The owners are a couple of dirty, lazy, smelly thieves. If you are here, I seriously recommend you get yourself tested for hepatitis. I loaned this business money to install an ATM and next thing I know, they are closing their doors and refusing to pay their debts. They have now lost a civil case on this matter and are wanted by the police. Please turn in these ‘people’ who willingly stole from a veteran.

Went here once on the way back from a camping trip and it was incredible. We’ve attempted to eat here many other times but can’t due to various reasons s. Out of food(weird), or equipment broken. Stopped by the other day and was closed due to both! Not gonna try anymore.

Yikes! We were in downtown Port Orchard, and wanted to get some coffee. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of options for coffee in downtown, Hideaway Café was the only place we saw. We went in and the place was visibly cluttered. The cashier wasn’t very friendly, and seemed put out/flustered to be helping us. We ordered two lattes, and my husband used the bathroom while I waited. It took FOREVER to get our lattes, and we were the only ones ordering. Clearly they didn’t have much experience making them. 15 minutes later we walked out with the lattes. As soon as we left my husband informed me there was no sink in the bathroom… no sink in the bathroom… gross. I took of a sip of the latte, and the milk was clearly sour. We both threw our completely full lattes away… and will definitely never go there again.

We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite near the waterfront in Port Orchard. We happened upon the Hideaway Café, which is a work in progress. It is a family operation, and is undergoing physical improvements over the next few months. Improvements sound like they will be done while the place is open. We had a gyro and a cheeseburger. Gyro was… OK. I rate Greek food based on the tzatziki. If you haven’t had real tzatziki, then it is hard to duplicate. It is the yogurt/garlic/dill/cucumber sauce used in Greek food. Their’s rates as OK. It was served with potato salad(not a traditional combination). The potato salad was a mild one with a mayo base. Another OK. Cheeseburger was good. It was nice to actually be able to taste the cheese(I had cheddar). Too often the only way you can tell that you are eating a «cheeseburger» is that there is a tasteless yellow layer. Baked beans were the side chosen. Good. Not spectacular, but good. They have breakfast available all day. May have to give that a try next time. It is worth checking them out for reasonable diner-type food.

Terrible service. Terrible food. One booth was covered with waitress crap. No one smiled. Cook playing cards. Gyro had 4 prices of meat and a salads worth of lettuce(shouldn’t be on gyro). Tasted straight from freezer. Had to ask for side of chips. Etc you get the picture. Never again

So apparently this place is under newish ownership. I did not experience it previously, but also did not hear good things about it. My friend and I went here for breakfast one morning while trying to kill some time. The breakfast was great! We both had breakfast sandwiches and were pleasantly surprised., although I would skip the home fries next time, too greasy, not enough flavor. And our meal was inexpensive, as breakfast should be! I refuse to pay $ 8+ for an omelet(ahem Myhre’s) that I could make better for a fraction of the cost! The staff here was very pleasant and eager to please. They also had a very nice deck, which we did not sit on due to the cold but looked very enjoyable.

Went for breakfast this morning. I had not been there since they first opened. I assume it is under new management since it was AWFUL! After being ignored for almost 15 min and watching people wait for their checks for just as long, we had to move tables because the smell of soda cans with cigarette butts was making me nauseous and the fly’s were killing me. Once we got the coffee we ordered, I noticed the cream expired 2 months past and came out chunky and then upon first sip, I noticed my cup was dirty. After 47 min the food finally arrived. People who arrived after us had gotten food and were done by now as well as got their drinks before us. Once out«food» arrived and we asked for silverware as well as again some water refills I was excited, we had just discussed canceling our order since we had already been there for over 47 min. My «pannini» was really a lightly toasted sandwich with American cheese under cooked scrambled eggs and a ton of bacon. I took a bite and it just tasted weird. I took a second bite to try to figure out what the flavor was. I have friend take a bite and he was intrigued as well. Then I tried to see if I could make it though the meal since I was STARVING!!! No can do. Odd metallic flavors in food are too much for me(almost like they need to clean the pannini maker) I asked to have it taken away. My friends biscuits were cold and gravy tasted strait from a can and mildly warm. The hash browns were cold as well. He too sent his back. Then… the owner came out to talk us and informed us that when he gets larger parties he pushed other tickets back and that he is not McDonalds and has a small kitchen. As food fell from his face and his shirt he told us to pay for our coffee and he would cover our meal. What it felt like he said was pay for the coffee and fuck off!!! He had no people skills and a bad attitude for someone who claims to be in the industry for 20 years! Then to add insult to it, they over charges us for coffee. It clearly says a cup of coffee $ 1 bottomless $ 1.79. I ordered a CUP of Coffee. I highly do not recommend this place and an truly shocked it is still there. I went to the bathroom and look in the«kitchen» there was no glove wearing as the server was putting sausage on a plate and it was a MESS!!! Off to make myself some breakfast!

Stopped in the Hideaway Café with my coworkers for lunch. One had been here before and talked about the gyro all week so we all followed him here. Not the best I have ever had but the lamb gyro was quite good. Great flavor and the sandwich had a beet flavored tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion to go with a big pita. Add a basket of crinkle cut fries for $ 10 total, not a bad lunch!

Classic country kitchen, no more, no less. Hearty breakfasts and lunches. New ownership. On a clear day, great view of the Olympic mountain range. Skillet breakfast’s hearty chunks of tasty meats were smothered under good gravy(though I wish it came with toast). Our companions, locals, love the homemade gyros sauce. Offers make-a-sandwich choices. Gets the fourth star because my wife liked the potato salad, and that’s says a lot — real mayo, moist potatoes, a classic.
