me to enjoy in the future.

Chronically understaffed. Long lines. Beer is a tad pricy. They have a unique location(near Reed College) and there really aren’t other bars nearby. Given this captive audience, they don’t feel the need to hire more staff. This is the third and final time I’ll come here.

One of our favorite IPA’s. Even if you are not a fan of IPA’s, Gigantic has a brew that is not bitter, but aromatic, with citrus notes. We keep meaning to go to Gigantic more often, but with so many other breweries and other beer to taste, we don’t get around to. There’s a nice worn out leather couch to sit inside. With the weather warming up, we’ve seen the garage door open with full tables outside. It’s a bit off the beaten path in an Industrial district, but worth searching for.

Having recently moved(back) to Portland, I did a whirlwind tour of as many breweries I could find in the Greater Portland Metro area as I was determined to find a «favorite» brewery as quickly as possible. I have adopted Gigantic Brewing Company as my favorite. Hands down. Bar none. 100. With the help of my friends we made quick work of their entire lineup and were very happy with every single one. The Saboteur Porter, Gin Barrel Aged IPA were my favorites and are a must try for everyone — especially those that do not normally like Porters or IPAs. Every time I have been there, there has been a line for the bar running out the door with only one extremely nice lady behind the bar. This and the fact that they do not serve food are the only drawbacks. Two drawbacks that still would not be able to knock a star off this review. Dog friendly. Picnic tables out front. If you can score the leather chairs inside, do not hesitate. They are fantastic. There is also a taco truck parked around the corner with fantastic $ 1 tacos. Can’t think of anything else noteworthy. Just go and enjoy some sunshine and beer.

Good beer, not 5 star imho, but good. And the place smells like hops! Awesome! Growler fills are a good price. Outside seating is great l, especially on this wonderful day in Juneuary. As a 55 year old I really was digging the music they were playing, Stones, Janis Joplin, Hendrix. Some great 60’s shit.

So I FINALLY made it to Gigantic Brewing Company. After drinking their bottled IPA time and time again, I thought it was a must and visit the actually brewery. My thoughts you may ask… Meh, it was ok. I wish I could say more than just«meh, it was ok.» I guess after reading the reviews I thought I was missing out on something. Turns out that was not the case. Their options seem limited and I didn’t even know they had bar snacks available — oi vei! I’ll just stick to purchasing my bottled brew from the local convenience store, because let’s be honest, their beer is delicious but not that delicious that I need to head to the brewery each time I’m craving their Gigantic IPA.

I’m a Gigantic fan. Their flagship IPA is quite good and worthy of the Gigantic name. The tasting room is a little hard to locate, but your GPS will get you there. The main room has a lodge feel to it with a nice bar with cool artwork on the walls. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Since Gigantic only promises their IPA all the time, you will need to try their other lineup, and I suggest going for a flight so you can taste them all, and not wasted a pint on one you might regret. I enjoyed the Sodbusted Simcoe Fresh Hop quite a big and the High Fidelity Pale was solid. The Future is now Amber was just okay, and the TicWitic Sour Wit collaboration was interesting to say the least/yeast :) The female bartender was friendly enough, and the patrons I met were friendly. This place down South of Portland makes a good stop enroute to other nearby beer places like Beermongers or Apex. Cheers.
