Recently dined here with some family for the first time. I have been to similar restaurants like Kobe and Benihana… didn’t do hibachi though here… sat at a regular table… THEGOOD… –server was nice –menu had a pretty good variety –seaweed salad was good(no filler which it’s rare and a big plus!) –dragon and mantauk rolls were ok –prices were reasonable –shumai was good –takes reservations THEBAD… –took a bit for server to greet table –server never asked for drink order… we had to offer it –if they are busy parking can be a bit of a pain –no iced green tea available Overall, pretty average sushi fare here. I’ve had pretty awesome sushi and rolls in my travels and there really wasn’t anything extraordinary or that memorable here. This is not a bad choice though. Hibachi may be a better option…

My son and I both ordered udon soup. When the smoldering hot cauldrons arrived the server struggled to get the metal bowls on our table without scolding herself. When the steam finally subsided enough to keep the skin on my tongue I gave it a try. I then experienced the most bland«soup» I’ve ever tasted. I think I know the recipe of you’re interested: Water, a tofu cube and table spoon of vegetable oil. By this point the chicken was like little pieces of hard rubber. Keeping chicken in a pot of near boiling water… I mean«broth» tends to have that effect. After attempting to salvage the situation with a generous amount of salt and soy sauce my son offered me some of the ice cubes he requested to cool mine down more. I wasn’t about to dilute this any more after I finally infused some flavor. I don’t know how something like this is being served. Maybe the cook already seared his taste buds off from trying his«soup.» I know mine are. The sushi rolls are quite good. If you find yourself here, order from the sushi bar.

Very good. The Japanese I ever had and I have been all over. Excellent fried rice. Shrimp were large and tasty. I will definitely return. We enjoyed!

This was my first time here and most likely my last. The wait at the front wasn’t bad for a Saturday night. Took about 30 mins. Place looked clean but had limited seating near the host station. Once we were seated, that’s when the rest of the night was disappointing. The waiter did his part but we waited about 30 mins for the cook to come to our station after salad and soup. This was not his fault since at most they had were three cooks. His show and cooking skills were avg.(at best). Besides rotating his fork around a couple of times and a flame, that was about it for the show. As for the food, below average. The price was fair, but the taste was plain. A little salt and pepper would have gone a long way. My wife and I spilt(which cost us extra $ 5 to spilt even though the meal was $ 35) the filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp. So, after writing this review, I’ve changed my mind, I’m not going back.

Sushi was great, chicken teriyaki was ok, service was a little slow however for 1 girl handling the entire sushi area, overall not bad. New to the area, Queens NY girl so considering that competition 3 stars out of 5. Will come back after sampling some others.

The Volcano Rolls were phenomenal! We Sat near the sushi bar, the food was great! Would have given 5 stars, but the server was very annoying. She kept trying to take our plates when we weren’t done yet, had half an order left of our sushi and she tried to take it bc our salads were ready. We had to pretty much hold our plates down everytime she came to the table, about every 5 mins. They weren’t very busy, but I’m sure there were other things she could have found to do besides stalk our table! Lol

Hands down the best around! True Japanese atmosphere and the cooks are of Asian decent. Much better than Beni-Hana. We have never been displeased. We typically sit at Hibachi grills but there is a small area with regular seating. The bar does not disappoint with nice pours and great service. I must say the dressings that come with the Hibachi dinner are a must try! Again, way better than Beni-Hana.

I had Sex on the Beach and it was delicious! My husband got a bento box with teriyaki salmon and shrimp, it was very well cooked and seasoned. I got the roll combo and I liked all of them but they were kinda small. Overall, it was really good!

The hostess sat us pretty quickly, but we felt like she had an attitude. The server we had was extremely creepy and kept rushing us. The soup had no flavor and was extremely hot. The salad was really good, but small. I had the steak which was really juicy and had a lot of flavor to it(tasted better than the filet mignon), the chicken fried rice was pretty good as well. The chef we had was really good very interactive and friendly!

Went here for lunch the other day. The place has a really nice atmosphere and the service was friendly and fast. Ordered miso soup, gyoza and two maki rolls(salmon skin and philly roll.) The soup and gyoza were plain… nothing special. The rolls were priced average with what I’ve paid before but they were really small and not very good at all. The philly roll was bland and the salmon skin was so chewy that it was difficult for me to eat. I’ve heard the hibachi is good, but I doubt we will be going back.

Been coming here for years. Always enjoyable. Order the lobster, Filet Mignon, and Chicken. I find it funny that one reviewer feels $ 150 for 5 people was expensive for a hibachi restaurant. I pay the same for three people and don’t expect freebies.

