I only stayed here for 2 nights as I was traveling for work through Oregon but it was worth the time spent. remember though, it’s in portland. don’t expect to be showered with sky scraping views and a mini bar.

Stopped by the Powel location and made a reservation for the following night. Room rate was affordable at 75.00 plus tax. No room was available to view at the time, so I took my chances. I then needed to change my reservation for a few nights later. When I arrived and paid for my room I was charged 119.00! This was 44.00 more. When I showed the lady my receipt from my earlier reservation, she said the rates are more because it was a Friday. I am aware some places charge more on weekends, but 44.00 dollars more is pretty extreme. Being too tired to fight it, I stayed. When I arrived in the room there were many disturbing things. Furniture falling apart, torn icarpet, dirty shower mat, raisins on the floor. Walls are definitely paper thin as others have commented. I was awakened at 2 am due to partners next door. I was not expecting much, since I read the reviews. I would have put up with it for 75.00, but for 119.00 should have received a clean, quality room and good customer service.

Quotes from my fiancé after only a couple hours here. There is a toilet running, a loud bachelor party next door, and something that sounds like an air compressor going off behind the wall by our heads every couple minutes.
«What do you expect me to do about it?» A quote three times from the front desk tonight. Also, she implied my mother in law and myself might be «staying for only an hour» despite showing up in hiking gear and clearly married.
So if you’re looking for overpriced, rock hard beds, various noises, and a vague musty smell, then this is the hotel for you! I’ve stayed in a lot of cheap hotels, but this by far the worst.

Ok this may very well be the strangest motel experience of my life.
First I had reserved a room with a king sized bed for one night.
When I arrived I found a queen sized bed that was sitting lopsided and sunken in the middle. It literally looked like a large dog bed.
Huge cigarette burns all over the top comforter, curtains, small sofa and the room smelled like an ashtray. (I am certain I reserved a non smoking room because I detest the smell of cigarettes) im not exaggerating when I say this place is a FLOP HOUSE that looks like it could be rented by the hour. It’s simply disgusting inside and out and it was 125.00!!!
The sink still had whiskers and hair in it, the folded towels had grim and handprints still on it!!! The towels had OBVIOUSLY not been washed, just refolded and put back on the rack. I actually thought the housekeeping had missed the room for just a bit until I realized I had just rented a dump.
I call the manager up to the room and she came right away. She acted shocked and apologized for the dirty towels and sink that had obviously not been washed .
It was about then that I looked under the table to find several candy bar wrappers laying on the floor. When I pointed them out, she immediately became adamant that those wrappers COULD NOT have been there when I rented the room. It was impossible since she said she personally inspected the room. She basically accused me of putting them there.
I couldn’t resist asking is she thought I had brought the dirty towels she was now holding and the whiskers in the sink with me along with the candy wrappers. Keep in mind, at this point I’ve literally been in the room less than 10 minutes.
I had to laugh at the notion that candy bar wrappers could have never have been left in the floor in an obviously filthy room. Had candy bar wrappers been my only concern I wouldn’t have even complained.
I demanded a refund and was in the office for an hour while they tried to figure out how to refund my money.
I think I was about to be taken for a ride until the lady noticed me recording our conversation. Suddenly I was refunded and went to find another room. I went to the super 8 near the airport and for the SAME money, $ 125.00, I got what was one of the nicest rooms I’ve been to in a long time.
I’ll try to post the portion of the video where she saw I was videoing and suddenly all the problems were solved. Hopfully it works.
Keep in mind, I was in the office for an hour being jerked around about how she couldn’t refund my card, had no cash and didn’t know how to reach a supervisor or owner.
I was seriously about to call the police.

I’ve stayed here 2 times now and I have been pleased. The rooms are clean, sink area seems to be newly renovated. Rooms have a fridge and microwave. The rooms are pretty good size and beds are comfy!
Staff was welcoming and very attentive whenever we were in need of anything.
The bathroom is a little small and bathroom doors had dents in them as if someone punched it.
It is not located in the best area of Portland, but is close to a lot of restaurants and fast food joints also not too far from
Not to many negative things to say about this place because I enjoyed my stay the 2 times I’ve visited
I feel they are very affordable and I will definitely be staying here again when I am in town!

Paper-​thin walls, not terribly comfortable, questionably clean, didn’t feel particularly safe.

Surprisingly good for the price, and the location is convenient even if the immediate neighborhood is not so great. We got a huge room — in fact a true suite — and it was newly painted and very clean. Staff was super friendly, no extra charge for a 3^rd person at the last minute, and parking was just separated enough from Powell to feel secure. This is not the Ritz but compared very favorably to hotels we’ve stayed at in Portland costing 75% more. Small fridge, quiet heater/​AC unit, microwave, no breakfast, and there was a coffee maker in the room but no coffee.

