Melanie has been doing my henna for years. She has such diversity and creativity in her style and is always a joy to be around. She is professional, punctual, and her Henna Parlor is like stepping into a luxurious dream. Her lines are fluid and balanced and her paste stains like no other. I have seen and received henna from all over and I must say that Melanie Ooi’s henna is unmatched.

Melanie’s uniquely exquisite henna talent has brought me back to her many times over the past few years. I love henna and my husband is from the Middle East, so henna is a regular part of gatherings and events in our life together. I’ve met many henna artists from around the world and here in Portland, and no one compares to Melanie. She is the gold standard to which I hold all other henna artists. Her work is done with such integrity and skill, I just can’t bring myself to go to anyone else anymore. Such a blessing she is.
