I am a regular customer at Difference and find them to have some of the best food In this area. My order is alwsys correct and the folks that work there are superb. I recommend this to anyone who asks if I know a good chinese restaurant and would recommend it to you as well. They are not over priced and you get plenty of great food

Very good Chinese food! I have eaten at almost every Chinese place in town, and this is my new favorite! I love the Orange chicken or beef, General Tsos chicken, the Mar Lar chicken. When you eat here, you can tell you are getting good quality chicken.

To be honest I had low expectations because of the area and lack of quality food options, I assumed this would be another South Daytona dud. Boy was I wrong! I’ve traveled everywhere and previously lived in California and I must say I actually very impressed with the food quality and cleanliness, it’s some of the best(Americanized) Chinese food I’ve ever had! The sautéed dry green beans are insanely tasty, and they even specially prepared me General Tso’s shrimp instead of chicken(I don’t eat chicken), which wasn’t on the menu, they were happy to accommodate me and it was divine! So far everything I’ve tried there gets a glowing review in quality and taste, and the delivery is rapid. I can see this becoming a habit for sure.

It is the best!!! On my way back to NY and really wanted good Chinese food. Their dishes are so good speaking as a Chinese came from China! They are that good! Before I left, I had to tell the owner how great the food was and I had to ask where were they from-Taiwan! Ah, no wonder!!!

This lady here was so rude, would not even let me use the restroom before placing my order, after a long day wanting some good food I just had to use the restroom and she refused. I walked out, will never return

Order chicken and prawn in chili garlic sauce along with some shrimp fried rice. The entrée was sour even though the sauce was chili garlic? There was a 10:1 vegetable to meat ratio. I barely saw any chicken or shrimp just a lot of vegetable. It doesn’t really justify the price since I paid 11.95 for that. The fried rice was stir fry with way too much soy sauce which made it a bit too salty for my liking.

The food was delicious! I had general tso’s chicken and chicken fried rice. The general tsos chicken was cooked perfectly and had an ample amount of sauce. My husband had orange chicken and shrimp fried rice which he was very impressed with. This is not your average Chinese restaurant. It has great quality and the staff is awesome. You will not be disappointed.

Pros: loved that they delivered right to our hotel room. It was such a treat after being in the sun all day to not have to venture out. Food arrived quickly and was piping hot. Really fresh egg drop soup: was delicious. Loved that there were two size options for entrees. Value for the food was good. Cons: the food overall wasn’t as great as we had hoped. It’s certainly better than standard buffet-Chinese food, but we may be spoiled by a great local place in Atlanta we frequent. The beef and broccoli was tasty and the Mongolian beef was good as well, but neither were overwhelming. The Mongolian beef was a little heavy on the onions and scallions and a bit light on the beef. Overall: if you’d like good Chinese food in Daytona, definitely give it a try, especially if you’d like it delivered to your door. However, if you’re looking for really amazing food, there are other options in the area that may be more pleasing.

I’m a Chinese American who has always lived in big cities where tons of good Chinese restaurants are easy to find. I moved to Florida not too long ago, and my experience with the local Chinese restaurants have been nothing but disappointing. It seems that all these restaurants use one sauce on all the dishes, regardless of what dish it is. Well imagine my surprise when I got a chance to try this one. All 5 dishes I ordered were very tasty, on par with the great Chinese restaurants in other big cities. The Mar Lar Chicken in particular was delicious. The Bean Curd Szechuan style and the Dry Sauteed String Bean lunch specials were also very tasty. This restaurant is also inexpensive, and the portions are generous. I think I just found my go-to local Chinese restaurant. I will be getting takeout or delivery from them at least once a week. You should too.

We are from Kentucky, but each time we visit Daytona, a trip to Difference is always on our list of places to eat. The folks that run the place are super-friendly and very accommodating. The food is prepared fresh when you order and is much better than the things you are used to finding on a buffet elsewhere. It is a ‘hole on the wall’, nestled in a small strip mall type of area, and was a little tricky to find the first trip — but it is always worth the drive.

Not all Chinese eateries are created equal. The Difference is clearly evident with this place. I had the chicken and prawns with chili garlic sauce and my wife had the chicken and broccoli. We also split a side of chicken lo mein. My mouth is watering thinking about it. The chili garlic sauce was awesome. Just the right amount of heat and flavor. The prawns were delicious and tasted pretty fresh. The lo mein was prefect. We’ll be back for sure!

Definitely a difference here from the usual Chinese takeout. We actually watched it being freshly prepared in front of us. We will absolutely be coming back again. Try the Mar Lar Chicken and fried wontons… mmmmmm.

I was really surprised by how good this place was. It looks like a typical greasy Chinese take-out, and it’s priced like one, but the food is tasty and fresh; the«difference» is definitely different. The dishes are not really creative; it’s typical Chinese-American fare. But there is some obvious pride and training in the food, which is just simply better than the rest. The place is whistle-clean. Location isn’t ideal, but maybe that makes it more special! Loved the food, and it’s cheap!

My new favorite Chinese Restaurant in the Daytona area. All the food is freshly made. The wonton soup is not from a can, it is obvious the wonton noodles are hand made. That is just the start of what is good about this place. The friend I was dining with likes hot food. His comment was«They know how to do hot right.»

Excellent food, a friendly staff, misleading by its location in a run down shopping strip. It is a restaurant, though it is the size of a tiny walk in take out joint. Costs a little bit more than your average take-out joint you, but the food is much better. Definitely worth a visit, and they do delivery for 3 bucks.

Read the reviews and wanted to try it out once. This place was in a shady looking complex in which we were the only one present! Ordered hot n sour soup, egg fried rice and green curry. All three were really really good. Spicy and with flavors. Would recommend someone to try it out and not to be bothered much about the location.

Being that this is my first trip to Daytona Beach wanted to try something other than a chain restaurant, we were craving some Chinese food and I saw that this restaurant had a lot of good reviews on Unilocal; let’s say I was not disappointed from stepping foot into Difference restaurant I could tell by the smell & the aroma that this was authentic Chinese food. Although we got there a little late Little closer to closing time all her food was nice and fresh I would recommend this place to anyone eggrolls excellent fried rice some of the best I’ve had on the East Coast, if I could give this restaurant 20 stars I would definitely coming back next time it might I’m in Daytona Beach!

This is the kind of place you give 5 stars to for lots of reasons, sometimes it’s not only about the food it’s the total package that gets them to the 5 star review. The location is in a dying strip mall that may survive if they can fill the empty store fronts with local businesses. There were a few national brands that didn’t survive like a Dollar Tree and a Save A Lot but the small guys seem to be holding on. Difference is a take out /eat in establishment ran by the most friendly people you’ll ever meet. I didn’t ask but it looks like the mother, father and son were working, the phone never stopped ringing and the wok never sat idle. This is as close as I’ve gotten to «home made» authentic Chinese cooking. This place was really clean and the kitchen was an open design so you could watch all the cooking I loved that about this place. I like it hot and I mean really hot not just spicy but in terms that is understood universally«Thai Hot» that’s how I ordered it and that’s how they made it. Of course I played it safe this was my first visit here so I opted for the sliced beef and broccoli, fried rice, an egg roll and wonton soup. It was all fantastic! I may have passed a dozen or so Chinese take out joints in route here and the next time I crave authentic Chinese I will make the drive again. I can’t wait to try sometime else from Difference :-)
