Bulkogi Fusion is my favorite food cart. 100% delicious 100% cutest chef ever Once the chef made me a special vegetarian kimchi seaweed wrap with eggs and cheese inside, heck it, it was phenomenal !!! A bit of a challenge to eat this food while simultaneously walking.

We visited our favorite food crack… er…I mean food-cart today. Hugging the corner of SE Belmont and 48th. — Bulkogi is two doors east from the«Belmont Eco Laundry», and is snugged against«Jae’s Market’. The cart owner/chef is a wizard with food. A veritable Dumbledore of Korean/European/Asian fusion. –Over the course of five separate visits I’ve now experienced four different items from his menu –and they were all dangerously good. Dangerously good. Today we tried a soup of his. Amazing. Yes, I really did just say the soup was amazing. My go-to favorite –the pot stickers are to die for. Today I also tried(and subsequently bought seconds to enjoy for dinner later) a chicken wrap of some sort. Seriously f-ing delicious. So, if you are hungry and you are near SE48th and Belmont –try this food cart. The prices are reasonable and the food is more than worth every penny.

Amazing ramen! I get this at least twice a week. The guy running it is super helpful and nice. Try the potstickers!

Found this place(maybe a new location, or they moved) on 4th and Belmont tucked in next to the mini mart next to the kickass laundromat. This time a tried the salad roll(basic) and the vege egg roll. Both were great! I love all of their veggie options Next time I’m definitely getting the burrito.

This place is SO yummy! Everything tastes so fresh and the owner is really friendly. They just opened a new location in Southeast. There is a kimchi quesadilla on the menu-yum!

I was surprised how hard it was to find open food trucks anywhere in Portland! Seems like everytime we walked anywhere, everything was closed. Luckily, on a Saturday night when we were wondering around for food, we discovered this little cart still open! There is 1 guy there and he takes your order and cooks it all himself. We ordered a bibimbop burrito with pork, little spicy. While we were waiting, he gave us a couple potstickers! so good! so nice! The burrito was delicious. It held together well, and had a good outside tortilla. The inside was full of flavor and had a large serving of meat! Meat was tender, and soft, and had a lot of juice. I wish I got it a little spicier but it was still good. Definitely satisfied my food cart craving for the night.

Misty and cold Saturday afternoon and I was on a hunt for Beef Bulgogi Tacos for my guy. I ended up walking around in circles through the food truck parks in the whole Downtown Area. It started off with the place I went to last trip was closed, so I searched out another place on Unilocal a couple blocks away in another food truck park and that was closed too. Frustrated, I stopped looking at my phone and looked up. Bulkogi Fusion. I ordered two beef yogi tacos and a order of chicken potstickers. The guy at the counter was really nice and cooked up the orders for me and another couple, while I got samples of each of their sauces. They make and sell their sauce. My guy was really pleased with the chicken potstickers and the taco, but couldn’t eact the other and it was saved for later. It was even good later as a post-lunch-before-dinner hotel snack.

I originally gave this place four stars, but I’m bumping it up to five. This isn’t because I discovered that the food was more gourmet or nuanced than I previously realized. It’s because I’m addicted, and basic honesty requires that I admit Bulkogi Fusion is doing something really right. I’ve been back several times. I mentioned that the burrito is great, but recently I branched out to the seaweed wrap. I had on earlier visits asked the gentleman who runs the joint whether certain items were vegan, and on this visit he took the initiative to inform me that the seaweed wrap has eggs and he’d make it without them. What a Mensch. Give him some business.

What more is there to say, except that the food was hot, quick and excellent. I got a kogi taco and some potstickers. Both were great! The potstickers were exactly what I want outta potstickers: crispy outside, with a little chew, a hot, savory filling and a solid dipping sauce. I’ve never had too much Asian /Mexican fusion before, so I was pretty excited for the taco. It more than met expectations. Good pillowy tortilla, crunchy slaw and a good blend of spice and cool made for a great lil snack!

The beef Bibimbap Burrito is over-the-top delicious. Full of bright Korean flavors. Kimchee, pickled veggies, beef. Rediculously good. There are probably other fine items on the menu, but I may never know. There is another Korean fusion cart in this pod: Korean Twist. At least in a straight up burrito challenge Bulkogi Fusion wins easily. It’s been several days and I’m still thinking about that Bibimbap Burrito. Holy crap it was good!

