I would recommend you immediately find another dentist if you’re referred to this office. I was referred for a redo of a root canal. Initially worked with Dr. Richard Raymond who has since relocated to Georgia. I had to reschedule two appointments. I did so days in advance, as per their policy, and due to an upper resp infection and TMG issue that would not allow me to open my mouth large enough to perform the procedure. The office had also rescheduled my appointment twice with less than 24 hours notice due to the dentist’s flight being late and another day he wouldn’t be in the office for an undisclosed reason. Then they called me three times in one day to discuss an appointment I had the following day, first they wanted to change the time, I wasn’t able to accommodate that, then they said fine keep the original time and then they said the dentist was leaving the practice for Georgia and he wasn’t keeping the appointment and I needed to be scheduled with a different dentist within the group, a Dr. Todd Mellin. I made this appointment and the day of that appointment my pressure tank for our well failed, flooding the basement and leaving me with no water. You cannot make this stuff up. It seemed like I was not meant to have this procedure. Thankfully I wasn’t in pain. I called the office to reschedule and they told me that the dentist was demanding a 30% payment even though my insurance paid 90% of my procedure. She cited the cancellations as the reason. I told her I gave them adequate notice, even more than they had given me and quite frankly as many times as they had rescheduled with me!!! So I clarified that the dentist wanted to over charge me and tie my money up waiting for a reimbursement until insurance paid their portion. She essentially said yes!!! I don’t even know if that’s legal!!! to knowingly overcharge a patient and have their hard earned money tied up until their office get paid by insurance and then gets around to reimbursing you??? I think not. I then called my dentist for another referral to a different dentist. This has been a two and a half month process.
