Called in to get a price on a spray tan and the lady put me on hold for 10 minutes. I called back and she tried to put me on hold again. I asked if I was gonna be put on a 10 min hold again for a question and she was very rude and said Yes I am with a customer! Just needed to ask a question and she blew me off.

The one star missing is for horrible lighting(specifically the Silverdale location) & the lack of in-room mirrors in the other kitsap country locations. I know that mirrors are a small thing and they do provide a large mirror for everyone to use. but I would love to see small personal mirrors and possibly personal lights in each room because I use the tanning stickers and nothing sucks more then to get undressed, apply your lotion, then put a minimal amount of clothing back on to leave your room to apply your sticker. then you have to rush back to beat your timer of 6 minutes. I have started to bring a small personal mirror to use when I don’t go to Silverdale, but for $ 70 a month(not including the cost of lotion and other tan accessories) I would think a small mirror would be standard. I have tanned for years at multiple other locations in Kitsap and I have to say this is my first experience where this small feature is not included.

My daughter and I have been meaning to write a post for weeks now, we always seems to be busy. Several months ago my daughter and I switched to Desert Sun after spending months at another local place in the area. We have to admit from day one, everyone was has been extremely professional, and cooperative. They are all very friendly and are always willing to answer any questions one might have. We have had the opportunity to use every bed in the center, we have even used the spray tan(NOSTREAKS!!). There are many other places in town that one could tan at, but we strongly suggest several things to consider when choosing your place to tan; CLEANESS: Oh they all say they wipe the beds, but we know from bad experience that is not the case. Desert Sun, takes the extra time to make sure each bed is well wiped down and the entire area is clean. FRIENDLY: Ok many places have the A team working certain shifts and many places put there C team in on weekends. We can honestly say that the entire crew at Desertt Tan-Port Orchard simply ROCK!!! even the new employees, always willing to help. My daughter– Ashlee and I also must single out Jennifer and Kirsti. All the employees are good, but these two go the extra mile, we have had first hand experience in dealing with them. So when you reading reviews, we want to encourage everyone to stop by and try this place out, you won’t be disappointed.

I frequent Desert Sun locations in the Greater Seattle area. While I appreciated how sweet the gal was, you could tell she was extremely overwhelmed and frazzled. She also did not inform me that the owners had recently replaced the bulbs in their 20min. beds and, even with getting out of the bed three minutes before my usual end time, I ended up burned. It’s a smaller location, but parking is ample and there isn’t a huge wait.

Bed tanning is good. Do not get a spray tan here! I had many streaks. Attendant left empty wipe container so I had to beat feet to get home to work on steaks. Ended up scrubbing whole thing off. This is what happens when you get a spray tan with a machine versus a person. Cali it up to experience.

After having a horrible experience with this location, I called and requested that I change my package to the silver level tanning beds because I was not a fan of the mystic tan and the results it gave me… the employee said I could not do that, and that I can only relinquish my mystic tans to the site, I asked«to you?» she answered«yes, to our site» which means what? I pay, you use? And she agreed! I asked to speak to a manager, they did not have one there, the employee said she would have her contact me either later that day, or the following day… I am still waiting, its been over a year later! Horrible customer service, horrible policies! UPDATE: The NEW manager contacted me and took care of the issue I had… She is wonderful! I told her I was just happy that she contacted me, but after over a yr of being ignored by the previous manager, she changed my tan package just like that! She explained to me her goal to have great customer service, and make DS a great place… she is what this place needs! Customer service goes a long way, and she is where it starts… I cant say thank you enough! I look forward to returning to this site! Thank you again!
