I don’t think think I would have noticed this place if my 4 year old to wouldn’t have wandered in. It is tiny. This place, despite the size is awesome. The tiny little necklace, trinket, and random cool stuff is great. One member of the party got help with creating a personalized necklace. My daughter got a couple of small rubber animals for less than a dollar. Another member of our group got the last missing scabby tile for a tile design she was working on. I got letters to spell my daughters name on a craft project I was working on. The woman running the place was odd, helpful, funny, and kind. Just my kind of shopkeeper. Find this oddity and support it.

I have known Gary for years beyond counting. and I have seen the Heart that Gary puts into every piece he makes… I have rarely seen such a natural Artist. He came into my store in Denver many years ago and wanted me to fix a piece of jewelry for him. Having seen his work previously I told him“No! You do it yourself!” So he sat down at my jeweler’s bench and… he did it! :) If you are looking for Native Art that will truly speak to you… THIS is the place to get it!

A tiny slip of a store that’s still a bit of a secret in Port Townsend. You’ll walk by in a second unless you stop to admire their flower arrangement. On my last visit I went in to pick up two drums of elk hide that were handmade by the owner, Gary. Gary is a soft-spoken and gentle man and a member of the Lakota Tribe. His Native American art is beautiful and many layered. Last year we purchased a piece of his called«Pony Soldier» that brought together a Betsy Ross Flag, a skull from a pony that had been killed locally by a cougar, indigenous symbology in earth paints, feathers, a coyote hide and a pair of leather fringed sabers. This art piece has a strong component of medicine, intended by Gary to encourage healing of the soul. His work is underpriced and I go in there regularly to see what he has created. You will also find dream catchers made with local elements, vintage wool blankets, hand-made ladders, velvet slippers, steam-punk accessories and lots of beads, including authentic trade beads, beads made by Monks, beads carved from semi-precious stones and beads that range from vintage to truly antique. Hannah, the other owner, has an eye for items that were made with love and spiritual intention. I recently put a downpayment on a string of fire opals, antique Afghan silver charms, some of the beads made by monks(midnight blue with gold flecks), and assorted other beads that are incredibly beautiful. Their prices are more than reasonable. If you love Native American art, beautiful beads and unusual home goods, this store is for you. Take your time looking at the small inventory and ask questions because every item has a history.
