I have nothing but good things to write about this company. I first started going there to get my spa chemicals — they are helpful and the prices are reasonable. This winter, when my spa stopped heating, they were quick to send Mike to the rescue. Mike told me just what needed to be done, had me order the parts, and within a week, parts were installed. There was a slight hiccup as the spa then leaked some water, but he knew exactly why, came back to adjust the part(once heated, it started to expand) without charging me!!! He is friendly and knowledgable! Good, trustworthy folks!

Our Portland operation has done business with Carefree since 2009 and we have spent a total of $ 38,500 with them. We have always had a good relationship. We could have bought cheaper pool supplies online, however we value having a provider on call for service. Three months ago we had a leak in our spa mechanical room. Mike diagnosed as heater failure. They had replaced the heater 3 years earlier. The prior one lasted almost 8 years and we have 7 years on the same unit in another location. This one was replaced for $ 3,600. Water leak not fixed. Change your filter housing was the next recommendation. They wanted $ 800 for the part. We finally bought exact housing from an internet supplier for $ 140. They installed and we paid an installation charge. Water leak not fixed. We had another maintenance person look at the leak and it was a gasket issue. Part under $ 10. Leak fixed. Should have been the first step and problem solved. We approached Mike and Jan with a check for $ 2,167, asking for an adjustment on the $ 3,600 charge. This would cover their wholesale equipment cost and their labor charge. We wanted to maintain our relationship. Their response was surprisingly rude(Mike and Jan). Jan said they would not respond on a service call unless we paid the full amount. As business owners we know that a customer can slant their story and giving a bad review is damaging. Our review is accurate. I would suggest you can’t rely on Carefree to own their mistake and create a win/win for both sides.

Everyone at Carefree is so nice, so helpful and so knowledgeable! Lol, wish the same could be said for the company that installed my pool. I have been going to Carefree for about 3 years now and they have taught me just about everything I know about maintaining my pool and have even helped me troubleshoot equipment issues over the phone by having me email them pictures! Their free water testing service is invaluable in getting the pool ready to go every spring and they always have the parts and products I need in stock. And they never try to sell you something you don’t need — in fact they have told me I didn’t need something I thought I did:)

We’ve been using Carefree for several years now. They never oversell, they are all super friendly and professional, and they really know their stuff. They have solved water issues for me and gave me a perfect chemical«recipe» for when I do my water changes, all free of charge. Although I didn’t realise it at the time I bought it, my hot tub is not one of the major brands and the parts aren’t as easy to get. Miguel keeps digging until he finds them. We’ve also had Mike repair our tub on-site, and his work was great and the price was right. Open six days a week, so convenient as well.

Love this place! Jan is very sweet and has amazing customer service, the pool guys are very nice to always answer questions in and out in a timely fashion. I shopped around and found they had the best prices in town. I would recommend this company to anyone that has a pool!

love them checking my pool chemicals. I only go to them for the testing. They don’t over sell either.
