I usually go to a CVS, Target(although maybe not here any more) or other similar place when I arrive at a site for business if I’m there for more than a day, to get my ‘fix’ of Gatorade, water, etc. This particular CVS was smallish, but the young kid(I’ll call him a kid, because I just turned 40, and anyone under 25 seems like a kid to me now) at the front was EXTREMELY helpful. I don’t know what it was, but he just had this really cool energy and vibe, and was very engaging once I started talking to him. He asked where I was from, and we shared some Kansas City banter, and he told me a little about the town — where to go, where not to go, where to avoid if you’re a non-drinker as I am(and he apparently was), etc etc. I was really impressed with him, as I have been with most of the folks I’ve met in Port Huron this week. Seems like a really nice, smallish town. Oh, and I found this really cool charging station ‘thingie’ in their ‘electronics aisle’, which was about 10′ long, but always seems to have some niche/cool stuff. The station plugs in with an AC adapter, and has 2 powered USB ports for charging whatever you wish, and in addition, 2 small tethered powered cords with included tips — ones that fit mini-USB, micro-USB, etc. So now I can put this by my bed, and charge my blackberry, iPhone, and Zune(yes, I am THAT nerdy) simultaneously. Only $ 24. Did I NEED it? No. But it’ll reduce some clutter on my bedside table, which just MIGHT win me some points with my wife. :)
