I freaking looooooooooove this place. Tacos and margaritas are the only thing I’m decisive about eating and this place seriously has the best tacos in the area. Also great service! If you can get a table in this small but popular place, you won’t be sorry.

Best Mexican place in town. The burritos are the best and authentic. The staff is incredible and the service is very quick. Honestly if you haven’t been here then you are missing out on a hidden gem! My favorite is the fajita asada burrito and they will put it in a whole wheat tortilla if you’re feeling healthy!

You know, I really like the food here. But I just got a to go order and their boxes are so cheap that the plastic melted and broke into my food, making it inedible. Not happy. This is the type of thing that is so frustrating that I will probably think again before going there.

Super good food at great prices. It’s fresh real food that is better priced than most fast food. The tacos rock. I always get carne asada tacos.

Tasty, quick, affordable Mexican food in a nifty little corner bar. Among the many nice things I can say: …the kitchen is open late so it’s a good spot for the late-night eats(which, as I said, are delicious). …it’s a bargain! …it’s fast as lightning. I said«I’d like the cheese enchil – » and before I could finish ordering, BLAM, they were served up piping hot. Well, I’m exaggerating, but still: fast fast fast, and fresh fresh fresh. Yep yep yep. …super cool folks working here; special word of thanks to the nice guy who gave me back the fancy schmancy water bottle that I accidentally left there the night before.

I went in on a Saturday night. They had a big boxing match and a Cubs game on, and there were still several seats in the restaurant and at the bar. I was alone so I sat at the bar and I was only a few sips into my beer when my food arrived. Fast, delicious, and cheap! The one bartender was a but busy serving EVERYONE by himself but he remained very polite and collected. I’ll be back.

The salsa is frickin good. Does anything else matter? If it does you’ll be pleased to know that the burritos are great for the price and if you don’t see it posted, ask about the special… chances are it will be amazing!

Very delicious and affordable meal. You can get some pretty good Mexican food for very cheap that will fill you up. Go in and order at the counter and sit down; they will bring the food to you. They have huge burritos for about $ 5. They also got tacos, tortas, enchiliadas,…the whole deal. They also have a happy hour and couple specials so you should see what they have when you go in. They also serve alcohol along with other soft drinks. My favorite so far is the Carne Asada Azteca Burrito. It has great flavor and the meat is so tender. You get good portion of protein and fillings. The Machaca burrito is more of a breakfast burrito but can have it anytime. There is egg as well as the usual fillings. Also ordered horchata but it wasn’t that good. The machine was stuck from the rice. Usually when you make horchata you should strain the rice out. They left the rice in and the drink was grainy. At least they make it themselves and its not store bought. They have a little salsa cart section where you help yourself. They have chiles, onions, salsas, and all that good stuff that you can eat with your meal. I recommend coming here for a easy, fast, and cheap meal that will satisfy your hunger and leave you wanting more. I will definitely be coming back often to try the rest of the menu.

I’ve been here twice, and while the first time around my experience was less than stellar, I gave it a second try and was not disappointed. El Burrito Azteca serves burritos(and a few other things) that check all the boxes I’m looking for in a burrito. TASTE The burritos mix tastes of all the ingredients very well. Each ingredient is well-cooked and you can taste it without it being overwhelming. I especially liked the freshness of the green peppers in the fajita burrito. SPEED In, ordered, and out with takeout in about 7 minutes. They weren’t very busy though – the first time I was here they were slammed and it took closer to 12 minutes. Either way, really efficient. PRICE About $ 5 for a burrito. Can’t beat that deal! Also comes with free salsa, limes etc. from their salsa bar. If you’re looking for a good speedy Mexican meal, El Burrito Azteca has you covered.

Frankly this place is just as good as Por Que Non with no wait and half the price. And the employees are friendlier.

I love this place! The owner is so nice and remembers you every time, the guys at the cash register are fast and courteous as well. The Mexican food at this restaurant is my favorite. There’s consistency in food quality and consistency in service. I love that I can count on them for that ! I love supporting this business because they deserve to thrive! Delicious food every time. Love my carne asada tacos and burritos from here.

I’m a San Diego native; the love of great taco shop food is in my blood. Unlikely anywhere else I’ve been in Portland to date– this is it, and it is truly, truly outstanding. The tacos and burritos and everything else are so, so good. If I could give it six stars, I would. It gets better! The bar is open late and serving food the entire time. The guy who runs the place also runs the bar at night time, and he’s super nice, just hangs out and chats it up with the regulars. Great vibe.