Bought a Unilocal deal from this place. Showed it to(who I assume is) the owner of Bulkogi Fusion. He was surprised the Unilocal deal was still around and told me it was expired. Uh, no. I bought that about 5 minutes ago. He decided to honor it, and I ordered the: – Kimchi quesadilla with Chicken: Kind of whatever. Kimchi’s supposed to have a punch, and this one definitely lacked any sort of punch. Maybe a tickle. How do you fail a quesadilla??? – Bibimbop burrito with beef: A smidge better than the quesadilla, but it’s not hard to beat the lackluster quesadilla. Maybe I’ll try this place again, one day but today, Bulkogi Fusion didn’t impress me much.

Bulkogi Fusion is a solid food cart option on SW5th. Then again, so are most of the carts in this pod. The«fusion» mentioned in the name refers to a fusion of Korean cuisine and Mexican style with a little Japanese influence. The menu is simple and easily digested. You pick a Korean meat or tofu, then how you want it served(in a taco, in a bowl, as a burrito, bibimpap, etc.). Last time I stopped by, I got veggie dumplings and tofu bibimpap and was satisfied. Service is good, quality is good, value is good. Overall, I’m a fan of this little cart.

First off, food trucks are very popular in Portland, AND much, MUCH cheaper than in California! Such a large variety of food trucks to choose from, and these trucks are always situated in the same place, same hours, same days, unlike in California. I had the Chicken Noodle, not spicy(though I still had red flakes and tasted some spiciness at the bottom), $ 6. The cook packed it in a large soup container and allowed me to sample the Seaweed Wrap as well. It’s essentially your typical instant noodles — think Ramen — plus carrots, lettuce, egg, and meat. Great for a chilly day, which is often in Portland. I especially love the large portion, especially considering the low price. The Seafood Wrap has egg, radish, carrots, lettuce, seaweed, and sushi rice — it’s basically a veggie sushi. Super friendly cashier/cook/server. Awesome deal.

Very friendly operator and low prices, but the dish I ordered was really disappointing. I had the ramen with veggie dumplings. The broth, which was supposedly made from slow-cooking a ton of different veggies, was very bland, the noodles were basically overcooked Top Ramen-style noodles, and there were 2 overcooked dumplings, one of which was falling apart and starting to disintegrate into the broth. Perhaps if you stick to their Korean-Mexican cuisine you’ll have a better experience.

I have eaten almost everything here and would eat any of it again. Every Fall when I get the soup cravings, this is my man. Fresh and flavorful, their soups are delicious, about $ 5 – 6 a pop. He is the only cart in this pod to offer such a selection of Korean soups. There is a good amount of grease on the top, which I am not a fan of and attempt to remove at great risk to myself; them soups is HOT. Bulkogi Fusion tacos are a bit more expensive than the other Korean cart in the pod, but the owner is very sweet and the offerings are different. He offers a kim-chi quesadilla, which was tasty but too expensive for the size($ 6 with chicken.) He also offers a seaweed wrap as opposed to the traditional tortilla which is nice.

I was hungry and pacing the line of food carts and then I saw this. I was interested in the fusion aspect and chose Bulkogi over the many other options in the area near my hotel(Courtyard). I had a hard time even choosing just one dish, but I ended up going for the Bibimbap Burrito. It was a great choice — just spicy enough, with fresh veggies and perfect rice. It was exactly what I thought it would be, although I never would have thought to put my bibimbap in a burrito shell, so scratch that… anyway, it was excellent. The hot sauce was fantastic as well. Great service, clean cart, good variety on the menu, and excellent prices. AND you can get a Unilocal deal on the food if you look first. I would recommend and I will go back!

3.5 stars. I’ll round up because it’s a great deal and great/friendly service for a food truck. Bulkogi Fusion did not disappoint. Just picking a food truck was hard, but this one caught my eye for Korean. I ordered the tofu bidim yakisoba and it was delicious. It probably could have used some more cilantro, but it was still tasty. Definitely try the homemade red sauce for a nice spicy kick. I also ordered a tofu seaweed roll. It was essentially a giant sushi roll. Not my first recommendation, but still tasty if you’re in the mood for something more Japanese-inspired.
