Had dinner there this evening, it was ok. The couple we were with whom are regulars always get the pizza, they had the thin crust with the works and loved it! I had the manicotti, it was ok. Didn’t really have much of a taste, it was a ricotta cheese filing and a marinara sauce with mozzarella cheese on top it was kinda bland. That’s saying a lot because I don’t like any spicy foods but this was just blah tasting. My hubby had the lasagna he said it was ok. The garlic rolls were really good. We decided to get some desserts to go. So we got a few different things. We tried the Italian wedding cookies which tasted good but we’re really hard. Next we got some of the small linzer cookies with raspberry jam filling, didn’t like these at all, they had a lingering black licorice aftertaste. We got a butter cookie with chocolate icing, didn’t like these either. They were really dry kinda reminded us of stale boxed cookies. My hubby loves eclairs so I got one of those for him, it was just nasty. The filing was not like your typical custard filing, it was clumpy and a odd color& texture, the chocolate icing was waxy tasting. It tasted like it was store bought & was really stale. The last dessert item we tried was the lobster claw, it was the best! The filling was soo good! We most likely won’t be going back unless our friends want to go. At least we know what not to try next time.

The dessert case is worth the trip alone. Service was great. Good Italian food. Watched the waitstaff closing up — did a thorough cleaning of the dining room.

Our third visit. Our last visit. Once was day before Valentine’s with a group. Most of us were happy with our food for the most part. One was comped for hers as they never got it right. Let some things slide as they were packed. Soups were not very good/salads so so. I got the Sicilian Ribeye //it was great. Hubby got pasta & after tasting my steak said he would get that next visit. A couple of weeks later took another couple there for dinner. Packed. Had to wait over an hour. Had good service after seated. Rolls were fabulous. All got the Sicilian Ribeye but one. He got all pastas. The soup was Pasta du Jour /it was ok. Two got salads. Nothing special about it. The steaks were fabulous. Upon leaving we got dessert to go to have at home with coffee. Mistake. Cannoli was weird /filling tasted like cheap ingredients used. Cookies were stale. Chocolate éclair was also strange. Fast forward to tonight. We decided to drive the hour. We wanted that great steak again even if dull starters, the steak was great both times. Server took our order — came back after 5 minutes. THEYWEREOUTOFSTEAK! I told her we drove an hour for that steak. We got menus again– she told us she told Mr. Argento about our drive & disappointment. He never came out to see us. Bummer. We ordered items and were so disappointed with our soup & salad. Veggie soup was like a beef bouillon was dropped in hot water & some frozen veggies added. Blah. Salad was dull. Our entrees were good, just not what we wanted. We ordered exact same sides of pasta. One was dry. Other swimming in olive oil. So — last time for us. We really wanted to support a non chain but not worth the trip.

Just moved to this town a few months ago and had kept passing by this restaurant and it was always full. Looked up the Unilocal ratings and everybody seems to be loving the restaurant. My daughter and I decided to look into it. We loved the décor going in. We looked at the menu and my daughter got the chicken parmigano and I got the veal parmesan sub. It’s been awhile since I’ve eaten veal but it didn’t seem fresh. Seemed processed, like Freezer Queen type. My daughter wasn’t even liking the chicken. It took forever to get our food too. I have really been disappointed with the restaurants in this town so far.

Delicious food… Good pastry selection reasonably priced. What I loved the most is the friendly people who work there. Bravo!

Nice Italian restaurant that does a tremendous business. We were there on a Friday night before 6:00 and watched a complete turn over of the tables. We shared a capri pizza since we were just not hungry enough for pasta and since we are staying in a hotel could not keep leftovers. Their pasta dishes looked/smelled wonderful and the portions were huge. Everyone seemed to be leaving with leftovers. Service was excellent, pizza arrived hot and delicious. Plenty of wait staff and all appear to know what they are doing. I certainly would return.

What a find!!! This family owned and operated Italian restaurant is wonderful. I took my wife there for her birthday. The staff was very friendly and prompt. Our sever Kim was right on the ball with service and food recommendations. The food is unbelievably good. Everything is made from scratch and delicious. We had the bruschetta bread to start. Kim served it with the homemade house bread and, as it turns out, that was enough for a meal alone. I had the breaded chicken topped with crab, asparagus and hollandaise sauce. It was delicious ! My wife had the veil Parmesan and she loved it. We also got cheese cake and death by chocolate cake to go. When they found out it was Lynn’s birthday they gave her a free cannoli. Like everything else the deserts were also made from scratch and very very good. All portions were large and we came home with plenty of left overs. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant :)

2 for 22:95 is a great deal. Fantastic white clam sauce – full of clams and flavor. Spicy shrimp Diablo. Excellent dessert choices. Highly recommended

This place has the potential to either be great or rather blah. Unfortunately our experience was on the blah side due to our server. There were at least 8 people on wait staff. Ours was obviously not the top dog. After the meal we were buying some baked goods up front and as we were mid order, the gal took a call and left us hanging. Had I not been getting things for a relative I would have just walked out then. That said, the food was tasty, and the other servers seemed more competent.

