China Hut

The food was better than good but not great compared to big cities. We ordered delivery took 30 – 40 mins no big deal. Egg foo young, crab puffs, really good pork lo mein, the fried rice was a little dry but that’s why you have soy sauce lol!

China Hut has really good House Special Fried rice and bbq pork is delicious! I recommend eating here. They also deliver through grubhub directly to my home and it’s usually pretty quick. Thanks China Hut!

This is not Chinese food. Food was super bland and extremely breaded. General Tso was soggy and just nasty. The egg roll was more like a fried chimichanga. Never ordering from this place again.

to place an order, arrived within the hour. Egg roll, crab puff and fried rice all amazing. The broccoli beef, the beef sadly was chewy and soggy. Decent for the price and not having to leave home.

This was the only place I could find in the Troutdale area that was even open at 11 pm on a Sunday night. I called 3 times. to see if it was really still serving the full menu that late (yes) — to see if they were still delivering once I went to the website (stopped at 11) and again to place the order. The bartender, Tracy I think, was funny and not annoyed that I kept calling, which was a great start. When I placed the order I was asked how long I’d be so they could time the order to my arrival which was really nice. In fact I dealt with both the bartender and her boss and both were as nice as could be.
Ya, it’s a divey restaurant/​bar off Division, with regular Chinese Food, cheap prices and large portions. Exactly what I was expecting and better than I’d hoped for.
We ordered egg rolls, crispy pretty normal and not grease logged, combo fried rice no egg which they got right and it was good, szechwan beef… not my taste… but i like it dry sautéed not «wet» not my fave but nothing «wrong» with it, salt & pepper prawns which 1. I forgot to tell them no veggies so they were soggy (my fault) and 2 I asked for no shell and they thought I said no salt lol so there was no salt… but they were still Good… nice size and nothing fishy about them and the Generals Chicken which to me was a winner simply because they use chicken BREAST not slimy thigh meat.
Was it the best ever? No, but it was a FAR CRY from Horrible. I’ve had FAR worse and the fact that they deliver within 10 miles for a mere $ 3! Thats awesome! The food was hot, fresh, they remembered red sauce, hot mustard and soy sauce without being asked, and the bag weighed as much as a small child!
Decent food, fair prices, awesome service. Really nothing to complain about except for I’m full.

I tried to place an order to be delivered over the phone. The staff was incredibly rude. They kept making us call back about 3 times. They wanted pictures of my credit card. Seemed fishy they didn’t want the credit card information over the phone. Overall super unhelpful and extremely difficult. Ended up canceling the order because of the horrible service.

Food is nasty and bland tasting! What a waste of money! Ordered some chow mein noodles and they bring me bean sprouts! When I called to ask for noodles the guy basically said oh well that’s what you ordered! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!

I order from China hut at least 2 times a month. I called around 11:30 pm expecting to hear their closed. They answered ‚& took my order delivered my food In less then a hour. When i got my food it was still hot ‚& fresh. The guy that delivered my food was nice and made sure my order was correct before leaving. I highly recommend this place. Their food is really good,& the prices are reasonable. No grub hub or delivered dish. I highly recommend this place.

This place wasn’t like, the best American-​Chinese food I have ever had, but it was decent. I was incredibly greatful that they deliver, and they were even faster than the estimated time. My delivery driver was polite and punctual – though I did give a tip… :-O
We ordered crab puffs, shrimp fried rice, kung-​pao tofu, and vegetable lo-​mein. The crab puffs were great! Really fresh, nice and crispy, and just the right amount of filling.
We enjoyed everything else, but it was a little bland, but that’s to be expected from an «Americanized» restaurant. Plenty of leftovers.
When I am feeling too lazy to cook, and we’re sick of pizza, I will definitely order delivery from here again.

My order arrived dripping through the bottom of the plastic bag it was in. The food tasted stale, not really hot, and had a funky taste. There was a bag of something I couldn’t even identify, something between dried up rice and old hard noodles. I’ve never seen anything like it before. Not only could I not finish my meal, I had to throw it all out which means I have no leftovers for tomorrow as planned. I’m on a fixed income and can’t afford to throw money away on bad food. I’ll never do business with them again.

