This was the worst food I have every eaten. My daughter and I ordered chef specials. I order the honey walnut chicken and she ordered the original sweet and sour pork. Both were awful. If you closed your eyes and tried the sweet and sour pork, you couldn’t have guessed what you were eating because it had zero flavor. The honey walnut chicken was a bad version of honey mustard chicken. The pot stickers were a giant meatball in a doughy mess. Run don’t walk away from this place.

The owner Bruce always greets you as you are his best friend. I pre-ordered a large pan of chicken chow mein for a party. It was ready when we arrived. At the party, I received a ton of compliments about the chow mein as it had plenty of sliced chicken breast and veggies.

Wonton soup was plain chicken broth with cabbage and other random garbage; not even the slightest hint of seasoning. The pork fried rice was hardly fried, mostly clumped, had some canned peas and carrots, pieces of bone? and sparred even the cheapest of meats(pork). Chow mein was an oily soup. Plain, cheap, and poor effort. .Garbage. It gets a second star only because it’s chinese food and I found no rats in my food.

One the best Chinese restaurants of all time. Food is fresh and made-to-order. I love the rice bowls to go, fantastic price for premium Chinese food. They’re hot and sour soup is medicinal and their pot stickers are fantastic! Whenever I get an order of noodles to go the noodles are seeping out of the box. I love it! The tea is very good as well! Welcome Home!

Love their hunan-style spicy entrees, especially the lamb and the seafood. Even their delightfully, lightly crisped salt-n-pepper squid has got some zip! En fuego! Big bonus points for their blended American/Mexican breakfast platters, as well as a few nifty innovations — the smoked salmon(!) fried rice and Corned beef hash(!!!)-fried rice– are winnahs! We got a humongous free order of bisquits w/our last lunch order, as they were just finishing up with breakfast. I won’t claim that this is necessarily the best Chinese-American-Mexican joint in the known cosmos, but for all the reasons listed above(not least of all, the bisquits!), that’s 5 star love, ‘sfar as one fool is concerned…

My boyfriend and I love this place. It’s family owned, the owner is always there greeting us with a «welcome home» when we arrive. The food is family style chinese done better than the average, for sure. The décor reminds me of a place I used to go weekly with my family when I was a kid, so yeah it’s 90s, I wouldn’t have it any other way! It’s nostalgic, plus I think trendiness has it’s place and time but should not be required at a little chinese restaurant in beaverton. Get over yourselves snooty Unilocalers! Try the dry sauteed beef and the potstickers! Sooo good! We always get treated right when we go here.

They were very fast, and the noodles taste good. That’s all the positive I can say. I ordered pork noodles and there was no pork. I ordered without cabbage and there was cabbage any way. I had tried this place a while back and didn’t like it, but thought it deserved a second try. I won’t be going back again.

Great place for Chinese in Beaverton. This trip, we ordered the hot and sour soup to start followed by Szechuan Pepper Chicken(Chef Special) and the Dry sautéed string beans. Small order of the hot and sour soup can easily serve 2 – 4 people. They bring you a medium/large bowl full with a serving soup and two smaller bowls. Very good — great flavor and plenty of ingredients. Dry sautéed string beans are by far my favorite dish here. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Pepper chicken was very good but slightly on the saucy side for me. Overall great food and great service.

The owner of this restaurant is a real asshole. He is very rude and never accommodating. I’ve gotten take out from this place and it was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. I came here Christmas Day as I don’t have family here in Oregon, so, I thought I would give it a second chance since its down the street from my house. This owner was yelling at his staff and there were a couple of guys waiting to be seated, he looked at them and said he said he didn’t have any room to seat them. There were plenty of tables. He told them to order take out or come back in an hour. He didn’t bother to address them face to face, he said all this while walking passed them. I just left, no one acknowledged me or asked me how many were in my party. I really didn’t want to stay after how he treated the two guys ahead of me. I’m officially never going to this restaurant again.

«Welcome Home!» Long story short: The best«chinese/american» food I’ve tried in the immediate area. Never tried the breakfast, but apparently I need to, I just haven’t thought of the chinese restaurant as a breakfast place, it’s tough to break that habit. Some of the meals have very exotic flavors, which means I can really only eat here once in a while, otherwise my taste buds go into overdrive. A great example of this is the Honey Chicken, which comes with a real thick honey sauce.