Best Italian food I have had since becoming a Floridian back in 2013. The food is as authentic as it can get. They have home made baked goodies that are awesome. Will definitely becoming back again.

The Capri pizza is the best! I am from NY so I am picky. Argento’s is consistently good. Nice atmosphere. Food made to order not frozen.

My family enjoys the capri pizza on routine dine-ins at Argentos. Servers are great. Raspberry Tea is always refreshing. Great hours, great food, great service and clean.

This was the second time we have eaten here. We were fortunate enough to have Mike as our waiter both times. The food and service is excellent. Portion sizes; well let’s just say 3 guest 3 boxes to take home. Coming from an Italian background I would recommend this restaurant to anyone; Wether it be a romantic night out or family gathering. Thanks again Mike for the excellent service!

Portions were very large, prices were good(compared to laces like Olive Garden), and the food was very good. Very home style. Mixed drinks were a tad expensive, but they don’t skimp on alcohol. Howe the dessert case wasn’t very good the tiramisu was dry(like the lady fingers weren’t soaked adequately) and the cannoli was too hard to bite into(ended up just eating the filling.

This place did not live up to the hype. It had so much potential and looked great walking in but it was such a disappointment. I ordered the chicken marsala which was very bland. The chicken was not browned, mushrooms were rubbery, and overall, the dish was not seasoned. My boyfriend had the manicotti which was overcooked and lacking flavor. For dessert, we tried the cannoli and the tiramisu. Wasn’t bad but definitely wasn’t as good as you’d expect from an Italian bakery. I’m originally from NY so I know my Italian food and this isn’t it. There are many more Italian restaurants in the area that are more authentic and serve better tasting food. Staff was friendly, atmosphere was nice but food was just plain boring.

This review is based on the new Argento’s location in New Port Richey, not their old location in Hudson. This is our favorite Italian restaurant in the area. We eat there very, very often, whether eating in or taking out. They serve delicious food. Delicioso. The new restaurant is very spacious, very clean and very well staffed. There is usually always a bit of a wait on the weekends, so be prepared to wait for just a little bit. In the interim, peruse their fresh baked goods in the display case at the front of the restaurant. Their bakery is simply delicious, filled with all sorts of fresh baked Italian pastries and old favorites like Neopolitan, Tiramisu, Cannolis, etc. They have delicious cookies and cakes. I am a sucker for their butter cookies with the big chocolate chips in it. I could easily eat a pound of them in a single sitting. The bakery is a little expensive, but it is quality bakery goods that are worth every penny. The appetizers are large enough to be entrees. They have fresh Bruschetta, a beautiful caprese, delicious calamari which is not rubbery like it is at many other places. They have a wide choice of soups and ensalada, nice fresh antipasto and rich, filling soups. They make a chicken noodle soup, Italian style, that would make a Jewish Grandmother blush(Hey! I’m a Jewish Grandmother! My chicken soup tastes nothing like this!). They have delicious bread sticks that they give you while waiting for your entrée that comes with a warm marinara sauce. As entrees go, they have a wide variety of pasta dishes, meat dishes, chicken dishes, nice fish dinners, etc. I am a fool for their mussels marinara while my husband loves their chicken dish with pasta that includes a white wine and oil sauce. The entrée’s are definitely big enough to share, but why share, when you can take your leftovers home and nom on them the next day! The desserts come from the bakery and they are all simply decadent and luscious. We absolutely love everything about this restaurant, including the staff and the owners. The average bill for a party of two is about $ 60 or so, nothing ludicrous. I held my husbands 40th birthday party in their back room which they use for dining but reserve for catering parties as well. We had 20 people with an open bar and everyone ordered a meal. The bill came to $ 500 which is extremely reasonable for that many people all eating full meals and ordering the occasional glass of wine. All the staff was very attentive. I also took my mom, who hates EVERYTHING that is not New York here and she actually had NO complaints. NONE. If you find yourself looking for great Italian food in Port Richey, definitely stop at Argento’s and you will be very content with your choice.