These guys will deliver via GrubHub! Oh, you guys, you have no idea how long we’ve been waiting for a decent chinese food deliver place! I recommend the Lo Mein, the Szechuan chicken, and the egg rolls! Hubby really likes their Beef & Broccoli and fried rice. The delivery is Fast, no complaints — very glad these guys exist! Thank you :)

The Best, Xtra– Delish the Shrimp Lo Mein Noodles! I’ll Order these Again, & Again’ Yumm-​O!!!

I ordered again and this time my food was much worse, the appetizers were the only saving grace and the people who work there were nice. But I’m still would not recommend this place even though the food is inexpensive.

This place is a joke. The Kung Pao chicken tasted like it was just sautéed veggies and chicken in oil. No sauce of any kind, no flavour, no spice what so ever. It was loaded with bamboo shoots. It appears as though they ran out of everything else. It was bland and tasteless. The chicken lo main was made the same way. Mind you, I repeated my self numerous times to make sure everything was extra EXTRA spicy and asked for extra hot sauce on the side. Instead I get bland food and a side of sweet and sour sauce. WTF am I supposed to do with that!!! Nothing had any sort of flavour what so ever. They also forgot my iced tea and never returned with it. And they gave me someone else’s soup and appetiser as I didn’t order those two items, which lead me to think maybe the sweet and sour sauce was doe the random app… Either way, whoever didn’t get their order lucked out on some nasty food… Save your money, cab it into the city instead, and have a decent meal. I didn’t have a choice as I’m stuck out by the airport with nothing in walking distance and this was the only place that delivered on a Sunday night… I should have taken the cab!!! … This place isn’t worth two cents. And the delivery guy, what’s up with that dude?! Rude and dismissive. Didn’t even wait around for me to check the order to make sure it was correct. Fail.

I order their twice a week, good food, and reasonable in price.

I didn’t really LOVE this place, but there wasn’t a lot wrong with it to give it a lower rating. The KJ was nice and welcoming, although there weren’t many people singing karaōke… maybe 3 or 4 people the whole night? I did get a lot of songs in, but it wasn’t the karaōke experience I’m used to. There weren’t any fun lights and no one was really listening to you. Drinks were yummy and strong. We only ordered fries and those were served hot and crispy, I am not sure about their other food.
Pretty much every one there seemed to be having a good time, which is a good sign!

Warning Do NOT patronize this restaurant. I used my debit card and the management charged my card $ 48.65 of food I did not order the next day. My third attempt to resolve the issue they said they would fix is resulting in police involvement. DO NOT EAT at China Hut in SE Portland! !!

I ordered general tso’s chicken, pork fried rice, potstickers and a soda. The soda was very much overpriced for the amount that was received and the online ordering place I used for them didn’t specify. Their pork fried rice was a bit underdone, but not the worst of the meal by far. The potstickers were soggy and didn’t have the characteristic sear of potstickers (caused by them sticking to the pot, hence the name).
But really it was the General Tso’s chicken that was the horror show of the meal. It was tiny bits of chicken drenched in a soggy mass of underdone batter coated with a sweetish sauce that made what was already a soggy mess worse. I tried to get chicken and would just get masses of this undercooked batter that felt like eating snot. I had to throw away the entire batch, it was very unappetizing.

My husband and I decided we’d try this place a few weeks ago. We placed an order over the phone and picked up our food within 20 minutes later. When it comes to Chinese, I always order sweet and sour chicken and pepper salted squid. The food was warm and packed nicely; however, I found two ants in my food during the meal. One was in my sauce and another mixed in with the battered chicken. I looked passed the first, but the second, I couldnt.
Why didn’t I take the food back? The restaurant was closed by this time. Why didn’t I take a picture? I didn’t think about it; I was grossed out and felt sick. I’m pretty sure there’s some sort of ant infestation there. Why didn’t I call and complain? I don’t like to call people.
I hope someone else has a better and more positive experience. Aside from the ants, the food tasted like nothing but grease. I’m not looking to argue, this was just my experience and I don’t intend on eating here again.
