I always go to Vision World in Port Chester for my glasses. Never was unhappy with selection of frames or people who are working there. Very honest and helpfull sales person. I will definitely continue to go there. Love this store.

I went to vision world because people I know highly recommend this optical store. What a great experience I had buying glasses. Very professional and very sweet people working there. With their advice I picked out a gorgeous pair of glasses, I love them. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends and family. Thank you guys a lot.

Five stars for the doctor and ZERO stars for the eyeglass selection and older woman behind the counter who I will assume is the owner or store manager.
The woman tried to overcharge me and misinform me about my insurance coverage eligibility even after she spoke to my provider to verify. I then had to inform her that my coverage is for an exam for both glasses and contacts and not just glasses. Mind you, I watched this woman verify my coverage on the phone as I was waiting to be processed so I’m unclear on how she misunderstood what my full insurance coverage was after speaking to my provider.
Needless to say, I had my exam that day, ordered my contacts and paid what that woman told me was my copay. My gut told me the copay was incorrect but I just wanted to get out of there and go home to verify with my provider. When I got home I called my insurance provider and learned that I was overcharged so they called the store to fully explain my coverage and to tell them I was due a refund.
The moral of this story is that the woman doesn’t pay attention and must be used to dealing with a certain kind of clientele that might be clueless about their insurance coverage. I know what I pay for and I decided I won’t be going there again. The woman is also a bit obnoxious for a low budget establishment that doesn’t even carry high end designer eyewear so I’m not going to waste my time going there again.

I gave one star only because I couldn’t give 0 stars. The owner is extremely rude. They are pleasant when trying to pick out glasses, but once they have your money, don’t expect them to be polite at all. I will be filing a complaint with the administrators of my vision plan, as well as with the NYS Licensing board.
