Good food cook was nice place needs some updating. Wasn’t told refills cost extra on tea till we got the bill. Ridiculous.

Fantastic food and lots of it. Service was also great. Ate at the hibachi table. Would go back and recommend this restaurant.

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in town! From table food to sushi, the food is absolutely amazing! The soup and all sauces are made from scratch and are so delicious! I highly recommend either the filet mignon or salmon hibachi for table food, and the paradise roll or salmon sashimi from the sushi bar. Everything here is amazing, never a disappointment! They always make you feel like family!

Great place to eat. Fresh fish at the sushi bar. I prefer the thinner slices of sashimi versus the three thick slices from other places such as Blu or Kumo. I know there are no full Japanese on staff but at least they’re Asian whereas other Japanese restaurants have people of all races other than Japanese cooking the«authentic» food. If you can brave the spice. I would recommend the Spicy tuna, salmon, krab dish with an extra drop of hot over sushi rice. Not for the faint-hearted. Your mouth will burn but the taste is delicious — ask Nick, great sushi chef and conversationalist.

it was ok. food was very good. service was slow. server was not great. didnt get the order right. never came back to refill drinks. 3 of us had empty glasses and had to track down someone.. they actually charge for refills. we are new to this town but no where else we have been in florida charges for tea or soda refills. we had 27.00 worth of tea and soda on the bill because 3 of us needed a 2nd. would give it 2.5 stars if it let me.

I love Ichiban!!! This is one of the only places that I regularly go to, come rain or shine!!! They are like family to me, always super nice and fun! The food is amazing and you can get it hotter if you ask! Love it!!!

I love this place. Great sushi, friendly owners and staff, and attentive service. I never have to worry about my iced tea being refilled or being asked for feedback on my food or if there’s anything more that I need. It’s a good place for an informal date, the table food is fantastic for a family gathering, and it’s a comforting atmosphere. Their takeaway is prompt and thorough. They always include plenty of chopsticks and soy sauce to go.

Good food, bad service. Just left there and our server was rushing us to order-came back multiple times –rapid fire. Once we got our food. .she disappeared. If I spend my hard earned money to go out and enjoy myself I shouldn’t have to beg or hunt down the OTHER people that work in the restaurant for more Wasabi, water, etc. Especially if you stare to make eye contact with your server then they turn around and walk in the other direction. I will give credit where credit is due-I am a server so I AM critical but it was definitely not deserved here.

I came here for dinner one night randomly, and it was really yummy. I definitely recommend this place and will come back. But I cannot give it 5 stars because something I saw grossed me out. Food: We started out with two delicious hot miso soups which was saltier than normal but still delicious. I absolutely loved their seaweed salad(also just as delicious as everywhere), and I even got one to go. We then had pork shu mai and gyoza; and it was absolutely delicious even though it was fried andI expected it to be grilled or steamed. Had the tony roll which was good, the sauce was nice and spicy and the presentation was on point. We also ordered a tempura appetizer which was also good but that was a bit too much food. Service: The host/waitress lady was very sweet and the other waiter was also very friendly. The food came out fast and they did a good job on refilling drinks and making sure we are happy with our food. Atmosphere: Very cute and traditional. Love the lights and the little Japanese decors at the sushi bar. Why not 5 stars?: We sat down at the sushi bar and I grabbed two menus and a sushi sheet, and what do I noticed… Few tiny ants on the menus. Okay, I don’t think they have an ant problem but just those two/three tiny baby ants just kinda grossed me out. And there was a mosquito or two, I had about 5 bites on my arm and one on my foot.

This is NOT the only place in town to enjoy this type of food however, it is the best. It may not be some fancy restaurant grant it. but the family that owns it and the service you get ALONG with the amazing food is more than enough to keep so many going back. Mama San and her family really work hard at making this a relaxed, enjoyable experience and the food is more than great. I have been going there since 2004 and they ALWAYS make you feel welcome with open arms. I will not go anywhere else for that reason alone. If you want good food, amazing service and entertainment… go to Ichibans. You want pure authentic Japanese, go to Japan. :)

There is nothing really authentic about this place at all… its a bare bones teppanyaki place that is one of the only ones in town so people go to it if they feel like that. I personally have not enjoyed a meal in a loooong while there, so I just go to Amimoto if I must have Japanese food and am stuck in town. That being said, if you do go I highly recommend just sticking with the teppanyaki dinners since they are hard to do too wrong, but everything else is a far cry from what true Japanese food tastes like… so if you are used to other places you will not be satisfied at all. My friends all seem to enjoy this place though, and it is a good spot to take a group for dinner.
