Captain Devon Gaudin – Tampa Fishing Charters

I purchased a Groupon 4-​hr fishing trip for two with Captain Devon, and we really did have a great time out on the water on a sweet boat with awesome weather.
Everything that he had control of was in top shape:
–arrived early to the boat ramp to pick us up
–his boat was spotless clean (that is, until we got our dirty shoe prints all over it…)
–fishing poles were really well maintained and you can tell he cleans them off really good between uses
–nice live well full of fresh bait (shrimp, small pin fish); he even cast-​nets bait when it’s around
–clean coolers full of ice and water, but you can bring your own stuff if you want
–great communication when we had to reschedule our fishing trip a few times since the boat mechanic fixing up his boat took longer than expected (that’s out of his control, but the quick responses were awesome and really appreciated)
–a wide range of really ideal fishing spots that I know would be awesome if and when the fish are biting.
Unfortunately, the fish didn’t seem too hungry when we decided to go fishing. The first few hours were slow, but Devon kept bringing us to new spots to keep trying to see who wanted a bite to eat. I seriously have no doubts that those spots he took us to would be killer fishing areas on the right day. As we threw out our lines, Devon threw out extra lines for each of us to pick up if something hit it. Best part about this kind of fishing is that you don’t even have to hook your own bait!
My husband caught a small redfish and some nasty snakefish or something (that we ended up using as bait). With that bait, I caught a monster 32 in. snook! That was a super fun fight up to the boat, and Devon got some great pictures of it.
Nice man, sleek boat, and a good time. Plus with the Groupon, this charter is a steal. I would check it out if you’re looking for something different and fun to do!

Purchased a Groupon for me and my kids for Easter Sunday. We finally left after waiting at the dock for 2 ½ hours. We kept being told «he is getting bait». Riiiiight… he never showed up. Thank God Groupon refunded my money! We went to Clearwater and hopped on a reputable fishing charter that actually TOOK US FISHING! Novel idea,…perhaps Captain Devon should take notes.
Do not waste your money! I’m surprised to see that Groupon still allows him to advertise on their site.
