Went here for Mother’s Day brunch. The breakfast food menu is VERY limited. My chicken quinoa dish was good. Everything else was mediocre. Prices were high…(i.e. $ 6 for two eggs!) for the quantity. I only gave it two stars due to the service. The servers were friendly but kept making mistakes on our order or kept forgetting to bring things we asked for. She also didn’t know the menu well.

This place is pretty good. I had a Bloody Mary and the fish and chips for lunch. Both were good especially the Bloody Mary. One of the best west of Baltimore. The fish and chips were awesome also. Pretty nice slightly upscale décor worthy of a date night. My daughter had the corned beef hash eggs Benedict which was also awesome. Service was excellent. Check it out.

Decided to try daily grill again on our latest trip to Portland. This time the food was tasty and fresh. Much improved from Dec. 2015 Service was great too. Keep up the good work

Came in just to try a new place out, is connected to the Westin, awesome bar with great ambiance! They have an entire menu dedicated to whole sustainable organic foods with all the entries being 600 or less calories; and the portions are huge! Also have a full menu of American comfort food, with a ½lb Angus Steak Burger! Bill, the barkeep, is great and has the perfect amount of knowledge with style, humor, and class; honestly he helps make this place! The have Valet parking and on street parking too… From my understanding they have a killer handmade in-house pot pie and Bill suggested it; next time I’m trying it — I will be back! 5 star and I hear the night life is hoping too…

Microwaves in the kitchen? If the bar and its staff was not fantastic, this place would never stand on its own.

Only 2 stars due to price. The food was ok, nothing to write home, just ok. Service was great, very friendly staff. But wow, a $ 78 bill after tip with no drinks. The meal definitely wasn’t worth that price.

The last few times I’ve ordered here the service hasn’t been great and the food comes out cold. Not a great experience

My friend and I just had lunch at daily grill. Our bartender and server was Bill. His attention to detail and awesome customer service will make me come back next week when I’m in town. The food was amazing. I got the fish and chips and it had a beer battered crust it tasted different than any other fish and chips that I’ve ever had. I will recommend bill and this restaurant to all my friends and family! 5 stars!

Go in. Go to the bar. Bill will treat you well. He know what he is doing and give you the drink you desire. Great place :-)

The service was excellent! Our waitress Marti was awesome! We had the Blackberry pork chop and the Brick chicken. Both of the dishes were very good! As I read from other previous Unilocalers, the bar gets the best reviews and the restaurant lacks good selections. According to our waitress, we chose a couple of dishes that were a couple of the restaurants best. It is a bit pricey but it’s to be expected from a chain hotel restaurant downtown. Anyway, we were happy!

I had the braised boneless short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes and it was simply amazing. One of the best meals I have had since my loco moco in Maui. It was better than anything else I could have Gould in the city. Our waitress Alyssa was superb, and my single barrel Jack Daniels was the perfect addition to the meal. I will be back

In Portland for just an evening, we were walking around looking for a place to eat with 2 young ones and we were lucky to find this place. It is sometimes hard to find places that offer really good food for the parents and have a good kid menu and this place hit both of them for us. The place is very pleasant, the staff attentive. The kids kept busy with their activity paper and loved their meal, the mac and cheese got high reviews. For the adults, the chicken caprese was amazing and is highly recommended.

Entering The Daily Grill my colleagues and I were warmly greeted by the staff. Ambiance was simple and very comparable to a traditional steakhouse scene. Unfortunately, that was as good as the experience would get at the Daily Grill. After the people the restaurant was unimpressive. Server was good and knowledgable about the menu and daily specials… No pun intended. Put in an order for an Old Fashion. Came out very sweet. Taste more like amaretto sour. Appetizers were fair but was tough to go wrong given we ordered Onion Rings and Artichoke dip. Hey what can I say, it’s pretty tough to screw up deep fried onion rings and while I’ve never tried to prepare spinach dip myself, I feel like it’s a standard offering at American dining places. My point is the apps tasted fine. Entrée was the house special Almond Panko Crusted Mahi Mahi with wild rice. Very disappointing entrée. Very under– seasoned piece of fish. Rice was beyond al dente. Way to firm for my liking. My counter part had the same meal and made similar comments. We ended the torture early and passed on dessert. Place has potential but tonight was not their night.

Horrible. Staying at the hotel we decided to try this place out for dinner. The attached bar was very good so why not? Ordered the double chop. It arrived near raw. Raw. My wife’s short rib was hideous. Big chunks of beef hard as rock. Sides were equally blah. Awful food. No apology. No comped dessert. Dismal. Winner of worse restaurant meal for 2014.

Definitely a 3.5 star joint. Here’s my notes: * Staff is EXCELLENT. Very 5 star professional and knowledgeable about the menu. * Food is good, but not entirely worth the price * Great accommodation for large groups * Old school restaurant vibe, but classy * Very nice updated bar area * Great drinks! * Near empty on a Saturday night for dinner — not sure why? I ordered off their 600& under menu(under 600 calories). Nice that they have that! I got the Moroccan chicken that came with some rice and grilled veggies. The grilled veggies were good, but mostly onions sadly enough. My chicken had a nice spice kick to it but was way overly seasoned… I couldn’t eat all the chicken even though it was cooked well. All in all the meal was very plain and dry. It came with a greek yogurt sauce but it tasted slightly off. For $ 19 or so not sure it was worth it. The dinner meal came with some great bread and butter. My wine was delicious as well. Other’s meals looked delicious and I will say they had many great options.

This review is for the bar. Prefix: I’m a picky bar customer and used to bartend in my early years so I know the business. I stopped in for a few mid afternoon drinks while perusing the downtown area. Kevin, the bartender, was one of the most charismatic– knowledgeable bartenders I’ve ever met. His service was outstanding. I had a bloody Mary that was excellent(well vodka), it came with a spicy prawn which was a bit unusual, but it was good. I had two salty dogs(vodka grapefruit with salt on rim). They are outstanding primarily because they squeeze their fruit fresh for all of their drinks(except tomato). I got to smell the chicken pot pie before I left, that’s what I’ll be having for dinner later for sure. I highly recommend this place for drinks, lunch, happy hour and maybe dinner(tell you later).

I went to Daily Grill for the first time last night for happy hour, and it was amazing! We ordered the sweet potato fries, the chicken quesadilla, the chicken pot pie, and the spinach and artichoke dip. The radio of bread to dip was a little off, but they gave us extra to balance it out. The chicken pot pie was huge, tasty, and only $ 5! The sweet potato fries were awesome with the garlic aioli, and the quesadilla was good – especially when dipped in the garlic aioli as well(inner fat kid always wins!) Awesome happy hour spot, and it goes until 7pm. BOOM.

With a limited number of restaurants open on Christmas night I feel fortunate I was able to dine at the Daily Grill. The service was excellent and all of the employees had a great attitude considering they were working on Christmas night. The bathroom is located on the 2nd floor which was a bit tough to find and very inconvenient. Still the bathroom was at least nice and clean. Parking was a bit of a nightmare especially if you’re not staying at the Westin. We did find some street parking a couple of blocks away though. We decided to skip the special holiday menu and order off the regular dinner menu. I enjoyed a tasty flank steak with a cup of chowder to start. Both items tasted good although the steak was prepared nearly well done(I ordered it medium). The soup complimented the warm bread nicely. And yes I said the soup complimented the bread because the bread was excellent. The meal was finished off with a warm brownie sundae — yum! I’m not sure if the Daily Grill is really a 4 star establishment on most days but because they were open on Christmas they get the extra star on top of the imaginary Unilocal tree.