We frequent this restaurant at least 1 – 3 times a month(much closer than fighting traffic to get to Benihanna’s in Stuart)! We used to go only for special occasions, but the whole family loves the food here so it has becomeone of our go-to spots ! The only thing, some chefs do cook the rice blandly, other than that, we have never had a bad meal here or bad service! Ben, one of the newer chefs is the best!!! Too bad when you make your reservation you cant request the chef you want LOL! Love this place though, have been coming here since they first opened and will continue to :)

Our new favorite place to eat. Food is plentiful and seasoning is on spot. Service was excellent. Chef was very instrumental in making the meal extremely enjoyable. Definitely a place to try!

Couple of things; Considering the bill was over 150 dollars for 5 people to eat Hibachi, I would think that they would offer at least a little complimentary dessert, but no nothing! I have eaten at many Hibachi spots across the nation and they always offer free dessert, ice cream whatever seeing how your paying 25 bucks for a meal I would think this was a no brainer, but I am pretty dissapointed. Quality was okay at best, rice lacked flavor, soup literally had one piece of mushroom swimming around, I probably will not be returning.

From the koi pond at the entrance to the overall peaceful ambience of the place, this somewhat pricey Japanese restaurant deserves a visit. Went there for the first time two nights ago. They offer booth seating and also Benihana-style hibachi, which is what we chose. Having cut my teeth at Benihana in midtown Manhattan years ago, I have to say that it was a bit surprising but comforting to find that our hibachi chef was actually Japanese, unlike Benihana in Stuart where the chefs were Spanish, likely Mexican. That was a bit strange, but they seemed well trained and did a good job. But back to Hokkaido, our chef was entertaining, fast and efficient and the food was excellently prepared. We are definitely going back sometime, although it will likely be for an «occasion» or a «special night out» due to the price. But the food was so delicious it was worth it, no doubt!

Hokkaido Sushi ranks right up there with the Japanese restaurants I’ve come to love. The fact that this is in Florida(I’m from NYC) makes this an even nicer surprise. In an area where chain restaurants abound(and I mean the sorts like Friendly’s, Chili’s, Applebee’s…) this is a real gem. Yes, I know Hokkaido is a chain, my point is that Japanese cuisine stands out and they do a nice job of it. Pro’s: The service is just fine — and friendly. It’s a clean and well-maintained space. Seating at the hibachi tables is standard(along with the entertainment provided by the master chefs). I’ve had seating at both the regular tables and the hibachi seating. Either option is fine depending on your mood. The food is fresh! BIG plus. I’ve had their sushi(the tuna roll was fab!) and shumai as well as the hibachi shrimp. They make their fried rice a little different than in NYC restaurants, but they were accommodating when I requested substitutions(I don’t eat meat so they withheld the chicken in my fried rice). Con’s: It’s pricey — especially compared to New York standards. However, I do think it’s worthwhile.

This was suggested to me by a friend who lives in Port Saint Lucie so my crew and I decided to check this place out. We were seated and had a male server who was rude and impatient with us at first but later, his attitude changed because another server overheard my crew talking about his rudeness. When we asked to substitute all of our rice for brown rice even for the fried rice part, he looked at us as if we were talking in another language and the only response he could say to us was, «No, we don’t do that here» and the moment we were seated, we were asked what drinks we wanted and it just felt we were rushed into ordering things right away because it wasn’t like we walked in 2 minutes before the kitchen was preparing to close. In my opinion, the server training of asking customer questions are so robot-esque; I don’t like that. I want to be able to be comfortable and talk to another being regardless what occupation s/he is. The salad and sushi rolls were not spectacular in taste nor appearance. Their clear soup is literally a ‘clear’ soup which is actually quite amusing considering many Asian restaurants I have been to state they serve clear soup but when it is brought out to the table, it’s not clear at all. Though the teppan chef and his performance was fantabulous! With a humorous personality, he flips cooked shrimp and attempts to land it on your face, pees on the teppan table to put out a fire, and squirts sauce on your clothes. We were filled with smiles and laughs. My crew and I ordered brown fried rice which tasted really great and the combination dinners; medium steak, medium-rare filet mignon, shrimp, and chicken. I skimmed past reviews. I have not been to Benihana yet so I cannot compare but similar places I can compare is PGA Saito’s and I must say, by the performance and service standards, I lean more towards this place because of all the times i have gone to Saito’s it is always a hit and miss. Overall, mediocre service but look forward to the teppan chef, his performance, and the delicious food!