Alright, folks. I feel like I need to set the record straight, because this place deserves more than one star. I stayed here a total of three nights this past weekend — two nights in a king room and the last night in a queen. I’m a four-​year resident of Portland, and I just needed a place to stay for a few nights. So I think I have a unique perspective, knowing the town and the area.
1. I found the customer service to be wonderful, and not only with me, but with several other customers I watched them interact with. Maybe the staff has totally changed — I know for sure that it has at least partially, since one young woman was in training — so maybe these older reviews were talking about past staff. In any case, staff always comes and goes, and I really don’t believe in one-​starring a place just because of that.
2. The reason for the higher-​than-​dirt-​cheap prices are due to the following: Bigger rooms with a living area, including a comfortable couch, coffee table, desk, mini-​fridge, microwave, and vanity area that kind of blocks off from the bedroom area, giving it some privacy. Yes, they are actually suites, people. Hence the name. Also, the beds are comfortable. That’s hard to find for under $ 100 around here.
3. The reason for the $ 15 charge for guests after 8pm and the necessity to check in with the front desk is due to the following: this is a somewhat shady neighborhood after dark. It’s in the process of gentrification, but there is still some scary shit that goes down around here, and I can attest to that from personal observation and experience. So, why charge and make sure they know who’s staying with you? So they can try to:
a) cut back on people using it as a place to party/​do drugs
b) avoid people from using the place as a prostitution center
c) ensure your safety from unwanted company
They monitor the halls with video surveillance ²⁴⁄₇ for YOUR safety. And I, for one, am grateful for that. Especially considering that one of the nights, on my way back to the motel around 1 or 2am, I was in a car2go and was aggressively followed by two creepy men for 20 minutes before they finally gave up. Had I not noticed they were behind me and waiting for me to get out, they may have tried to follow me back to my room. The front desk would have seen it and helped me out. How many other hotels can you say that about?
They don’t get a fully fantastic review because:
a) they totally skimp on the towels. They’re the thin, white scratchy towels that weren’t even bleached correctly. ALL of my towels had stains on them, which just feels gross because you don’t know just how clean it is at that point.
b) the maintenance of the rooms leaves something to be desired. My first room had two blood stains near the bed. That’s just a little too «Four Rooms» for me. Replace the carpet, people, come on. Also, the bathtub leaked because the entire floor around it was soaked when I got out of the bath both nights. (To be fair, they were unaware of the problem and after I moved rooms, they spent the whole day working on it.)
c) the wifi sucks. It works, but it’s in and out, and was driving me nuts.
d) the «free breakfast» is gross. It’s like they go to a gas station and purchase a few packages of small donuts and over-​processed muffins, make one pot of coffee and call it good. I’d rather eat ANYWHERE else. I’d rather actually go to the gas station and buy a nutrigrain bar. So, don’t count on that to sustain you for the morning.
Overall — this place is fairly priced for what it is, and it’s worth it if you’re in a tough spot like I was. I spent a long time looking for an affordable, safe place within Portland city limits (that wasn’t already booked up months in advance), and I ended up here — and I’m no worse for wear.
Just don’t forget to bring a towel.

Horrible staff very rude & treat you as if your a criminal or up to something bad from the get go. Overpriced for such poverty level rooms bad company worst staff and not so friendly location! Won’t ever come here again.

This room is nice but is shadowed by awful customer service.
There were 4 of us sharing a double queen bed room. We got in, set our stuff down and started chatting and laughing. Literally within 5 minutes, the room phone rang and it was a desk clerk saying that someone had complained of the noise coming from our room. At 3 in the afternoon. Now, I get it, you’re sharing a space with others and remaining quiet at the later hours and whatnot. We are all pretty reasonable people and I consider myself pretty respectful of others. We were not shouting, we were not running laps in the room, we were talking at a normal volume and we laughed.
So, we asked to move rooms so that we wouldn’t bother the person next to us and were denied. So we asked what we should do because we want to be able to chat and talk, but we didn’t want another complaint. The staff member just kept repeating «I don’t think it’s a problem» «It won’t be a problem» «There is no problem»
We tried explaining that clearly, there IS a problem since we were just talking and that was disruptive to others. He was generally unwilling to help at all. We explained that we would be out late because our friend was a musician and had a gig. We wanted to be able to talk when we got back, but that we didn’t want to bother our neighbors. The guy just kept saying it was not a problem, when clearly it was.
I’ve stayed with 4 people in a single hotel room probably 10 times before and never once had a noise complaint. We are all adults and try to remain respectful of others, but having a complaint 5 minutes after we got there, only to have the staff member tell us «Remain quiet, and it won’t be a problem» was a bit much.
It would have been such a better experience if the staff was at least faux-​understanding. The members unwillingness to help or do anything to rectify the situation is why this hotel has earned such a low rating.
I would not go back to this hotel.

I’ve stayed here a few times and liked it. Good location. Decent rooms. I’m currently in the process of moving and decided to stay there for a few days while waiting to get into a new apartment. When I checked in, I was treated terribly from the start. The front desk man saw a person in my car (a friend who’s helping me move) and refused to give me a room unless I paid extra for my friend-​he didn’t believe me when I said I was the only person staying in the room.
Since it was late I just dealt with it since I was tired and wanted to go to bed. I got my stuff into the room and came back down about a half hour later. The front desk man was waiting at my car! He said he had been watching me on the security cameras and I had too many bags for one person; therefore, someone else had to be staying in the room with me.
He kicked me out of the room and threatened to call the police (for what, I’m not sure). I didn’t get refunded for my 3 night reservation and I won’t be staying here EVER again. Disgusting.

This place is horse shit. They charge you $ 15 to have a guest on the property after 8pm, the breakfast they serve can hardly be called a breakfast, the employees are all jaded and EXTREMELY rude, the furniture in the rooms is falling apart and they generally just don’t care about anything. If you’re trying to sell drugs or bring a hooker back though, this is the place for you. Please do me a favor and go elsewhere because this place is complete crap.
