5 Star Nails

I’ started going here about 3 months because they are open sundays. Never had a problem going and getting a pedi anywhere before. This past time when I took my nail polish off my nail now has a fungis. I will NEVER again get a pedi anywhere again I will be doing this at home. It is disgusting. The county needs to check this place for cleanliness. After reading the reviews on here it sounds like I am not the only one to have had this problem.

Two infections in my nails after a gel manicure here. Both nail beds were red, swollen and oozing pus.

A simple nail salon. It’s not a high end spa so keep that in mind. I come here every time I visit from Chicago and I am always particularly pleased with the pedicure! They really go to town on the bottoms of your feet leaving them soft and smooth! And they do not skimp on the leg and foot massage. Thank god because working in retail I NEEEEEED THAT. In fact it would be THE BEST pedicure I have ever gotten… Except… My only gripe is that the polish application isn’t perfect. I’m actually very good at applying my own polish so when I get a manicure I really expect the polish to be flawless. My second coat wasn’t perfectly lined up on top of my first coat. Meaning that the sides of the nail only had one coat particularly on my hands. But really only I can see that and I don’t care that much. $ 35 for a mani pedi. Completely fair.

Had I written this review a month or two ago, it would have gotten a four, if not a five star review. I was so happy with their service. My nails looked fabulous every single time I went.
Then about a month ago, things changed. The workers became a bit rude, nastier and the services provided were not as satisfying as they were when I first started. The pedicures went from Oh-​My-​Amazing to Eh. The fill-​ins I got now start to lift a few days after getting them done, and I don’t clean nearly as much as I use to. The owner & his wife were in a real bad mood last week, and I didn’t do anything to make that happen, so there was no reason to take it out on me.
In the service industry, especially when it comes to nail salons, this seems to be a pattern. They do a fabulous job the first few times, then they get lazy because they figure you are a regular and eh.
Well 5-​Star, your review would have matched your name had you not gone down the typical pattern path of all the others but you did. Consider changing your name to 3 Star nails, perhaps?
