Its fantastic to have a bar in the neighborhood, easy walk to get there and a short stumble home. The owner and his family are nice and involved in the community, hosting events and fundraisers when needed. There are a regular stop for weekend chain craws and bike runs on occasion.
Keep in mind that this is not some fancy martini bar, its a blue collar place, full of regulars. That doesn’t mean that strangers aren’t welcome, they are encouraged to come back often and bring more friends. It has gambling machines taking up a corner, and a full bar after closing time. 4 – 7 in the afternoon the place is packed with people stopping for a few before heading home for dinner. Its like Cheers, without the laugh track.

Been coming here off and on for 20 years, mostly during Ice fishing season, its a great place to park to fish Neilson’s Channel and then to come in and warm up from the cold Wayne makes a hell of a Grilled Cheese sandwich. It also a great place to bring the Boat for a quick Beer on a Sunday afternoon, during high water season otherwise you will be churning up nothing but mud. Everyone always been friendly here

More than a year later, Herman’s is still awesome. I guess Wayne had some health issues so he is no longer around the bar and his family seems to be running the place. It has improved a lot. They now have video slots and karaōke weekly. Along with lots of daily specials and events around the holidays. They have a larger selection of craft beers and pints too. Still good prices, not as good as they used to be, but it’s worth the extra money for a better experience.

Nice little shit hole bar. Hamms and PBR cans regularly. Good time but the owner (the fat prick on the stool, rear right,)is kind of a dick. If you go here, drink your beers, tip your bartender, and head for ‘zee hills. Not a good place to party for an extended period of time. However, if you like to argue and love heartburn, stay and talk to the owner, he’s a real genius. Haha
