Holiday Inn Express & Suites Port Richey

I had my father stay here while he was in town recently.
The staff here was absolutely lovely to him. I asked for a room near the elevator because he has trouble walking and they accommodated that without question. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, according to my father. The staff came up a couple of times to make sure he had everything he needed because they knew he had trouble walking. The AC worked just fine and so did the television. I could not have my father stay at my home because all the bedrooms are up a flight of stairs and he would not be able to make it up there. He was very comfortable in this hotel and asked that he be able to stay here the next time he makes a trip down here from New York. The price for his stay for a week was also very reasonable. He took advantage of the free breakfasts and the staff even offered for him to be seated while they got his breakfast for him.
Overall, my dad had a great experience there, which makes me a happy daughter.

Clean room, comfortable bed, AC worked great, and lots of space. Bathrooms need better light and the TV remote didn’t work very well but overall, this was a great place to stay for the money and I enjoyed it. All the staff that I dealt with were pleasant and helpful.

This hotel has taken full advantage of the season. Upon checking I was greeted very nicely and given my room. I had prepaid for business reasons. When I entered my room, it felt like the AC had been off, but only a fan on. I adjusted the thermostat, thinking it just wasn’t set. Wrong. I called the desk, and the manager came to the room. He immediately knew it wasn’t working, and immediately started offering points and such. My response was that I didn’t care about points, but would rather have a room with air conditioning. He let me know that they were full tonight, and because of my booking method, there wasn’t much he could do. I usually don’t stay at ihg properties, and this will seal the deal. By the way, I travel over 100 nights a year.

Went back to Florida and stayed her again this time for two nights. Has a great room clean quiet. Staff just as friendly as last time. The free breakfast is the best at any hotel I have ever stayed at, eggs, sausage, pancakes etc… It’s right off 19 and easy to find.

Good value and very decent hotel. The rooms are comfortable and bathrooms large enough to maneuver in. The staff is friendly and the breakfast was excellent (they even have a pancake machine). Prior to this I stayed at a 4 start Disney resort hotel and I must say that I enjoyed the comfort and genuine friendliness at this hotel more than the phony baloney employees (and cramped quarters) at Disney.

Staff reception was in the spot, clean, comfortable and quiet.
Heavy road construction in the area ¹⁰⁄₂₀₁₃.
Parking is not boat trailer friendly.
Would return and use hotel again.

I have stayed here three times while on business and have loved the room, staff, and pool every time without complaint. Apparently the regional manager has taken over since then to try and get the place to have bigger profit margins… This stay is a far cry from the previous three. The bathroom floor has dirty mop lines all over it and the toilet was definitely not clean… the pool is dirty as well. Also, they now charge extra for the use of a fridge and microwave. The staff are still awesome (and apologetic, i might add) but the management tactics are certainly NOT getting any more business from me or my colleagues. This is not how you turn a business around.
