I returned to yoga practice when I retired a year ago. Fortunately, one of the first classes I attended was with Emily Light. Light is a great last name for Emily as light radiates from her as she teaches, chants, guides us into yoga poses. She starts each class with some thoughts about the practice of yoga, then we spend a few minutes in silence and then she chants and we can join In as we wish… it is lovely. Emily teaches a Hatha style which focuses upon gradual transition between poses and really working to be in the posture and feel it. She offers gentle guidance, suggests props to help and always gives us alternatives… if we want more challenge or a little less. I have injured myself in the past moving too fast and hard in yoga and have repeatedly had to take breaks from my practice. I am so glad to be practicing again and Emily teaches yoga In a manner I know I can stay with far into the future. Thanks, Emily, for bringing me back to a practice that shows me benefits every day!
