The picadillo burrito was pretty disappointing. It was basically a big scoop of rice. There was very little beef, raisins, peas etc. or flavor. Picadillo is a Spanish stew and this was not happening at the food cart. They even switched up the beans on me and gave me pintos when I had chosen negros. I think Division Street has better food than Azul Tequila in general and this was the most disappointing place I’ve sampled at the food carts.

This Mexican food here is excellent and cheap. I tried the chicken burrito the first time I stopped by this food truck and loved it. I returned to the Tidbit Farm pod on my last day in Portland to try Hapa and the server noted that Azul has the best fish tacos. Since I love fish tacos, I knew I needed to order one to try it. The tacos definitely live up to the hype. The tilapia is fresh and very smooth. It is also just $ 2. I highly recommend this food truck if you enjoy Mexican food. The tacos are really good. Soft corn tortillas and juicy meat, it would be hard to beat this cart. I’m pretty sure they’re the best tacos I’ve had in Portland. I love getting 3 different tacos. The price is great and so is the food!

Good burrito, friendly owners, and late hours. Yay. I ordered the basic carnitas burrito, but since sour cream and cheese weren’t included in the description, I had to pay to add them. That bumped the nominal $ 5.50 cost up to $ 6.50. At that point, it’s still a buck or two cheaper than most of the entrées at the other foodcarts in the Tidbit pod. The meat was tender and good, though it didn’t stand out as much as other carnitas I’ve had. The rice was fantastic! Definitely helped tie the whole burrito together. They offer black and pinto beans, though I didn’t specify which I wanted. I got pinto, and they were good, though I found myself wishing for some more. The guacamole was serviceable, but not special. Needs more lime. I also was impressed with how well-wrapped the burrito was there. Probably the neatest burrito I’ve ever eaten. When I requested some salsa roja, rather than giving me a little cup of salsa, the cook gave me a whole bottle of it. Talk about hospitality! It was spicy and smooth, but might’ve used a bit more heat. I think I’ll see about their other salsas next time I’m there. Azul Tequila is good, though I wouldn’t say it stands out. I’d come here if I were in the area and craving Mexican food, though I might not make the trip just for them.

As of this post, Azul’s second food cart is parked at the Tidbit pod. Sometimes, the panda just wants a standard Mexican burrito. Very reasonable prices here, and the Carnitas burrito($ 5.50) fits in the reasonable ballpark. Braised juicy pork, choice of pinto or black beans, Spanish rice, fresh guacamole, and pico de gallo inside a flour tortilla. Juicy pork, properly prepared. Good beans and the right amount of rice. Enjoyed all the listed ingredients in the same bite. It may not be the biggest burrito out there, but I can’t really complain. Good service and reasonable wait time. I wasn’t asked for my option of pinto or black beans, so presumably, the default will be pinto beans unless you specify otherwise. Two types of hot sauce come with the burrito. The green one is likely tomatillo-based, while the orange hot sauce is creamier and slightly spicier. As for me, I’ll just drink both and head home for something to really nuke my face. Friendly folks at this cart… go check them out!

Why can’t the majority of taquerias in Portland make a decent burrito. This is terrible. Mushy crap excuse for steak and papas. Black beans and cheese, nothing more. Check out the other options on this pod, this one sucks.

I’m Mexican myself, I’ve been cooking all sorts of cuisine since I was 4 years old. I usually don’t expect much from my food when I don’t prepare it myself but, I’ll be damned if this isn’t some good grub. I always judge a Mexican restaurant by their ability to prepare the most iconic and simplest of foods, Carne Asada Tacos. This place did not disappoint, not one bit. They’re friendly, truly authentic food. I’d be so surprised if anything they prepare is canned because it all tasted so fresh and homemade. It’s a bit out of my way as far as work lunch fares, but I do make the effort every now and then so that I can try a different item off of their menu. I’ve been there on several occasions and I have yet to eat anything I don’t like. Oh, and they do accept credit cards.

I’m pretty particular about my Mexican food. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll eat pretty much all of it, but when it comes to quality I have some fairly high standards. That said, this cart is a rock solid choice. The Pechuga and Authentico burritos are excellent, as is the Zucchini burrito(one of their many great vegetarian options.) Service is fast and personable, truck is clean, prices are some of the best in town, but most importantly, the flavors are awesome. Caramelized onions and caramelized pasilla peppers in a burrito? This place is top notch.

We stumbled upon this place after I was satisfying a burger craving down the road and the boyfriend wanted a burrito. He got the burrito autentico, and we both took our food home. The look of satisfaction in his face led me to setting my Burger down and taking a bite of the burrito(not usually a fan of burritos, but again, THATFACE). It was pure delicious, authentic burritoness. I can only really rate this one burrito because I have not deviated from this menu choice yet. It’s that yummy. I can only imagine what the rest of the menu tastes like, so I will post an updates review in my next visit! The cart is clean, the service is speedy and there is plenty of space to sit as you want for your food.
