I was referred to Dr. Ainslie’s group for braces from Dr. Gerald Fujii.
Let me just say that one of my ultimate fears in life was braces. I never had them, but never really had a problem with my smile either. My teeth have always pretty much been straight.
However, my teeth have also moved a bit over the years, and I was getting some crowding on my bottom teeth. So, I move to Portland, and within 4 months of being here, I get braces.
Dr. Ainslie made this process very easy, and the staff is really great. I can pretty much get in at any time if I need a wire snipped or something addressed. It is a very well run office and it feels good to not be the only 30 something in Portland with braces (there are lots of adults going to this office).
However, I do enjoy watching the occasional awkward teenager with zits come in and their mouth is full of braces. It reminds me of my AquaNet bangs, tight rolled jeans, a Loverboy ballad, a couple of Swatch watches, and the taste of Tang. Now, those were the days.
Anyhow, I would suggest this office if anyone in your family needs braces. At least get a consult from them, as they are really experts and will tell you what you need and don’t need.
