This place is perfect. Exactly what I would hope for when I come to a sushi restaurant. The service was amazing and the food was even better. I will totally be having girls night here again! I completely forgot our servers name but knew the menu like the back of his hand and made awesome recommendations!

We arrived on a Saturday evening about 7pm. We only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. The hostess offered us drinks while we waited. I had a delicious cocktail of whiskey, coffee liquor and walnut bitters. It was awesome. When asked about the rotating tap, the server offered us a sample of the beer, which was a collaboration between their restaurant and Wydmere. It was pretty good. Overall, the service here was great! Everyone was friendly and helpful, much appreciated. We ordered a few items and everything was delicious, but what stood out was the Green Machine roll. A vegetarian roll, consisting of some tempura green beans, avocado and an amazing sauce. I’m officially addicted and will be returning for this roll many times. My 15yr old son was with us and he liked his basic California roll and cucumber roll. He wanted dessert so we ordered the chocolate egg rolls. They were good but not great, a lot of other more interesting dessert choices were available and I’ll likely try those next time.

Totally unexpected, but I loved it. The wait staff was super friendly. Drinks were good, and i came for happy hour and it was actually tasty and not greasy crap. The salt and pepper tofu I got on my yakisoba was incredible, exactly what i wanted. We got the pickled vegetables which included persimmons, which was probably the best pickle I’ve ever had. Really good okonomiyaki. Got the nigiri sampler, and I would say 3⁄6 were really good, the other 3 were just ok, but overall a really good experience.

Bamboo’s tasting menu cannot be missed. The entire meal was fresh and well-balanced with a wide array of flavors and textures. Paired with a glass(or three) of Yuki No Bosha sake, I’m not sure there’s a better meal in town.

There were five of us passing bites and drinks around, so we got to sample several different rolls, cocktails, and sakes. I enjoyed everything I tried and want to return immediately to try more. It was a bit of a wait on a Saturday night, but worth it. Our drinks were ready by the time we were seated, along with cucumber water, and some salted edamame. Service was great, the lighting was a bit dim, but the menu was still visible. We were sitting on wooden benches, which wouldn’t be my first choice for a seat, but wasn’t too bad. I got the Warrior sake flight. I loved the 55 sake. It’s a bit on the sweeter side, but still has that earthy sake flavor. My friend always gets the Orient Express cocktail, which is perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with a bit of spice on the rim. Highly recommended. My favorite roll was the Garden of Eden, with tuna, apple, basil, pickled mustard seeds, and a spicy sauce. Spicy, sweet, savory, herbal. It was a wonderful mix of bright flavors. The wagyu burger was possibly the best hamburger I’ve ever had. The meat was tender, not overcooked, and a decent portion size, with two onion rings on the side. A fried egg with runny yolk was the crowning glory.

There are a few times in life where a meal is presented with such exquisite design and style. The beauty with bamboo is that the taste is over the top. Been to all locations on several occasions with large parties. The green machine, California sunset are the bomb. Nigiri salmon or albacore, torched with garlic reduction butter.

Stopped by this cute little place looking for some good sushi. My mom doesn’t eat sushi, so we were looking for something else on the menu. I had the shrimp tempura rolls, which DOES include crab(even though the menu does not specify that). My sister had the California rolls & my mom had the mixed vegetables tempura. The special was scallops! Everything was delicious! I don’t like crab so i was a little disappointed… however the scallops were perfect! The California rolls were just as expected & you can’t go wrong with tempura vegetables. The service was good for it being a bit busy. We sat outside which was very nice weather. I loved the atmosphere they create. There is cucumber water always at the table. Also edamame while you wait for your food! I would go back to this place if ever coming with sushi lovers.

I really liked this place. I didn’t order anything to eat but the drinks were fantastic. If you’re into sushi, you should definitely try this place because everyone around me seemed to love their food. Great location in a trendy part of town, friendly bartenders(cute too) and overall a pleasant experience.

Really, really awesome sushi bar in the beautiful Alberta Arts District. My friend and I came in around 9 on a Thursday night, and it was pretty busy still but every server and sushi chef was extremely responsive and attentive to our order. We had a Tuna Poke salad(incredible), a California Sunset roll(specialty California roll with spicy tuna, crunchy tempura, and garlic aioli on top) and a spicy tuna roll. As the sushi chef who took our order noted, we do like our spice. The fish was incredibly fresh and tender, and the tuna melted in the mouth exactly how it should. I wish I knew a place this awesome in LA.

Stumbled across this happening sushi spot after giving up at long lines elsewhere. Quite possibly some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. So DELICIOUS. Fresh albacore tuna caught THATMORNING. Amazing service. The only downside is how expensive it is.

My new neighborhood sushi bar is awesome!!! Have been here several times and tried most of the menu… happy to say that it’s all great. Have a great happy hour, great drinks, and good saki selection. The staff is super friendly, informative, and the food comes out quickly. They also instantly bring you water and edamame to snack on. Sushi: super high quality fish and other ingredients used, the chefs come up with specialty rolls that are imaginative and tasty. Other food: The food that’s done in the kitchen always comes out quickly and is perfect. Drinks: great craft cocktails available, wine, beer, and sake’. Happy hour: 4:30 to 6 and has a wide array of food and drinks on the menu. Décor: Cute intimate style and have both seating at sushi bar and bar bar as well as restaurant style seating. Price: Non-happy hour prices can be a bit much… but it’s worth it.

I will wait two more months to review… First try was good. Not great. Waiting for the bugs to be worked out. I’m quite sure they will have things settled by then. This place has HUGE potential.

They recently changed their menu. We sat at the sushi bar. Those guys are great. I had raw octopus for the first time and I enjoyed it. We received pickled cucumbers with our ginger. The service is top notch. Many delicious items to choose from. The prices and portion sizes are pretty fair specially for a sushi restaurant. Enjoyed the vegetarian green machine roll; its delicious. Soft Shell crab roll is quite good. Sweet shrimp, shrimp heads. The seaweed salad was just ok. The coconut panna cotta was interesting but I would not order it again. Definitely returning here

WOW! I am always afraid of trying a place that everyone tells us is fantastic and will blow you away. I am glad to say that the place lives up to the recommendations. The space is really cool and reminded me of the underground sake bars in Tokyo. I cannot away enough about the staff — we sat at the bar which is not a normal place for us, but the ladies at the bar were fantastic. Friendly, patient and definitely knew there trade perfectly. Was like dining with friends. We started with. pickle plate which changes every night — the rosemary pickled mushrooms took the show. We both decided that we would go raw. The sashimi plate, and chef’s selection sashimi plate were outstanding. Both of these platters are served with real Wasabi — very rare and a distinguishing touch which is greatly appreciated. It demonstrated to us diners that the management and chefs are dedicated to the best products and have a desire to treat the food with a deft touch. The perfectly prepared, fresh scallop helped also. We will be venturing back to Bamboo Sushi often and has become our go to place for our sushi snobs from LA. Treat yourself to some great sushi — get there now.
