I’ve spoken of my love of Baskin-Robbins ice cream before, particularly of their pink peppermint candy ice cream. A friend and I stopped in after work for that flavor for me and something in the chocolatey-maple range for him. We really enjoyed our interactions with the two cashiers working up front. They were both fun to talk with and didn’t miss a beat while scooping ice cream. They were even nice when my ice cream fell out of the cone onto the floor and scooped me a new one without anything but total sweetness; sort of appropriate in an ice cream shop don’t you think?

Picked up an ice cream cake on the spur of the moment for a birthday party. Staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful!

Good little chain ice cream spot in a local neighborhood when all the good ones are downtown, save for one(To The Cloud). Still run by teenagers but really friendly ones. All the favorites. Bubble Gum and the sorts brought me back to when B.R. was the only game in town.

I had a coupon for a dollar off one of their drinks so I decided to try one. It was pretty good. I don’t know what I was really expecting maybe something like a blended drink you would get at a coffee shop but it was a bit different. Very icy cold and almost like a milk shake but not as thick. I would be willing to try one again.

Ordered a cake for a friends birthday. This girl was so nice. She helped my design it right in the store and even gave some great suggestions. Price was a little expensive but it tasted and looked great and the customer service was exceptional. i’m really surprised at all the negative reviews… maybe this store switched hands?

This establishment has been in business for years with an exceptional product until recently. The prices are way out of line for what you get. Look at the picture menu and it’s not what you“ll receive. A scoop of ice cream is the size of a golf ball. One peanut butter sundae didn’t even fill the dish and 2 scoop sundae didn’t even fill what was once called a kiddie dish. All that for 10 bucks! Shame on you Baskin Robbins. a tillamook ice cream cone puts you to shame– after 45 years wont go back!

BR has lost some of it’s luster over the years. A few of the flavors I really dig but generally speaking it’s not spectacular and in this day in age you have to continue to try to improve just to stay even. With the likes of frozen yogurt shops and Chill that have opened up in nearby neighborhoods, it’s hard to justify paying the same money(or more) for ice cream that is just OK.

Stopped here tonight because my wife wanted ice cream on our way out to a volleyball game. I didn’t know where else to go, and we have never been to a Baskin-Robbins before so we gave it a shot. I had a single scoop of peanut butter and chocolate, and my wife had a kiddy scoop of some crazy chocolate flavor. The ice cream tasted like what I expect from the grocery store freezer. So the total was $ 4.50… really? For one scoop and a kiddie scoop? Damn. They didn’t taste that special. I estimate that my scoop was about 5 oz, and my wife’s scoop was 3 oz– they were really small. So, if I do the math correctly that’s $ 4.5 for 8 oz… or $ 72 a gallon for ice cream. I cannot in my right mind support this level of highway robbery for non-special ice cream.