On the way home from a concert the other night, we discovered this place & as it was late, went into the bar section to get some food. It was the only place open nearby & I’m so glad it was! The potato taquitos were FANTASTIC, and the chile relleno burrito was so fresh and flavorful! It did take a while to get service, and then even longer to get our food, BUT I realize that was due to the place being PACKED& there was only one waiter/bartender out(who was doing a great job, considering…). I highly recommend this place — especially as in the bar they have a great selection of authentic Mexican beers as well. I look forward to trying more there soon!

I love burritos and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the Chile Relleno burrito made with a home made Chile Relleno. The first thing I noticed was the size. This was a big burrito. The flavors were fantastic and their green sauce was the perfect blend of spice and flavor. I will be back to eat the next time I am in the neighborhood.

freaking awesome! such an odd vibe, décor wise, but they make up for it in authenticity. the food is stellar! I mean, a Chile rellones burrito?! what?! smash factory yo! love it! they bring your food right out to you in person, not by yelling out an order. and when they messed up one of our burritos they fixed it before we could even ask and sent us on our way with the extra one anyway. no wasted food. #adorableportland

What happened to the carnitas? Went for lunch today and picked up a carnitas burrito, but the carnitas was so salty it’s given me a headache. I could barely take another bite because it was so heavily seasoned, but I was so hungry. Please lay off the seasoning, El Burrito Azteca.

A couple shocking things here: I can’t believe I found a cool lunch place in The PDX not overrun with pretentious hipsterness. This place is the genuine deal of a taqueria. Down to the ultra-low buck furniture and abundance of regular working class people and families enjoying the food. No 30 somethings with big ‘olé Al-Qaeda beards wearing custom tailored designer hemp sweaters. Burritos are outstanding. Zero indication of blandness. Maybe the best I’ve had in the PNW. Chips were so-so, but salsa bar excellent. Service is very quick. Parking easy. A good coffee stand next door. Don’t get a triple Americano after having a burrito stuffed with jalapenos accompanied by six helpings of habanero salsa though. Especially before a long I5 hike or a critical job interview. Sometimes the most obvious things are overlooked. They have micro-brew on tap too. And NOPBR(bite me Portlandians)!! Visit here. NOW!

Boulevard Tacos came heavily recommended to me by the Mexican facilities manager at my previous job. He said it’s a great place to grab a burrito, a beer and watch the game. I had previously sampled his wife’s delicious cooking, so I knew he had something good & authentic to compare it to. I wasn’t sure what game he was referring to at the time, but I later found out he meant soccer, specifically Chivas. All this favorable talk gave Boulevard Tacos credibility in my book, but I was never particularly motivated to go there because of it’s proximity to my go-to Mexican joint, Javier’s. Finally, I went on Sunday morning for hungover breakfast and now I feel pretty dumb for not going sooner. I would never get the tacos at Javier’s because I believe $ 2 is pricey for a classic taco, but at Blvd., they are reasonably priced at around $ 1.50. They aren’t exactly traditional tacos, but they aren’t too off the beaten path either. The Azteca taco is $ 1.50 and comes with pico de gallo, cheese and guacamole. They have a fancier taco called a fajitas taco which comes with grilled veggies, cheese and guacamole for $ 1.75. Their meat selection is pretty basic too, no brain or cheek, but there is tongue. I ordered 2 Azteca tacos, asada and carnitas. 1 fajitas taco, pollo, and 1 pastor taco. The Azteca tacos did not come with cheese although it’s stated on menu and the guacamole is more of an avocado sauce you’ll find in the salsa bar of a lot of taquerias. The pico de gallo was a nice touch, but I’d rather just have it in the salsa bar so I can adjust the amount myself. Nitpicking aside, both meats were very good and the tacos were fully loaded. The pastor taco was the most traditional of the tacos, 2 tortillas, meat, cilantro and onion. Unfortunately it was also a little disappointing– the pastor lacked in flavor and was missing the gallo and guac sauce. The stand out was definitely the fajita taco. Although more expensive, it was loaded with cheese and veggies that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Also the chicken was very juicy and flavorful which is a rarity. I almost never get pollo tacos as usually they’re dry or rubbery. Of all the meats I had, this was my favorite. They have an extensive vegetarian menu as well. My veg room mate says their veggie burrito has too much lettuce so he opted for the veggie nachos which were loaded high and only $ 5 The salsa bar could use a definite beefing up though. The verde sauce is more spicy than flavorful and they need some pickled onions and carrots. However, the cilantro and onions were fresh and bountiful. Being open late with reasonably priced tacos and having a late night happy hour is going to make Boulevard Tacos a new addition to my repertoire. I can’t wait to grab some tacos, a beer, and watch the game in their spartan bar!
