Double J Tire Center

I got a new tire for my Yukon that had excellent thread wear for $ 40. They put the tire on quickly and I was on my way.

I got a flat tire late one night coming back into town. I biked to work the next day but my dad, visiting from Vermont put the spare on and took the tire to Double J. They attempted to patch it first which was great to hear. But when that wasn’t an option they had a replacement right at hand. Fast convenient and great service; I think the experience was my dad’s favorite part of his visit to Portland!

Okay, so their customer service isn’t the best. But these guys were all up to their elbows in tires, helping other customers so I was okay waiting for 15 minutes before someone finally helped me.
But I digress… I’m house/​dog sitting this week and when I headed out to jump into my 20+ year old car, I noticed my back tire was flat. Not having time to change it, and knowing that I could borrow the homeowner’s vehicle I left my Goldie behind and took off for work. Then I started making phone calls looking for a new tire. Believe me, fixing it was not an option. I definitely needed a new tire.
I spoke to a gentleman this morning who quoted me prices for used tires and they were well within my price range. I got the bright idea to just have them mount the tire on a wheel so I could swing by and pick up the whole shebang, making it easier for me to change it once I got back home. He quoted me a reasonable price for a used wheel so I told him I would come by later and pick them up.
I was finally helped after 15 minutes of waiting and told the guy I had called earlier about a tire for my older Camry. They already had the tire mounted and it was all ready to go. They even put it in the back of the ‘borrowed’ vehicle for me.
I will definitely be coming back here to replace the other three tires.

Sold me a used tire that turned out to have previously been poorly plugged and ridden flat. About one week later it completely tore apart in a blow out. The manager and shop denied any culpability and blamed me for driving on a used tire. Why sell used tires if they have no integrity or honesty in their product?

I drive a lot and thought that I should probably replace all 4 of my tires. I went to Double J Tire based on the Unilocal reviews and was more than impressed. They looked at my tires and told me I really only needed to replace 2 of the 4. This gets major bonus points in my book because it tells me they’re not trying to rip folks off. They sold me 2 used tires in great shape, and repaired an air leak in a 3^rd tire. All of this for $ 65 and done in about 15 minutes! I’ve been driving on the new-​to-​me tires for over a month now and they’re still in great shape. I couldn’t be happier with the service and prices at this place, highly recommend as a good alternative to spending hundreds of dollars on new tires at a shop that will probably up-​sell you.

I needed tires and I was in a budget crisis. these guys hooked me up with 2 used tires at 50% tread for 30 $ each 1 hour after I called.
pulled in with sleeping babies, they changed out the tires without even waking the kids. this isn’t a place w/​free popcorn in the waiting room or clean overly friendly service, its dirty and straight to the point. get in, stay out of the way and get out. I like it! :)

First off let’s start with my dad recommended this place. Not knowing I’d be helped by a man what was drunk or high on something. (With a cigarette in his mouth the entire time. Regardless if he was blowing it on me) So he was a little incoherent at 11am. At least wait until happy hour dude.
But he found me a basically brand new tire my 08′ car for $ 40! Besides the odd man, I’m very happy I went and will return.

Had my tires in stock. Went back & got them, started putting them on right away. Guys are super friendly & fast as heck! Price was the best we found in Vancouver & Portland! Highly recommend

First off, I must agree with a previous review. The men working here aren’t always the friendliest but they sure do get the job done.
I’m definitely a repeat offender when it comes to Double J’s. There’s no one I trust more with my tires. They always point me in the direction of the best they know of when talking about any car issues they can’t fix.
Today I went in with a screw in my tire. After telling me it would be $ 8 to fix (No problem paying it, by the way) he asked me if I purchased my tires from them, which I did. A brand new set of 4 for $ 280. He told me I can come back to get them rotated but because of my situation and alignment it was probably better not to rotate them.
Long story short, I told him why one of my tires was already wearing on the inside and he fixed my tire for free and even filled up my tires to where they needed to be.
They were pretty busy so I had to wait a little but after he knew what I needed I was gone in less than 10 minutes and it was free. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thanks AGAIN Double Js!

Double J tires is the best place to get new and used tires! This is a family business! These professionals here have over 50 years of experience you can’t beat that! The prices here are mind blowing! Go see for yourself! I highly recommend!

New review– You know I always will go to you guys when I need a flat repair. I am not buying tires from you again. I bought used tires and they all blew out within a couple of months. I was able to get two of them replaced because it fell under the 30 day warranty. The other two were a loss because it was past the 30 day warranty even though one of them blew out with in the warranty time. (I wasn’t able to take it in quick enough) I know used tires wont last but I would expect them to last at least half a year. I’m really disappointed because they were obviously defective and when I went in the young guy was like you should have got new tires. Okay for one, I’m getting pretty tired of businesses blaming the customers for not getting the premium product when problems arise. Oh yeah, it’s my fault because I didn’t get the $ 90 a piece new tires. My old tires probably would have lasted longer. I’m very disappointed.

Have come here many times-​got a new used tire last week and all of them rotated for 30 $ and done in 15 minutes-​Blazing fast!
My husband noted last night that I have a screw in my front tire (no, not the new one) so I’m heading over as soon as they open, and thought I’d review while I’m waiting. Thank you Double J guys for doing such a great job!
They also have recommendations for a shop for getting your alignment done.

Small tire store with low brow values. like they work for the money they get. they do the job quick and move on to the next person (that person could be you). They offer reasonable rates that are far lower than the chain stores. They don’t BS you. I had a flat fixed in under 6 minutes for $ 5. bucks. I had tires mounted and balanced for ten bucks a tire. I have had friends that are as happy as I have been without the Unilocal.
I could have had my last flat repaired for free and would have had to wait an hour. They are local so your money isn’t flying over sea’s. they are good folks. Go see just how right I am…

Double J is a tiny shop focusing on selling and changing tires, and they do it very cheaply and quickly while also being friendly — it was $ 120 for four tires (I gots a crappy car, don’t ask). What more can you ask for?
Seriously, do you want more? Because that would be stupid. How about you just go here instead and save money over stupid corporate chains? Ok, that’s what I thought.
I know I’ll be going here again, so it’s as simple as that for me.

This place is legit! Was trying to buy 4 tires and they told me another option and saved me $ 100! Super nice, helpful and friendly service. Will definately always come back
