Foster Fitness Center

I was looking for a trainer and came across Noël Fuller at Foster Fitness. I have been a fan since day one. This is a gym, not a meet and greet place where people want to show off their new gym fashion. From the first day it has been pure training with a highly professional trainer. On top of it Noël is super friendly, easy going and listens to you. If you are serious about real fitness training check out Foster Fitness!!!

I just joined this gym, and I love it! Prices are good, staff is friendly, and it’s not too crowded. There are no classes offered and most people at the gym are extremely fit, so it might not be the best place for those who don’t have experience with weight training, unless you want personal training sessions. I would definitely recommend this gym!

Awesome gym, great owner, great guys and girls working out, famous Brazilian jiu jitsu gym next door. Doesn’t get much better!

I was looking to get into Body Building, but I really did not know what that meant. I began to look for a trainer and Noël came as a recommendation from a friend. I walked into his gym (about 7 weeks ago) looking for some answers and I scored big time! He is very professional and answered all my questions. First and foremost, he asked what I wanted.
If you are looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear or give you a cookie cutter workout plan, Noël is not for you. He is a very upfront, honest, no BS kind of guy, which I find quite refreshing.
I have been training with him for several weeks and it’s been intense. My body is already changing. Noël definitely knows what he is doing and I am glad I found him. I will hit the stage next year with this guys help. Thanks Noël!

I was introduced to Foster Fitness through a Groupon, and I am grateful to Groupon for introducing me to a new gym I might not have otherwise visited. Foster Fitness is a warm, friendly neighborhood gym and my 30 minute training session was INTENSE.
Unlike gym chains where you pay $ 80 for a 50 minute cookie cutter variety workout that every client gets a variant of with a chunk of it warming up on a treadmill and a chunk of it on a foam roller — things you could do on your own for free, with Noël, he asks YOU what YOU would like to train and work on.
I said I wanted to train my lower body and oh my word, did I get a leg workout of the century! He pushed me to my limits and slightly beyond with around 30 second breaks between each set. My legs were SPAGHETTI afterward — love that! No pussyfoot trainer here — it’s obvious that Foster Fitness is where the bodybuilders in Portland go.
I love Foster Fitness and will continue my sessions with Noël with or without a Groupon. Thanks Buddy!

This gym is an excellent neighborhood gym. Noël Fuller is a great trainer and has taught me so much. The people are friendly and all in all it’s a cool place to work out!

This gym is a warm, welcoming place. Noël is a very professional trainer who runs a clean gym. He cares about his clients and is happy to help support their goals. It is never over-​crowded here and has a great community feel.

This place rocks. Walked in and was working out within ten minutes: owner was willing to negotiate a membership plan that worked for me, no BS, no forced tour, no attempt to push personal training (I’m looking at you, 24 Hour Fitness, LA Fitness, etc.).
The gym has no frills, no gimmicks; if you want a TV on your treadmill so you can more effectively waste your time, this isn’t the place for you. It has all of the equipment and machines you need to get a great workout, though, if that’s your thing.

Yep, definitely a no-​frills gym… which is perfect. Lots of free weights and a big, open space where you don’t feel crowded, esp. at night. There’s lots of fun characters who are regulars, but no pressure to socialize. Dave, the usual night staff, is a great guy and really helpful. There’s often fun sideline stuff going on, be it Capoeira, Mixed Martial Arts, or Strongman training. If you want to sit in a sauna after your elliptical training, or scope out gym bunnies, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a place to throw some iron around without the pressure to wear anything other than your street clothes, Jungle Gym is hard to beat.

Jungle Gym is a no frills kind of place. I mean really no frills. If you looking for the type of amenities found at 24 Hour Fitness, it ain’t for you. It seems to have gotten steadily better over the years, though: it’s been quite a while now since the men’s washroom ran out of soap.
It does have all the free weights and machines that you will need for your workout, though, and at a very reasonable price. And what else do you need, after all?
There are plenty of personal trainers around too, should you so desire. And a few other programs, like grappling.
I kind of miss the Strong Men, though. it was always a kick to see them flipping over those massive tractor tires.
