I got a cut and balayage from Alanah on Friday and it has been the best thing that’s ever happened to my hair. I have thin, curly, color-​treated hair that has eluded every hair stylist I’ve ever had… until I met Alanah.
She was friendly and did her best work despite the fact that I was super late. She really listened to what I wanted unlike other stylists who just smile and nod and do something completely different. I’ve never met a stylist with more precision and expertise than Alanah.
Although it was the best hair job I’ve ever had, it was also the most expensive. However, if you’re looking for an ultra quality job that will last longer and require less maintenence, go to Alanah. In my opinion, she’s the best hair stylist in Portland.

Awesome experience, great cut. Alanah got me a much-​needed cup of coffee, then talked me into… bangs. Gulp, bangs, something I hadn’t had since my mom was cutting my hair. I was super nervous, but I trusted her and went for it.
I got tons of compliments, but it was such a drastic change, for days I would catch my reflection and think, «who’s that?» and then, «eee, did I make a huge mistake?!?»
Six weeks later, I freaking love my bangs and forget what life was like without them. My hair looks way cuter when it’s up for when I’m wearing a hat, and the cut is growing out really nicely. Thanks, Alanah, for encouraging such a big change!

I have very long, very thick, very dark hair. I’m always so scared to let new people cut it. Not only did I let Alanah cut it, but she gave me a beautiful ombré (which did not even dry out my hair)! Plus, the products she uses are amazing. My hair always is healthier and shinier after seeing her. She’s fun to chat with as well, making the whole experience fun. I highly suggest her.

Alanah did an amazing job cutting, and styling my hair. Alanah’s cuts are precise, and innovative. She has a very personable, friendly, positive approach! I trust her to just do her thing! The salon is large, however it has a calm zen feel to it. Parking is a plus! I highly recommend !

I went to Alanah to have some color done, and she did a fantastic job! She was not only completely on point with what I wanted my hair to look like, but she was hospitable, and really fast! I would recommend her to anyone that wants their hair to look chic! She also recommends other ideas for colors that would compliment your skin tones and personality.

After a lot of research and with some trepidation, I took my 4 year old daughter to Nattura for a light keratin treatment. Alanah has experience with kinky curly hair, listened to my input and worked well with my daughter. The 3-​hour process went well and the end result is exactly what we had hoped for — the curl pattern is unchanged and the keratin makes detangling so much faster and easier, I only wish we had done this sooner. We like it so much that we are going to go back next month for a full keratin treatment. We highly recommend both the treatment and Nattura Salon to all of our friends.

I went for a return visit to Alanah last week and I couldn’t be happier with how my hair looks! It looked amazing in the salon, and it still does. There must be some magic mojo involved in the process because my hair looked great even after a day of rain and public transit. It’s so wonderful to know I have a hairstylist I can trust to give me a fantastic, long-​lasting look.

Great men’s cut + a parking lot.
I hate trying to find a new place to get my hair done, so having just moved to Portland it’s a relief to have found Nattura. I had my first hair cut there last week, done by Alanah, and she really did a phenomenal job. I’m not good at describing a desired style to a stylist, so I tend to really appreciate a stylist who can basically do what needs to be done to fit my face and make me look all right based on some vague descriptions.
I think I said, «Shorter, but kind of long compared to how some men wear their hair,» and «a little longer over my forehead because of the weird way it grows there.»
And then she just went to work, and I’m 100% happy with the result. I scheduled my next cut right then.
Alanah was genuine and professional and friendly, and I think she’s the owner.

Alanah is amazing! I got a cut and color this weekend and it was so much better than I could have ever imagined. Alanah knows exactly what she is talking about and tells you all about products and tools that could help you. Full of wonderful hair advice. Hands down the best stylist I’ve experienced in Portland thus far.

I just got a cut/​colour from Alanah this week, and it is by far the best I have ever experienced! Everything about it reflects what we discussed, and compliments my face shape and skin tone beyond what I knew how to ask for. Not only friends and family have been making comments since my appointment, but total strangers (men & women) have been stopping me to make comments and wanting to know where I got that done!
Apart from the amazing results, my experience in the salon was great. Nattura manages to be cozy and professional in the same space. I felt vey welcome and valued for my entire appointment, and it was always clear what steps we were taking to achieve my hair goals.
I’ve been getting my hair professionally done for years, and Alanah’s warmth and professional approach made it very easy to rebook AND be excited for the next time.
