I love this place. The grape leaves are really good and lamb gyros are the best i have tasted in the local area. So happy i found it!

Went here for the first time with my husband and really enjoyed it. The place was small but clean and very friendly staff. The food was great and in big portions(we got platters). Came with greattt Greek salad, fries very good as other reviewers mentioned, and we will def be coming back. Only thing I wish was that they didn’t charge for pita and yogurt sauce for the table. I mean, it’s the equivalent of a bread basket at a diner or Italian bread when you get a dinner at a pizzeria.

Food is terrific! If you have someone that doesn’t like Greek food, they also make excellent burgers and fries.

Great little Greek place! Service is always attentive and personable, and their Greek salad with chicken is big enough to split with another person, and they don’t charge for that, unlike most restaurants!

Wish I could give no star. Trying to find a GOOD Greek spot in port Jeff area seems to be a difficult thing. Ordered two soups to go chicken lemon and spinach lentil. The chicken lemon looked like throw up. Had absolute no flavor and had pieces of dark meat chicken. Yuk. The spinach lentil looked more appetizing but unfortunately was lacking all flavor. To top that off, I asked for desert options. They offer tartufo and baklava. I asked if Them make the baklava there. She said yes. I asked again are you sure? Come to find out they don’t so I went with tartufo. Which was the only good thing at the restaurant. Never again this place

My wife and I love this place. Their falafel is pretty phenomenal and their salad dressing is great. Big portions! Before we became vegetarians we loved their gyros. Their staff is really friendly and accommodating.

I love the food here and visit often. We usually get take out and order the Gyro Platters although the soulvalki is delicious as well. The portions are very big so we always ask for extra Pita’s. I am usually hesitant in ordering and picking up but they have never disappointed. They are friendly and very accomodating. When picking up they always have a smile for you with your meal. As compared to other Greek Restaurants in the area Gilshar has the best food, service, as well as price. I recommend this place highly if you are looking for a good Greek meal that is reasonably priced

This place is BOMB! Gyro with tzatziki sauce is incredible, great portion for 8 $. for 14 $ you can get a heaping serving of rice and salad on the side

I usually go to this little greek place in Rocky Point but figured I’d give this place a shot. I ordered take out. I got a pork soulvlaki and lemon chicken soup. They asked how I wanted my pork cooked which seemed like a really strange question. I said medium figuring that was safe. The pork was like trying to eat leather. I’ve literally never had drier pork before. I asked for tsatziki sauce on the gyro but they said they only put it on the side. The sauce had a ton of dill and very little(if any cucumber) in it. The soup was terrible. The chicken wasn’t shredded. It seemed like it was put in a blender for a minute then dumped into the soup. And it didn’t taste anything like lemon. I also think it’s very strange to charge extra for orzo. Most places including it. My boyfriend got a gyro and it was OK. Nothing amazing but not bad. The staff was OK. The girl who took our order was kind of rude but at least they got the order right.

Not what I was expecting at all, the flavors, textures and variety in the food was lacking. For example, the Greek salad was mostly lettuce, barely any cucumbers, olives, etc. The falafel was not moist, but at the same time was crumbly. The lamb gyro was not even close to the quality and flavor of a city truck stand gyro. The price was also twice what you’d pay in the city. Would I patron this establishment again? Most likely not.

Surprisingly Delicious! Tucked away in the corner by the movie theater. Very small, unpretentious quarters. Huge business, though! Good soups, salads and beef gyros. Tasty chicken solvaki. Their rice pilaf is different, which equates to delish! Funny enough, best French fries too! It gets 4 stars from me b/c it has consistently good food, but I wish they would expand and put in proper seating for a more pleasant dining experience. Many people do take-out which creates a a lot of extra foot traffic and noise with additional ordering. Should that hold you back, certainly not, just be open minded for a NYC type of atmosphere!

Nothing bad I can say about this place. The service is excellent and the food, oh, to die for! We had purchased individual dishes, but the portions can feed two average people. We took home the leftovers and it was good for lunch the next day. The lamb kabob was okay, but the lamb thin sliced in a pita was KILLER!!! Definitely going back there again!!!

This is by far my favorite Greek place. I used to come here every Friday with my grandparents, so it holds some sentimental value as well. Their food is top notch, everything is fresh and served hot. They have a wide varity of Greek treats on the menu, but I have a hard time straying away from the delicious Greek salad. You may think it’s boring, but let me tell you… I’ve had it with filet mignon, with veal, and with chicken cutlet. The salad is topped with feta, freshly cut tomatoes and onions, a stuffed grape leave, and the dressing on top(or on the side if you request it). The salad could easily be shared by two, but who would want to share this?! I certainly do not. Along with the salad, I order hummus as an appitizer and hot seeded pitas to go along with it. If you’ve never had a hot seeded pita, you haven’t lived. They’re too good! The chicken lemon soup is also steller on a cold day or when you’re feeling a little under the weather. The prices are decent, definitely worth it for what you’re getting and the staff is always very nice. The owner often comes around to the tables to make sure everything is good. I love how they make you feel so comfortable while you’re there. The place is a little on the smaller side and does pack out on a Friday night, so get there before the movie crew does!

Just moved to PJS and been looking for a regular spot for a gyro sandwich and think I found one today. Fresh pita bread, gyro off the spindle and solid tzatziki… Definitely will be back!

First time here. I’m a vegetarian, so ordered the falafel sandwich. What can I say but it was perfect. Fresh ingredients, falafel was crisp, tahini was right on the money, service was great… I’ll definitely be back in the future.

I found this place a local gem. Wow. Such fresh ingredients and the flavors on the meats are on point. Authentic tasty goodness. The waitresses are very nice. The cooks are clean and neatly dressed. You get to see the food being cooked behind counter. The two men pacing and or sitting without eating seem intimidating but they are the owners I think. They walk in and out of the cooking area. Located right next to the affordable PJ cinemas. Don’t go for the décor, go for the amazing food. Your tastebuds will thank you. Your digestive system will love you.

I placed an order for pickup and everything was great. Sometimes, to go food is packed a little haphazard, but everything was packed and wrapped nicely. Food was great and the amount of food they gave us was enormous! I’ll definitely be returning for more. Side note: they don’t deliver, even though the Unilocal listing says they do.

Service excellent. Kabob over Greek salad amazing. Chicken tasted well seasoned with a good char on it. Gyro with two meats was delicious. Get both.
