Excellent burgers. Interesting variety. I went for the build your own and it was delicious. The beer selection is great too and they give you samples to choose what you’d like. The experience is a significant part of the appeal. Great casual environment, friendly no fluff service, reasonable pricing for a quality American food experience.
One thing particularly impressive to us: We were with friends who are local. They ordered fried calamari that came out a bit over cooked. When asked by the server «how is it» my friend just honestly stated «it is over cooked but we’re not really complaining». They took it off the bill and apologized — agreeing that it was over cooked. That is good service. I’m amazed by the places I go who don’t understand the impact of good service. What a pleasant surprise to see a place that took service initiative without the customer having to be rude about it.
Fat Patties is a new local fav in my book. We’ll definitely be back when we’re here again.

What a little gem this Port Royal restaurant is. It was the best place we ate down there.
Service: Fabulous. Answered questions easily. Gave suggestions. Prompt with drink refills. Checkednin more than twice. Couldn’t have been better.
Food: Superb. We ordered a lot of food because my mother, sister and myself were curious about the homemade menu. Spicy shrimp app was swimming in garlicky sauce. And it came with bread to soak it up. We each got a half and half burger patty. (Half beef/​half bacon) and indulged in different toppings. Mine had spicy pepperoni, fried mozzarella and robust pizza sauce with a well made bun. It was awesome. I drool when i think about it. The fries were dusted with parsley and parmesan, crispy and hot. We each had a different gelato for dessert. The coffee was sweet but bitter and silky smooth on the tongue.
Atmosphere: Its in an open garage and as it gets later it gets rowdy. Its a burger bar after all, so thats to be expected. It had a good use of space and the chairs were pretty comfy.
Im glad I used my app to find this place. So much better than the silly Golden Corral chains and what have you. When I go back to visit my marine cousin, I will be stopping by for a great burger and gelato.

Amazing service and the best burgers ever. The menu is efficient and the food is great. The open air atmosphere is what we enjoy the most. Gavigan Homes gives it a 10 Star must try when visiting. Again amazing service and staff

This place was good and the food was tasty. I thought it was a bit pricey for the amount of food you get, but the staff was friendly enough. The parking was a bit tight and awkward especially for trucks, but it worked out.

I would give this place 5 stars, but I was not a huge fan of their shrimp burger (which is apparently a low country thing). However, I felt compelled to try. There’s a vast array of beers to try on tap and by the bottle which was a huge plus. Also, you can order any style of burger with options being: turkey, shrimp, black bean, and beef – I just wished they had lamb as an option. Although, overall this place is fantastic – the person that created the menu is well informed when it comes to flavors. Also, if you check-​in using Unilocal you get a complimentary small cup of their handmade homemade cream. Ask for Jamie Lynne– she was an awesome waitress.

I have eaten in a lot of amazing places… this one is newly top of my list. The Customer service was exceptional. We literally overwhelmed them with 100 people coming for a Bravo Company Dinner. They weren’t stressed in anyway! It was a FUN environment, and the food was great. The FRIED OYSTERS were the best I have ever had! That remoulade sauce they oysters sat on was finger licking! We ended up ordering a second plate of oysters. The Shrimp Tacos were the BOMB! The Burgers were awesome too! Food was moderately priced, and clearly this was where the locals go… it is a must and if your recruit is graduating, consider getting them a burger and bringing it on the island for family day, it will be a real treat!

Great atmosphere and Great food! The South Carolina mustard sauce is AH-​MAZE-​ZING!!! You so have to try it on some wings if you haven’t already. Others in my party got the burgers and the portions looked huge so beware, it’s a lot of food.

Fantastic food and service. We had How You Doing beef, Over Easy beef, and Baby Blue shrimp. AND Key lime pie and cookies n cream homemade ice cream. Will be back!!!

I love to search out and try burger joints whether they be a hole in the wall or a classy burger boutique. So, I was excited to try Fat Patties. The atmosphere was fun with plenty of TVs to catch the game or whatever your deal happens to be. They have a good craft beer selection and great service provided at the bar. Both me and the husband ordered burgers. I went basic with the burger and bacon blend with the typical lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle option. The husband also got the bacon/​burger blend but went with the Holy Cow specialty burger with sausage gravy, fries, and onion.
The bacon/​burger blend is very salty and so are their fries, and if I say something is salty, it is really salty. The husband commented that his burger was also not cooked to order, with a pretty significant char on the bottom of the patty. My looked very red for medium well, but did not bleed, so I believe most of the red was due to the bacon/​beef blend.
The service was friendly, helpful, and efficient.
I would return to give this burger spot another try.

We also visited the one in bluffton and both are great burger places. Our new burger place! We had baby blue, shrimp, frenchie, agony all were great. The tater totes and fried rings were good also. I would recommend this place to brew and burgers

The atmosphere is awesome — great bar, great soccer pool for kids or adults. Awesome bar and sitting area. The food is horrible. We were there Saturday evening — Our wings were served ice cold. (I sent them back and asked them to be bagged as our burgers came out as I was sending the wings back — upon arriving home, the wings were burnt. (My guess is that wings are pre-​cooked and flashed cooked). Our burgers (beef and Turkey) came out less than warm. After we left the restaurant, my son (who had a beef burger) and myself (had the turkey burger) barely made it home in time as we spent the evening in and out of the bathroom.
I was there a few days earlier and was unimpressed with the food but I gave the place a 2^nd try and I was sick both times. (The first time I had a skinny burger that was barely cooked and since I ordered it medium rare — I blamed myself after I was sick all night). Now I know it wasn’t me.
Worst burgers I have ever had coupled with being sick both times (consumed different items on each visit).

Great service, amazing food. Military discount on Mondays, added bonus. The shrimp tacos were amazing!

I recently visited this restaurant. Both my husband & I had extremely undercooked burgers, they were mushy & not cooked & They forgot part of my order. My husband asked them to cook his burger a bit longer & they obliged. We were not fans of the seasoned fries. Service was friendly.
This was my first & only visit. We will not return unfortunately. I’m so disappointed essp because we live 2 min away.

Had our favorite shrimp tacos and hamburger. Food was not the quality it used to be. The staff was doing a lot of socializing and our server was less than attentive.
The owner contacted me regarding my review and I let him know what I witnessed. Not as an unhappy customer, but as business owner. I hate to see what is a great restaurant get bad reviews because of kitchen/​staff issues.

Delicious! Its our go to eating spot in Beaufort.