Really loved this place. The cheerful«welcome home» greeting when you first walk in is so charming and friendly, I couldn’t resist loving the owners immediately. Having never found a Chinese American restaurant in Portland it was nice to walk into this stereotypical restaurant near to the city… the menu is all the classic goodies I feel like you find in just about any state in the U. S…the same décor, the same food, only with super-special service. Something about the classic-ness made me feel right at home. There were 5 of us and we all loved our food. The sesame beef I ordered was perfectly sauced and tender with just a little crispness to it, exactly as I had hoped. Our fried shrimp were big and delicious. Really standard, homey and hearty fare. Highly recommend for large groups, families, and just a chill, pleasant dining experience.

Always seeking breakfast on the west side, I dragged my ex in here about ten am on a Saturday. I had some doubts. Both about the restaurant and about discussing our Thanksgiving kid plan. Anyway. American breakfast in the morning, Chinese food the rest of the time? Hmm. It’s like a fairytale, he said. Or a super hero. Eggs by day! Lo mein by night! There was a colander and a container of Clorox wipes on the table by the door. Welcome home! said the man at the register. Uh huh. I do have those wipes at home too. They’re handy. It was clean inside, very pink. According to ex, according to Bar Rescue, pink is supposed to be dampening to the appetite. It reminds me a little of Cameo Café. It’s pink too. Only less cluttered and with a bar. We ordered coffee( Unilocal reviews said it was meh, and it really was). We went to Jim and Pattys after. Necessary. Our server was friendly and effficient enough. The breakfast menu is extensive: omelets, scrambles, waffles, pancakes, french toast, Benedict’s, etc. The usual suspects are all here. Ex’s stuffed french toast was ok. Too much berry compote. Order it on the side so your toast doesn’t get soggy. Eggs were a little dry. Bacon is very flat… cooked with a press probably. Not over or under cooked, not dripping in grease. Not crisp though either. My over easy eggs were cooked just right. Hash browns were crispy and not too greasy. Same bacon. Toast was a bit overdone and already buttered/margerined. The table had hot sauce, ketchup, freezer jam, soy sauce, cream, and sugar all lined up in the middle. The ice water was nice. It had lemon slices. Ex said«it excels in its mediocrity.» He is kinda right. It was an average, not bad but not great, American breakfast. With average, not bad, not great, service. The staff came out midway and sat up front to quickly eat steaming bowls of noodles with chopsticks and then they disappeared back into the kitchen. I was sorta jealous. No noodles on the American breakfast menu. Sigh.

The food here is amazing and so is Bruce the owner! We used to live nearby and were so happy to hear ‘Welcome home, double martini?!’ from him on a weekly(sometimes more) basis. After a while we stopped ordering and would just ask him to bring us what was good that day. We had so many amazing meals… Pan fried flounder(a whole fish… so dang tasty), salt and pepper fresh dungeness crab, ginger steamed clams, pineapple fried rice, roasted pork shoulder with fennel(cooked 24 hours), pork with home grown bamboo shoots and chives, sheesh… I’m dying here. We miss living nearby for sure. If you like Chinese food, do yourself a favor and stop by. Have a drink, skip the usual boring chow mein, and let them feed you something great.

It has been 4 years, time for an update: We stopped by for lunch today right before they were closing. Hubby and I chose Kung Pao, he chose chicken and I chose shrimp. The hot and sour soup that came with our lunch special was very good, not quite as tangy as I like but overall very good. The Kung Pao Shrimp and Chicken came with a bunch of zucchini, green bell peppers(which I despise), and water chestnuts and a shit ton of peanuts. The meal was mostly the above, and mine had about 6 nice size shrimps. It was delicious and had that ginger taste we have been looking for and the right consistency and color of the sauce. My only gripe is that Kung Pao should have three things, protein, peanuts and green onions, that is it. Hubby said if he had been really hungry it would not have been enough(he only eats a tiny bit of rice), but for around six bucks for lunch it is a hell of a deal. Next time I shall get a dinner portion and try the pot stickers. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star is the general run down appearance of the place both inside and outside and all the kitchy stuff scattered around.

