Just over 3 years ago, a few months before I met my girlfriend Heather, I was at a party that had the«Dino Tarot Lady»(who needs to get her website back up). The actual activity was similar to «sandbox therapy» that some psychotherapists use. More of a way to express your subconscious through play instead of «fortune telling.» The toy dinosaur I picked to represent myself was sort of like a Red Godzilla, and was noted as a fictional dinosaur– as big as a T-Rex, but with humanlike arms. It was meant to be an ideal, not something real. The dinosaur I picked as a theoretical partner was a standard T-Rex. The Dino Tarot lady noted this means I want a partner who is functionally an equal, but someone real… and someone I’d expect to take care of and help out(since I have arms and T-Rex does not.) The other day, Heather was at an event that the Dino Tarot Lady was at. Heather, not knowing the details of my own experience picked the T-Rex to represent herself and the fictional, Red Godzilla to represent me. So, there’s that.

What a wonderful reading! As someone based in mathematics and science, the idea of Tarot is not something I’m fond of. However, I am extremely fond of dinosaurs and interesting mashups. Because my interest in mashups and dinosaurs trumps my avoidance and rationality towards Tarot reading and metaphysics, I gladly accepted the offer of a Dino Tarot reading when she suddenly appeared at my table with a tray of dinos during dinner at Cartopia. The reading was very useful, and the dinosaurs were wonderfully exciting. I think I kept picking the Triceratops. Either way, she’s great at listening to and understanding people. I left with a different way to look at my life, and she left with money rightly and happily earned. I hope to run into her again. I’ll gladly have another reading. I highly recommend her wonderfully inventive and fun services! Dino Tarot FTW!

Growing up watching dinosaur cartoons, how can I resist this the opportunity when I see Dino Tarot reading Anne sitting there… beckoning me to get a reading. No, its my first time, please, tell me, what’s my fate? She basically sits you down in front of this wooden box(size of a record player), with a cut out circle on the open lid. You put your head through the circle; in front of you are a group of miniature dinosaurs. She may do the reading differently for everyone, but I got to pick four dinos and from there my adventure begins. It lasted about 10 minutes or less. $ 3, totally worth it. I would love to get another reading. Dino Tarot reading may be sighted at your local venue, food carts, or food joints, mostly on the east portland side. Or check out her twitter!

In the realm of Dinosaurs and tarot readings– the former I was infatuated with as a child, the later intrigued as an adult– DinoTarot combines both as seamlessly as one could imagine. Either Anne Adams(the divinator) or the dinos are clearly instilled with some sort magical sensibility. Well worth $ 2, 5 or 10 dollars!
