The best French toast ever! Really friendly service. We will absolutely be back. My daughter gives it two thumbs up!!!

Disappointing at best. Let me preface this by saying I rarely write negative reviews. My husband and I ordered the northwest scramble which has smoked salmon. My husband took his first bite and gave me that look. Its«fishy». I tried it, it was inedible had that old fishy smell. We live one fish and love smoked salmon. Besides that, the eggs were cold. We ordered two coffees which were never refilled. There were 3 men working there and only another two tables of clients at the time. Nobody came by to ask if everything was ok. When the gentlemen brought the check, he looked down at the dishes, saw that they were barely touched(my salmon was pushed off the eggs) and never asked if anything was wrong. The bill was $ 17. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Great food, great service. Came in for breakfast and split a bagel sandwich and Greek scramble with the wife. We will definitely be coming back to try their lunch and dinner food too!

It’s become a ritual to hit up my favorite Pacific Northwest restaurant«down to earth». Got the Louisiana scramble today… delicious! If you go to Portland it’s a must!

Went on a Sunday at about 10:45, party of three had no wait. Stumptown coffee and aardvark hot sauce were the first good signs upon our arrival. There is something for everyone… Omnivore to carnivore! Got the vegan breakfast burrito– it was huge and delicious. Another party ordered the steak breakfast burrito and he said it was amazing. Great service overall.

Came in around 10 on a Saturday morning and snagged an awesome two top. My boyfriend and I were trying to choose between here and Marco’s but a guy at a little healthy dinner place down the road told us to try Down To Earth café first so we did.(Ok, mainly because I saw they had eggs bene and I was having a craving: D) Anyways, instantly greeted with friendly smiles and service. Fresh Stumptown coffee almost instantaneously which was perfect for the cold rainy morning outside. I got the ham benedict and the bf got a build your own omelete. It hit the spot. Next time we go back I’m going to try their french toast, it looked BOMB. If you are in the village I would totally reccomend you try this place out!

Been meaning to try this café for a while. Met with two friends on this dreary December Friday. The décor of this café was cozy, warm and welcoming which instantly improved my day. We all ordered coffee(delicious) and a fresh made juice with carrots and beets, also delicious. I had the french toast(unstuffed) while my companions had an omlette and benedict. We were all pleased with the presentation and quality/taste of our chosen meals. Service was good — friendly and they checked our coffee/water enough but not too much. I’m glad I gave this café a try, will for sure be back!

The Salmon Benedicts and stuffed French toast are sooooo good!!! Especially for the egg, my favorite part. The omelette is good as well. I customize it myself. Ham, bacon, mushroom, tomato, spinach and cheddar cheese.

Well, I’ve been here several times now, and feel comfortable leaving a 5 star review here, for I haven’t found anything that I’ve not liked. The place is small, tight, and only has one bathroom, but other than that, everything is great. The food is spectacular, the service is noteworthy to say the least, and my belly hasn’t once even been slightly upset after eating here. Perhaps one day they can expand into a larger location, but I’m not going to fault them for that. Thumbs up all around, and this is definitely going to be my local spot from now on. Great job Down to Earth Café. :)

This place is high on my list of breakfast places just outside of Portland… the Benedicts were excellent, and I had the stuffed French toast… portions were great, not overstuffed. The coffee was good, but not great… If you live west of the city, try this place if you need a good breakfast!

Cute restaurant with outstanding food and very friendly service! The green smoothie is a plus, it’s like homemade smoothie that I made at home.

Best breky in town. Fresh juices and great food and great service and great prices. Why are people standing in line for those other places?

unless you like food poisoning, RUN. I got the gnarliest case of food poisoning from this place after ordering the avocado benedict. food poisoning aside, the service wasn’t that great. we went our whole meal without getting our water refilled on a 100-degree day. terrible all around. update: boyfriend got food poisoning the next day ordering the traditional breakfast. I’m still sick the next day, this is easily the worst food poisoning either of us have ever had. I highly recommend going anywhere else. we’ll never be returning.

As an out of towner, we were lucky to find this breakfast gem. I had the California Benedict that was a special, so good. When was the last time the waiter asked if you wanted you eggs poached soft or medium? I always want medium, but don’t always remember to ask so that was most appreciated. With two in the family that are gluten free, the GF bread means they could both enjoy the French Toast. Lots of other options for them too. Service was super friendly — overall highly recommended.

Amazing french toast. God. Seriously. I got an iced coffee to start and it wasn’t bad, there was that acidic aftertaste about 3 sips in, a little unpleasant but not undrinkable. And if you like the acidic after bite, disregard that previous sentence. Anyways, I ordered the french toast because how could I not? I got bacon as my meat of choice. The bacon wasn’t good, it tasted like a fridge. So my 4 stars is for the toast which was so, so, so good. The bread wasn’t soggy, it had the perfect amount of sweetness(when that syrup is added), the whipped cream and pears were awesome companions. OHANDCANDIEDWALNUTS. Sign me up. The café is super cute, great spot for a date! And service was stellar. I was eyeing the cookie platter by the register, I should have gotten one!

I can only speak for the salmon eggs Benedict. They were awesome! The salmon was cooked perfectly and they made my eggs just the way I wanted. My partner got the breakfast burrito and he liked it but said that it lacked seasoning. It is huge though and filled him up quite nicely. The customer service is average though. They leave you alone and only come when you need something. I don’t mind that at all. Don’t expect super friendly smiling faces. But like I already said, my food was great.

I ordered the Eggs Benedict after meeting some friends here, they said this place was bomb. They were right. I ordered it with ham AND bacon. The guy was like, «Did you want the ham with bacon or the bacon with ham?» «Whichever one gets me the most bacon» I said. The food arrived fast and the seating was comfortable. The hollondaise sauce was was super yummy and the English muffins were light, crisp, and delicious. I did not feel stinted on bacon. The only downside from this experience was that I still don’t know which combination gets the most bacon. I’ll have to ask next time.

Had breakfast here and left happy. Went for the recommended Salmon Benedict and it was delicious. They have a nice selection of brunch food here with many juice options. I enjoyed the cozy feel of this place.

I love a good Eggs Benedict, and this place poaches those eggs very well! The presentation is as top notch as the attentive and fast service. And just so you don’t get bored, they have rotating specials of different types of benedicts like prosciutto and crab(sold separately). The potatoes are consistently under-seasoned, but otherwise pleasant. A little salt or ketchup helps, but it’s a blemish on what would otherwise be perfectly cooked potatoes. Breakfast is definitely their specialty and they’re open every day for breakfast, but if you want to come here for dinner, check the hours because they’re only open at night a few days out of the week. It’s also a bit cozy inside, so you’ll want to keep the groups small. Food: 4 Service: 5 Ambiance: 4 Value: 3 TL;DR: The place to go for breakfast and Eggs Benedict!
