Best BBQ I’ve ever had! You have to get there early(when they are open) in order to get some food from them! When they run out, they are done for they day. Just wish they where open more, only reason I’m leaving a 4 star.

I tried it over the summer and was instantly in love. I went with the brisket and did not regret my choice. The sauce was amazing! Hope to try some other items soon. Keep up the good work!

Da Fat Boyz catered our wedding last month and they did an excellent job! We stopped by the food cart before we decided to book them, the best deep fried mac and cheese! The food was amazing! We got the barbecue chicken and beef brisket with roasted corn, coleslaw, macaroni salad, and beans. They were very accommodating as about a third of our guests were vegetarian. They had a veggie plate option for those who wanted it, and they made our beans for us without the ends of the brisket so everyone could have them. They arrived about the same time as the ceremony started and did an excellent job at being discrete during set up since our ceremony and reception were at the same venue. They were so easy to work with. Our guest count changed a few times but they were very understanding. They had great service and wonderful food. I would definitely recommend them!

The BEST ribs I have had in a few years. The meat is so flavorful and falls right off the bone. Also had the pulled pork which was also delish. Its very tender and moist, and is not so overly smoked that you need sauce to coat your mouth to get it down! Awesome customer service! The guy threw in 2 extra ribs since it was the end of the rack. We wanted to try the brisket but they were sold out. Will definitely be back! Very glad we stumbled upon this gem.

Ribs were awesome and the pulled pork is on point. This is a man who dose this for the love of Bbq. He competes professionally and his food backs it up.

I am not a fan of BBQ. It tends to be way over smoked or too sauced up. These guys have nailed it. You can actually taste the meat! I was bummed that a few sides weren’t available, but we were there on a very hot day and they weren’t the only cart taking things off their menu because of the heat. I guess we will have to go back. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the fall off the bone ribs. Really, really good food. These guys compete nationwide and they have trophies out front to show their success. I had given up on BBQ because of food that only tasted like smoke. These guys may have converted me back.

I was really excited to try this place. Like really excited. My boyfriend and I finally decided to try it on a Sunday afternoon. We got there and were told, «ribs will be 15 minutes… brisket will be an hour… and I’m out of mac and cheese.» O-K, well then, that was basically everything we planned to order so, we decided to come back some other time. Second visit(one week later) was a little better. We were able to try the brisket and ribs but they were out of mac and cheese again UGH! So sadly we never got a chance to try it and unless we’re on that side of town anytime soon, probably never will. On the plus side, the ribs were fall off the bone tender and the brisket was quite good. They just need to get that inventory situation under control!

Beef brisket very basic taste, BBQ beans were good, fries were hot, BBQ sauce wouldn’t write home about Beef brisket sandwich on hot dog style bun

I had the brisket sandwich and coleslaw. The slaw didn’t taste like much of anything other than cabbage and pepper. The brisket was greasy and stringy — not what I’m used to. It didn’t have much of a flavor to it — reminded me more of roast beef cooked in the oven. Unremarkable overall. It was reasonably fast service and cheap relative to some of the other food carts at Cartlandia.

This cart opened at another spot on SE82nd before moving to Cartlandia a month or two ago. The usual classic BBQ proteins are available: ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. What first caught my eye here was the BBQ Parfait($ 7), a genius savory twist on a sweet classic. It’s basically a meat of your choice(brisket, pork, or chicken), a layer of BBQ beans, another meat of your choice, topped with choice of cart-made cole slaw or Hawaiian-style potato/macaroni salad. Frankly, I’m shocked that more BBQ places(at least around here) don’t do this type of dish. I might like this better with the cole slaw, only because the crunch of the slaw would provide a better texture contrast from the rest of the parfait. The ribs are also fantastic. The meat came clean off the bone, and the layers of glaze provided a wonderful crispiness. You can add some BBQ sauce on top, but heck, I even enjoyed a naked rib here. Da Fat Boyz BBQ is usually open Wednesday through Sunday from about 11 – 6(or until all the food is sold).

Yum! Worth the trip. Tasty & fresh. Great for a quick meal or for a party. We took home a slab of ribs and beef brisket packed to take home. It was a hit with our out of town visitors. Cole slaw also hit the spot. Hubby loved the beans.

Quick qualification… star rating is based on Portland area BBQ offerings. Being from West Texas, I always struggle with comparing to home BBQ joints, so just know this rating would be much lower if I was using that comparison. In Portland, any BBQ that includes brisket is fairly rare, and when found a bit like finding buried treasure! This cart recently opened within walking distance of work, and today was my first visit. Service was friendly and prompt, and the pit on the side of the cart looked promising! Got the BBQ brisket sandwich dinner, which came with 2 sides for $ 9($ 10 after a small tip). Brisket… decent smoke ring, but meat had a bit of a «spongy» texture. A little light in quantity, but again, this is Portland. Sauce was fairly generic, with the«sweet and spicy» having a very minimal kick. Fries were cooked to order, but generic frozen«krinkle» style… not really my thing. BBQ beans held little charm, and amounted to just a couple of bite-fulls. Overall, a bit light on quantity all around for the price. I’ll be back for an occasional quick fix, but only if I don’t have time to run to «Podnah’s»!

Pretty good Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich. My only gripe is that it is overpriced for what you get and considering it’s a food truck with no place to sit. The people were friendly and polite. Not a place I’d go back to unless they cut their prices. At least I tried it once.
