Door FAILURE
I am very sad to say I will not be using Hannapel’s service in the future. After having several relatively good experiences replacing all our windows, a couple of door on various occasions, they have forced me to terminate our relationship due to their failure to accept responsibility for a significant front door failure.
Because I have provided them past business on several occasions well in excess of $ 20k I wrongly thought I would receive service they would stand behind. Unfortunately after spending over $ 6.6k I was proven wrong. We decided the Therma-​Tru fiberglass wood door would look best for us. We had to pay $ 600 extra for a wood frame but it was worth it to have the frame stained to match the stained door. The problem came when our opening was slightly larger than standard. Hannapel told us they would have to widen the frame to accommodate the opening but it would not be noticeable. Long story short it was more than noticeable when the extensions came painted white in our $ 600 stained door frame. See pictures.
Now two parties could have prevented or managed this mistake. Therma-​Tru should have never looked at this product and sent it out to a customer. Disappointedly Hannapel took the «it’s not my problem» approach. Instead of holding the manufacturer responsible or trying to correct the situation Hannapel just threw their hands up providing no assistance or financial compensation. I could have just as easily ordered the exact door for about $ 1k less from Home Depot and received better service. Lesson learned.
