We met my wife’s family their this evening. Twenty one(21) people in all including 7 children 10 and under. They had no French fries. Come on… Kids eat here all the time and most eat chicken and French fries. The food overall was HORRIBLE the chicken fried chicken had inedible crust and some hard spots on the chicken. The carrots were rubbery on the outside and seemed uncooked in the center. My wife had the fish and it had a strange taste and a few hard spots on bottom. The mashed potatoes had the consistency of play-doh. Luckily my in-laws paid for the meal. I would have demanded a refund. My six year old had chicken strips and he was only able to eat half the chicken because of hard spots. The mac and cheese… I didn’t know you could ruin it. No amount of salt or pepper could save it. The rolls and the garlic bread could have been used as a hammer to chip apart the chicken. We had to ask for new rolls for half the table. I now know why I choose not to eat at Luby’s on a weekly basis since I work less 5 minutes down the road.

Good variety of food at reasonable prices. Sometimes a little bland. Breakfast buffet is also available and is pretty good for the price. Excellent pies and rolls.

We got there at 12:30 you would think the food would be fresh! Dried up fried fish, watery Mac and cheese, roast beef full of fat and poorly cut(please train staff on the art of carving), smashed rolls, and watered down ranch dressing. Not sure if we will be back.

Luby’s is one of my childhood favorites. Its cafeteria style. My go to meal is the oven fried cod plank with macaroni and cheese and corn. They have THE best yeast rolls in the world. They are like little buttery pillows of goodness. Yes I just said that! I even bought the Luby’s cook book for the mac ‘n cheese recipe when I moved away. When I go home I always hit this up.
