This place does not have any personal service. They flaunt themselves as a première billiard destination, but things are disorganized, and the personal service only seems to apply to regular customers. I would bypass portage altogether if you are looking to shoot pool or enjoy yourself.

If you get a chance to go to the Ball Room I highly recommend it. It’s a very family friendly atmosphere which is a bonus for me as I frequently like to bring my son there for dinner.
The cook they have is fantastic and makes some of the best deep fried cheese curds I’ve ever tasted. I highly recommend the portabella mushroom sandwich and the Kiss Shot Chicken. If you are feeling adventurous, ask the bar tender to make you a Portage Sunrise (they can make them without alcohol too).
Overall I would highly recommend the place.

First time customer and very impressed. Great menu with great prices. Food is excellent and the rum and coke I ordered was very yummy. Will definitely be returning in the future, perhaps for a game of pool

A cool place to have a drink or two and shoot some pool.
I’ve yet to try their food, but as a hang-​out it’s worth checking out if you’ve got some time to kill in Portage. I imagine it’d be a nice way to wind down after a night of skiing at Cascade.
For me, it was a chance to hook up with some old friends from my days as a Portage townie. It was a little bit of a pick-​me-​up in tough times, if I’m completely honest.
The tables are all functional, which is about the least you can ask. They do ball rental by the hour, but all the tables (I believe) are equipped to take coins/​bills if you just want to shoot a game or two.
They also occasionally do karaōke, which I was lucky enough to try for the first time with a little bit of beer and peer pressure. I did a duet of «Never Gonna Give You Up» by Rick Astley (that’s right, I rickrolled the bar). Food is excellent — cooked fresh and to order. Staff is pleasant and attentive. TVs with different games on to accommodate many. Great atmosphere, both for adults and children. It’s our favorite place to eat in Portage!

This place surprised me. The food was well priced and outstanding. Try the sweet chilie wings (you won’t be disappointed.) drinks were fun and modern. The staff was friendly and attentive. We didn’t play, so I can’t speak to the tables (it’s also a pool hall.) Seems family friendly.
