My wife & I wanted to go to an eye care place that is covered by our insurance. Barbur Optometric is close enough by our usual hangouts so we made an appt. When we scheduled I had a question about how the eye exam worked. The receptionist was very helpful & so we decided to try them. When we arrived for our appts. the receptionist was kind in a no-nonsense kind of way that I really appreciate. She dealt with our insurance company like a pro. Dr. Midson is a nice lady & understands how health issues can affect vision, and too boot actually knows a lot about chronic conditions and their connection to each other and the body. I was really impressed with her ongoing commitment to understanding health! Anyway the exam was easy & she was professional & reminded me to breathe at moments. My wife & I both picked frames from their small but well curated selection(if you want more choices go to the Tigard location). We went to the Tigard location to pick up our glasses because we were actually excited to get them a day early. The same staff & some new folks greeted us like friends & answered our questions. And best of all, our out of pocket expenses were totally reasonable. In fact we paid less than we expected. And we are getting lots of compliments on our frames! Great place, great staff, great care!

Our son has seen Dr. Midson for the last two years. She’s done a great job putting him at ease in the clinic and has provided us with lots of games and ideas we can practice at home to strengthen his weak eye. Staff did a great job helping him pick out glasses too.

I had a wonderful experience here getting my annual eye exam and contacts order. Really nice staff, and Clare Midson was very thorough with my eye exam. I have lazy eye, so I am like crazy coke bottle in one eye, and normal vision in the other. I am truly a One Eyed Willy. Either way, great staff and reasonable prices. The only reason this is 4 stars, is because they are also called Northwest Optometric Offices, so I drove all over Barbur Blvd looking for them, instead of for the sign that said Barbur Eye Care.
