Been here a couple of times for the kids soccer games. One of the better fields that they play on. Also can’t beat it that Voodoo donuts is just outside the fence. Obviously, we made stop there.

Great soccer field! It’s not often I can say that, but they have large areas you can play soccer and it looks like where the pros would practice. The field is made of synthetic grass and has these little black balls instead of dirt that suppose to absorb the shock. I’m not a soccer player but I heard it’s great stuff and the field was newly turfed a couple of years ago. There is a little playground but our kids love to play in the little bushes and sand pit. They pretend it’s their secret hiding spot. There is also a nice track around the field if you’re like me and want to get some walking exercise while everyone kicks the ball. And if all that exercising gets you hungry… stop by the Voodoo Donuts 2 and get yourself a little treat!

I love Buckman Field. It’s a field for athletes and those seeking a great place to walk, run, play, and be encouraged. Buckman Field went under a $ 2.3 million renovation in early 2011. It’s slick with it’s all-weather synthetic turf and stadium lighting. The field has a separate soccer and football field. There are strict rules for using the field so leave your food, pets, and any nastiness at home. When making your way around the track, there’s a huge chance you will smell VooDoo Doughnuts next door. If that smell bothers you, you might struggle to make it around the track. The same could also be said if you love the smell. There’s a large parking lot next to the field at NE16th and NE Flanders. This is the best place to park. So if you’re up for a run, plug in your Nike+ and make a couple of laps around the track. If your shoes are clean, run sprints on the field.
