Cedar Midwifery

My experience at Cedar Midwifery was absolutely amazing! I could not say enough good things about this company and women who run it! When I scheduled my free consultation I was still on the fence whether or not I wanted to do a homebirth. After meeting Megan and Susannah I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that homebirth was the right decision for me. They were so knowledgeable, caring, kind, thoughtful, helpful, and insightful, I can’t believe the amount of care I was given.
Each appointment was a least an hour long and they helped me so much through food logging, nutrition counseling, and even talking about little things that I was stressed out about. Megan and Susannah are really great at explaining things and taking away fear around any issue. They take time to listen to your concerns and give you options! You get to plan your birth and they guide you along the way and take great care of you. Many of my family members told me on several occasions that I was blessed to receive the care that I had, and wished they were so informed and empowered «back in their day.»
My homebirth experience was amazing all thanks to Megan and Susannah. My labor was 19 hours long and they were amazing support to me throughout my birthing journey. They served me and my family above and beyond what I had expected. They answered my frantic phone calls in the middle of the night, they came to my house when I was having breastfeeding difficulties even though it wasn’t a scheduled visit, and brought me tools to help. Even after our last 6 week old check up appointment they still called and emailed me to keep tabs on different issues we were having.
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would recommend anyone who is in the Portland area interested in homebirth to meet the great women at Cedar Midwifery. I hope that you are as blessed by them as I was.
