Good food. Definitely recommend the fried gnocchi and the collards. Lots of rotating tap amd they make good drinks. Only downfall is the inside had lots of flies which was a little gross.

An update needs to be made, because a couple of past criticisms(from almost exactly 3 years ago) need to be eradicated. First of all, everything I said about my love for this place is still true. Dandillies and all. Even if dandillies aren’t a thing. Over the last few years, service has just gotten super top notch. As my check-ins can attest to, I come here A LOT. And I don’t even always remember to check in, so the number is far from high enough. Service: fact is — the people here really care about this place, and the clientele has responded in kind. Some of the servers/bartenders have been here for years. They’ll remember your name and give you a genuine smile. So I absolutely take back what I said about«hit or miss.» It’s always a hit. And if you experience otherwise, well, maybe you’re the a-hole. Juuuust sayin’. Ambiance: definitely not hit or miss anymore either. It’s pretty much always great. Tonight they’ve chosen to play old-school Michael Jackson. They usually have hilariously awesome movies up on the one, unobtrusive TV in the back corner. AND they renovated the bathrooms a while ago so they’re not frightful anymore. They’re actually a little fancy-like. Well, at least the women’s bathroom is nice. The men’s is a liiitttle bit… less nice. But that’s to be expected.(Come on duders — AIMTHATTHING.) Clientele: Definitely way less obnoxious these days. Plus I realize that this shouldn’t ever really be a factor for rating a restaurant/establishment, because they seriously can’t help the type of douchers and jabornis who walk in day to day. The food never disappoints. The beer list grows. The art on the walls rotate. The booths stay super comfortable. The bartenders and servers are always friendly. This place is just my absolute love and I am not looking forward to moving out of the neighborhood this summer. I WILLKEEPCOMINGBACKTOYOU, CBAR. I PROMISEYOUTHIS.

I’ve been to this place many times. At first I didnt like it – food and service were off. But on the third or fourth time we ordered the goods and started really liking this place. When you go get the clams as an appetizer and the chef’s burger. These are the best items on the menu. The fried chicken and the country fried steak(brunch) are also good but that Chef’s burger is why I keep coming back, I’ve had others that were alright, but some things that i didnt like were the poutine and the other apps. Most items have big portions. Not a big fan of the brunch menu although the bloody maries did save my life one time. Beer selection is the best in the neighborhood. Pinball if thats your thing.

Stiff drinks. Great beer selection. Friendly service. Fantastic food. We were so pleasantly surprised when we checked out this awesome neighborhood bar. Did I mention the pinball machines?

Nice quiet place for drinks and pinball. We were early on a Saturday night, just how we like it.

I am a big fan of this place, not only because they have the best tasting and great quality food, but they also have amazing people working there. Tonight I had Elizabeth, Heather and Jamie help me and each of them made sure I was taken care of. I’ll continue to come back at least twice a month to get the amazing chef burger and try the new special! Recommened for all!

The drinks here are really excellent and the food is truly exceptional for a bar. They’ve got some sort of crazy wizard in the back who makes all their food and does a really excellent job with it all. The Steak & Baguette is phenomenal. Their burger is one of my favorites in the city. The Gnocchi and Spinach salad is also a definite must-try. Love this place!

This place is now my neighborhood bar, and I love it even more. The service can sometimes be a little random, but the food is point and the beer selection(20 taps) is always changing and improving. And of course there’s the room of pinball machines in the back, with about a dozen machines, and those change out pretty often, too. The brunch is fantastic, with lots of options, and delicious bloody marys, with pickled cabbage and green beans! Keep on keepin’ on, C Bar.

Came here based on the Unilocal reviews for happy hour. After my experience I wasn’t sure if I went to the same place. As soon as we walked in at 4pm(on a Tuesday) I was hit in the face with a stench. It’s a bar but it smelled like a bar on Sunday morning after a drunken night of spilled beer and piss in the corner. Ok, after the olfactory system settled and we got used to the smell it was time to order drinks and food. Lots of beers but the HH drink menu left a lot to be desired. It’s a good thing I love ginger. The food, we ordered the poutine and the burger, medium. The poutine was a muddy mess, more gravy than fries. As for the burger, have you ever had a barbecue where there were like 100 people coming and you’re like, «WTF am I gonna feed all these people?» You run to walmart and buy the frozen patties that come in like 50 per package and it says, «100% pure beef», you convince yourself that it is even though you’re like, yeah right, and buy them anyway. Well when I bit into the burger I smelled that walmart patty, defrosted, not cooked. Ummm, nopedy nope. Not even gonna mention the service. Apparently, talking is out of style. Maybe it was just an off night, I’ll convince myself of that.

Arguably the best overall bar food in Portland, with a varied & extensive menu. Favorite is the bacon potato cake & the scramble for brunch is good, too! Several(10 – 15) rotating beers on draft, including one or two ciders. Good place to go with a group if you can grab the picnic table, or cozy into one of several booths with a friend. Prices depend on what you eat — $ 8 – 15. Five-star food & drink with unmemorable surroundings. Wait staff generally friendly.

