I needed to get my rear suspension checked out so I decided to make an appointment here after seeing some good reviews. I came in on a Thursday and they were able to get me in the following Tuesday.
I brought my car in at 8 AM and by 9 I received a call explaining what was going on and what they needed to do. I needed new struts. I was worried about the cost because I had seen prices on line of close to $ 800. I was very relieved when he quoted me a price around $ 400.
I called back an hour or so later and asked if they could also do an oil change while they had it. They said that wouldn’t be a problem at all. I picked up my car later that day and am very happy with the service. Everyone I dealt with here was very courteous and friendly. I would definitely recommend this shop to other people. This will be my new spot to bring my car if any other problems arise.

So far so good! Needed a steering fluid reservoir replaced and they did it while I waited. It started leaking the next day so I called and they told me to bring it back right away. It was fixed and running like a top asap. Went a couple months later with a couple «mystery» issues that would come and go. They weren’t able to diagnose them but also didn’t make any unnecessary repairs. These guys get an A+ for being honest. Will go there again for sure.

This auto shop is always willing to help and offer the best advice. If I am having car trouble, Gary’s is my go to spot!

These guys are so HONEST and wonderful. I brought in a car I inherited — so I didn’t know its history. I told them I expected a lot of maintenance work. Now I was clearly a customer others would take advantage of. Not these folks. They checked everything out and informed me that the prior owner had taken great care of the car and all it needed was an oil change. Wow! And they charged me very little. All I can say is that we are lucky to have Gary’s Auto Service in the area.

To begin, my father is an engineer and lifelong mechanic. it’s hard to imagine my car in anyone else’s hands, but I’ve moved cross country — so he is available only for consultation. he set the bar high though.
I’ve had a couple issues with my car since being in Portland and was referred to go here for repair and servicing. I will never go anywhere else. Bill and Anita do honest, high quality work, at a very good price. I have never been anything but in awe of how pleased I am to do business with Gary’s Automotive Service. They go the extra step because it’s right, not to gouge the customers. They are always pleasant, quick, and easy to trust because they’re genuine.
I’ll only ever bring my car here, even if it’s a bit out of the way for me.

Bill was the best! I showed up for an early appointment for new brakes and he dropped me off the Clackamas Town Center while he worked on my car. A few hours later, he called to give me an estimate and was so patient and helpful in figuring out a price that would work and gave me an honest evaluation of the work I needed done. He was very thoughtful and understanding. I spent the day at the mall shopping then Bill picked me up and my car has been running great. Honest service, great price.

I have been using Gary’s (now owned by Bill) Automotive for years and have always loved the work that they do here. Most recently I took my car in to get the brake pads and roters replaced. They did the work quickly and did an excellent job as always. If you are on the east side and need work done this is the place to take your car.
