Macy’s

When we think of Macy’s, we usually think of a high end department store that carries reputable brands, but our recent trip to Macy’s left us incredibly disappointed.
First I did our shopping online, and confirmed that the items we wanted were available in the store. Macy’s website assured me we would have no issues.
When we arrived at Macy’s the store felt old. I understand that department stores age, but daily cleaning and stock organization can do wonders for a space and Macy’s is not keeping up. Their space looked and felt dirty.
The woman who attempted to help us was polite, but she was obviously overwhelmed. There were two women working the floor, trying to answer questions for everyone who approached, so we were interrupted four times in just a few minutes.
On top of everything Macy’s website was wrong and they did not have in store what we needed. It wasn’t a size issue either, they didn’t even have the brand in the store. We were told we could buy a different brand we did not want or we could order the brand we wanted online. Very helpful. /​s
We left feeling unpleasant. I considered if we would have felt different if Macy’s would have had what we needed, but I really think our disappoint would remain. Macy’s need to clean up their act.

We went to Macy’s this weekend to look at purses and handbags. We went up to the Coach counter and the girl behind the counter looked at us and walked away. She didn’t even acknowledge our existence. I had to move around the counter to block her from leaving. I asked to see a purse that was locked up — she didn’t say a thing. NOTHING. She did show us the purse but looked bored and she didn’t want to help us. We asked to see another Coach purse and she did show us the purse — still not saying a word. We purchased the Coach purse and spent a lot of money at Macy’s. I have never had a store clerk at Macy’s that rude. Unfortunately, that was the only place close that sold that particular purse. If there was another store, I would have immediately left the area. We were there On May 4^th. She was a young, blonde clerk.