I had the mac and cheese late at night. it was amazing! creamy deliciousness, that complimented my hamms. so i went back for brunch, and… well… they were out of everything. Which is fine, it was later in the day. so i ended up getting a burger. it was bland, nothing special. It would have been a tasty $ 7 burger. also got the pork burrito. it was all pork! just a huge serving of, not that great meat. So overall… not the greatest. a good spot to hammer some $ 5 pints and eat food at 1am. otherwise not in my list of places to go back.

Three things that I never knew would go so well together until I visited C Bar: 1. Awesome vintage pinball machines 2. High quality, creative bar food 3. A really impressive beer list, along with expertly crafted cocktails The glue that holds it all together at C Bar is the staff, including Nick(unofficial Mayor of Kenilworth), who all make sure you know you’re welcome. Thanks for being there for me, C Bar, even when my pinball game is lacking.

Never would have even crossed my mind to come here for brunch. GLADWEDID. Plan was to check out the new Mexican joint. But I was feeling potatoes and eggs that 12:00pm Saturday. C Bar has brunch. It is REALLY good too! My fave breakfast item is Salmon Hash. Hands DOWN. So when it was the 1st menu item mentioned we B Lined it for a table. Happy Cup Coffee is some of my favorite as well. so C Bar = SCORE. The salmon hash was seasoned with a purpose. It had a mixture of veggies, including super tasty grilled asparagus. Okay, only fault was it could have been a slightly bigger portion for my $ 13, not the biggest portion I have had locally(I am pig, I ate this in 15 min flat), but the flavor was near the very top. Wifey got the veggie scramble. Devoured it as well. No left overs and she is not a pig like me. So portions are adequate, food is spectacular. The Bloody Mary was okay. Nothing special. They claimed it had pickled veggie. It had nothing but pickled cabbage. no asparagus or anything else. That is NOT comes with pickled veggies. The kid also had a cheesy egg plate, happy 16 month old boy, and it was like $ 3. I would give it a solid 4 if the portions were a slight bit bigger. For now, solid 3.5.

Update: fuck this place! Holy shit your severs are so fucking rude! Standing with beer is against the law? Just say hey can you sit down! Wowwww! I just ordered a beer and was carded — fine. I walked away and less than two minutes later went to the bar and ordered a grilled cheese and was carded again… Then she pretended to not know that I just paid and she was holding my card open on my tab… what the fucccckkk??? Their beer tastes good but their service doesn’t and their food is great… maybe they need some new employees. 4 starts food and beer –2 for their service

C Bar is the kind of place I want to become a regular at. They have an amazing beer selection with the exception of darker beers like Porters or Stouts(that’s just been the last two times we’ve been in!) Their food is amazing, especially the Chef Burger. It’s got a great mix of sweet(apple jam), creamy(melted Chev), and savory(grilled bacon) that comes together swimmingly. This is a place that does bar food right! Also, most items can be veggie substituted, I love how common that is here(not used to that where I’m from). Service has been great every time we’ve come. Haven’t checked out the pinball room yet, but I’d like to on my next visit.

My friends took me here for a late night meal and drinks. Their happy hour is kind of weird here. Only the drinks are on happy hour at a certain time and the food is later. Very confusing so make sure to ask your server. Anyways, I got their Sangria, which the flavor seems to rotate. The sangria was okay. I think there was some club soda in it, which was strange to me. I also got the burger, which seem to make up for it. I got it with chevre and a salad instead of fries because I have to watch my figure, you know? The burger was big and messy and the patty was seasoned nicely. Great food.

C Bar can be hit or miss. I use to really enjoy coming here more often 5 – 7 years ago. Great food, great drinks, great location. On a recent visit the burgers are still really really good, however the service has gone down. I don’t think any of the recent trips here have ended with«good service». It’s normally surly service that you have to put up with. Personally, I know a lot of great folks looking for jobs. Perhaps C bar needs some new employees? Great pinball, fantastic food and(non service related) atmosphere.

The best thing about this bar, is its bar food is way above par. We had the the chimichurri steak sandwich. The drinks are also fun and they were out of raspberry purée, but had a delightful pint strawberry sass mixture with Oregan made potato vodka. If you are a nerd, there is a whole room dedicated to pinball. Curious if they have brunch and its undiscovered… PS The tap beer list was 20 long.

C-Bar is my new neighborhood spot for comfort food and a good beer. The service isn’t always quick, but the food quality and friendly staff make up for that. Be sure to have the Mac and Cheese. Really. So good.

I had the chilaquiles with pulled pork added and it was fantastic! I had both the green and red sauces. They nailed the sauciness of the dish(some places don’t put enough sauce). The sauces were really flavorful and not too spicy. They have the homemade hababnero and chipotle sauces on the table. My friend had the Monte cristo sandwich and it looked delish. The service is warm and friendly and prompt. This was my first time here but I’ll be back!