This is a review for breakfast only. I’d driven by the sign for American breakfast at a Chinese restaurant any number of times. I imagined it would be a greasy spoon sort of option, a couple eggs and potatoes for a few bucks. Turns out it is an expensive menu with aspirations. Those aspirations are ’tis sad to say, not met. The place itself attracts middle aged and older men, half sitting by themselves in a mostly empty room. The décor – well a picture may describe better than words so please see attached. Sort of like a 1990’s Entry level Chinese banquet hall that used to serve the San Francisco wedding market where it was de rigueur to feed several hundred family members with quantities of food aimed to subdue the body with numbing lethargy. I ordered the salmon hash. The potatoes were pallid with that repurposed leftovers twang that is such a personal pet peeve. The hash was at best lukewarm, which at thirteen dollars is not exactly acceptable. The full meal with coffee and a 16% tip came to eighteen smackers. While my server was prompt and pleasant, I still left with the feeling that I had been subjected to a shake down just on the north side of the law.

Only came here to grab a drink and happen to come during their siesta hour(off time between lunch and dinner). No biggie, the lounge was still open. Golf was on the TV and it sounded like there were a bunch of golf enthusiast enjoying a couple rounds of beers. I must say, listening to golfers talk landscape is completely different from your regular landscape conversation. I knew there was different kinds of grass but I didn’t know know what certain grass can make the ball go faster, slower, etc. The drinks were strong. The space is your typical Chinese restaurant lounge. There is no Chinese food available during siesta but there are still other food items on the menu if you’re really hungry. There is video poker in the back and the bathroom is in the restaurant side of the place. The outdoor patio is covered and quite nice. It has a large flat screen TV for those that want to drink, smoke, and socialize. There is even a little room off to the side where one can sit, drink, and watch TV. I learned that this little room was for the colder months and is like the warming room. Cool! I’m not going to lie, I had very low expectations. I am pleased to say that it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I would definitely come here again for a drink or two.

Success! I had to meet the girlfriends parents for the first time. I needed the food to be good as a distraction; if the food is good I too am likely going to be seen as good. The host was funny and offered to let me pay(I’m hella broke) but the dad was like, «I’ve got it»(phew! That was close) The food was great! I ate with chopsticks and felt cultured. The Mongolian beef was how I remembered from my childhood, very good. I found a lucky cat statue with whiskers! Attached photo.

It is a one of a kind place. They serve an American breakfast, and then at 11am it transitions to a decent Chinese restaurant. The service is attentive and friendly. I’ve been here many times on Saturday morning. All of their breakfast entrees are wonderful. Especially Frankie’s Hash, which really feeds 2 people if you are normal. Their coffee is good stuff, and I love the omelettes too.

Chinese food in this town is different. It’s not east coast Chinese and for some reason it’s not really that good. This town is successful with every other type of Asian cuisine but how is this one overlooked? Where is my day glow Egg Drop Soup??? Why am I stuck with Egg Flower Soup? Where are the good spare ribs with sticky red sauce and the always funny Pu Pu platter? Well, I was out in the Beaverton area with friends and he told me that China Delight was pretty close to east coast Chinese food and that he really enjoyed it. Ok, works for me, off we go. No Egg Drop Soup. Bummed. But we did get some really good potstickers. No sweet chili sauce though. They had a nice lemongrass sauce that went with them and it was decent. We ordered a chicken dish and Orange beef. A simple classic. We ordered white and brown rice and I assumed we’d get a small bowl each, nope, we each got a large steamer full of rice. Wow. The Orange beef was actually really good with the exception that the slices of beef were huge, not bite sized. The chicken dish was good but there wasn’t a lot of chicken in there and way too many water chestnuts and very little green onions. So basically the meal was hit and miss. Not the best, but better than some of the other places I’ve been to over the past year and change. It was odd that they sat us in the bar area. Some rather loud, drunk regulars were there, so that was different. The bartender apologized to us in her own way. She was helpful. As I said the place was hit or miss. Would I go back? Maybe, but I’d try some items that had more veggies and more chicken in them.

I’m kind of torn here as I’d like to say it’s a 3.5 star but overall the food was just ok, although the General Tso’s chicken was by far the best dish we tried and it was done just right. We also had the wor won ton soup, mixed vege, and ma po tofu, all of them being just ok but maybe for Portland they would be 4 star considering how lacking we are for good Chinese food around here. The owner is a nice guy if a bit quirky with his odd humor but I liked that part of the experience. The atmosphere kind of suck though, it’s super bright and too quiet, feels like a diner so maybe it’s a better place for breakfast food. We’ll come back again and try a few more things to be sure and if you just want decent Chinese you could do far worse in these parts.
