I’ve been going to Lily for 8 years now, and she is seriously the best! A week ago I went in with super long hair, and walked out with an amazingly cute A-​line bob that completely suits me. I have been getting compliments nonstop, and even had two people at my work (including someone I didn’t even know) ask me where I get my hair done. I completely trust Lily and she has done so many things with my hair: ombré (she’s amazing at it!), dark brown, bleached chunks, and a dozen different styles of cuts. She always knows the latest trend, and will get you looking fabulous and fresh. Also, she’s so fun to talk with! Book an appointment-​you won’t regret it.

Lily has been cutting my hair for over a decade now, I’ve followed her from location to location like some kind of strange stalker, but despite that she returned a hat to me that I left behind at one location when I came to my appointment at the next! She’s plenty experienced, formerly a trainer for Redken, is constantly scouting for the latest trends wherever her travels take her, and will help you figure out a style that will fit you best.

Im a natural dark brunette and Ive been getting Lillified for almost five years now. I have been through zillions of styles from blonde, ombré, all kinds of extensions, feathers, bling, short, long and beautilful bright colors. I have consistently gotten comments about my hair — people envy my style thanks to Lilly. The best one yet: a guy stopped me on the street to say «Whatever you pay for your hair it is worth it!’ If you are willing to pay for good products and great color, go to Lilly. She’ll make you stand out for sure.

Lilly is just so amazing! I recommend her to everyone for color, cut, extensions, styling — whatever your hair needs are! I have been going to her for years since I moved here from San Diego.
I was so panicked when I came to Portland — not knowing anyone or where to go for my hair. My hair is really long and really thick and I need frequent root touch-​ups. My Redken artist in San Diego recommended Lilly as she comes from the Redken family. I am so lucky! My hair always comes out beautiful! I travel all over the country for business and no matter where I go, people compliment my hair. Sometimes we go funky with colors for high and lo-​lights. She is so fun and always knows what’s going to look hot.
Last year I had some major stress in my life and lost a lot of my hair. I needed extensions for a long time and Lilly did an outstanding job! They blended right in. She had beautiful colors that really complimented what hair I had left. The extensions lasted forever and were beautiful, top quality.
I just would not go anywhere else in PDX for my hair. Lilly is so talented, so fun and also a really great person :)

I’ve been going to Lilly for years now! She’s taken me from blonde to purple to red (I’m naturally dark brown). I started going grey about 10 years ago… The cruel joke? I’m VERY allergic to hair dye. I came to Lilly with this dilemma and she has been foiling my whole head since! This normally 1 hour process actually costs her three hours of her time yet she still does it. I highly recommended her. Oh! And I get complimented on my color and my ‘hair bling’ (ask about it!) every day… Every, single day. I always leave feeling beautiful!

Lilly has been cutting and coloring my hair for years now. She gives beautiful haircuts, amazing with color, and always good at giving advice as to what would look good on you. I have gone the range from a brown/​blue ombré to natural looking blonde or red. She never disappoints and I always receive compliments on how awesome my hair looks. Lilly is always super fun to talk to and her shop is very cute!

I came to see Lilly for a cut and color first, and then subsequent hair extensions about a year ago. The cut and color were fine, but the extensions were bad. I have done extensions myself when I went to hair school myself, and she placed them completely wrong. She only did them really low on my head, and it left me looking really mullety. I felt a lot of embarrassment with this, and it wasn’t until I have recently had consults with other stylists for extensions, that I have realized how bad that experience was. I did reach out to her in the days after, and she basically defended her work. Over and above this, the day of the appointment, she was 30 minutes late to arrive at her shop. She then rushed through, and did not style or do anything to my hair after the extensions were placed. I left with bone-​straight Asian hair extensions on my naturally wavy hair. The whole thing was really unfortunate, and I don’t think she really was able to hear how bad of an experience it was. As I now know, there are a few really talented extension people in Portland, and I haven;t had these issues again. I think if she had apologized for the time issue, pushed back her next appointment, and been willing to fix the mess she made, this could have gone differently. I think I paid around $ 300, and had to have them pulled out with pliers within a few days.
Update 8÷22÷14: Lilly contacted me to basically say she remembers things the same as I do, except the details where she messed up, overbooked herself, overcharged me, and wasn’t accountable… She apologized and asked me to remove the review, now that there are a few negative reviews of her hair extensions. She didn’t offer a refund, a partial refund or anything… She Just asked me to do her a favor and remove the bad review! Had she actually acknowledged how bad of a job she did, and didn’t tell me that it looked good still, i likely would have deleted this! But, she did a bad job, and never tried to fix it until it came up on Unilocal!That’s not good customer service or business practice.

If I could give Lilly 6 stars, I would! I have been going to Lilly for 2+ years. As someone with curly, long hair i have searched all my life for someone who gets it. And Lilly is amazing. She is honest, and she takes her time to make sure you like and understand what you are getting from her. She owns her salon, Atomic Hair Studio, and takes such pride in her business, it makes me happy to support such a lovely place and beautiful human being in her business. I refer all my friends to her. I will NEVER see anyone else– EVER! it’s a good think Lilly is young, because I plan to see her until I am old and gray (oh wait, I already have a lot of gray)! :)

Having naturally curly hair (not wavy, but nearly pin-​curls curly depending on the weather), its extremely difficult to find someone who can cut your hair without ending up in tears by the end of the service; this wasn’t the case when I visited Josiah at Atomic Hair.
Not only was the cut great, and was great for my face shape, but it held up too. I didn’t have to snip off a few extra long pieces here and there before my next trip in, which I’ve always have had to do after going to other salons. The best part: I didn’t have to shell out a ton of money, which is a huge deal for a college student.
Whether you’ve got straight hair, curly or some where in between, I wouldn’t refer anyone to any place else but to Atomic.

It’s awesome to get Lillified! She is honest and will let you know what will and won’t work for you. She always delivers a better cut than you hope for and is an expert on color. Even the funky fun colors. (I keep purple hair even if I do have blond in my picture). She even brought be from a box/​black color down to a blond and didn’t fry my hair. You can’t ask for better!
She’s fun to chat with, has a great space and is just a wonderful person.

Lilly Huggins is the BEST! I’ve referred at least five friends to her and they keep going back. She listens to what you want and makes your hair even better than what you imagined. She’s a pro at coloring, feathers or hair bling (think glittery hair strands woven into hair).
You can schedule online, pay with a credit card and park conveniently on the street for free.
Her new space is awesome — great décor and a lively atmosphere that is a great reflection of Lilly’s down-​to-​earth glittery personality without any of the annoying salon aspects like other people’s drama/​crying children/​judgmental stares. It’s a comfortable, one-​stylist shop (another stylist leases it for two days of the week) so you never have to whisper when telling a raunchy story.

Lilly has been cutting my hair for a few years. I have followed her around to a few different places and I was so happy to see that she has opened her own salon/​studio. She does an absolutely amazing job on my hair every time I see her. I have been to her for both cuts and color and have always left feeling fabulous! She also did extension for my wedding which came out beautiful and were very reasonably priced. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fun, hip hairdo by a really sweet person.
