Delicious gelato and coffee. Staff very friendly and good atmosphere. A very affordable option in Port A but worth the trip. Will definitely be back!

Loved it! Dogs couldn’t go inside(expected) but they have outdoor chairs and little tables. They gave my dogs treats and were very friendly! I had the breakfast croissant and a «big train» blended coffee! Both were amazing!

This is a great coffee place, as good as anything you would find in Austin or Dallas. Coffee is great, as is their hot chocolate, and their service is great.

Wow. the barista was such a snob! I hope all the employees don’t have such a complex. Its a good thing the coffee was delicious. Try at your own risk.

Perfect evening at the beach– gelato and live music. We love this place. The gelato is so yummy! We come here everyday we are in town. It is now a family tradition!

This place makes me so happy! Fantastic Pumpkin Spice Latte and Café Mocha. The atmosphere is exactly what I was hoping for! As soon as I walked in, I didn’t want to leave.

You have to love a local coffee house. This laid back place doesn’t really seem to fit Port Aransas, in a good way. The moment you step inside the dark and inviting space, you can tell they’re wanting to create a relaxing, local space, and not pander to tourists(though it’s full of them). The coffee is their own blend, and the espresso has a light, woody flavor with caramel notes — fantastic latte, best I’ve had in years. They have sandwiches and pastries, and smoothies and Gelato — didn’t try any but we’ll be back. Don’t miss Coffee Waves… I sat down and didn’t want to leave.

Got the iced mocha. Nice way to cool off, but the coffee wasn’t anything special. The coffee is a bit over priced. Nice service. Great environment with plenty of comfortable seating to choose from. The atmosphere is very relaxing. WiFi is a little sketchy at times. Had to reconnect after getting a weak signal for a little bit. Other than that, no problems. Haven’t tried the gelato but am looking forward to trying. Don’t like that they have a two sample maximum for trying flavors. White chocolate raspberry scone was nice.

Good coffee, and even better service. The young lady at the register today(missed a name tag, petite with a cheerful smile), was helpful, and friendly. She explained what they had and what I was getting. This place has all kinds of comfortable spaces to sit and use the WiFi if you don’t have any at your place of stay. Being from Washington State I know good espresso, and it was very flavorful. Looking forward to coming back for Gelato. I can’t understand comments about«elitist» or «hipster» attitudes. There was no elitist attitude, and what good coffee shop isn’t hipster? SMH.

First off, they were out of breakfast sandwiches because they were still unpacking boxes of food? What? Don’t open for business unless you’re ready. Second, bagel was overpriced and some generic, gross grocery store bagel. Third, coffee drink was sickeningly sweet and undrinkable. I asked them to put another shot of espresso in which they did at no charge, but it was not good and overpriced. I can only imagine this place is popular because there are no other places in this tiny town to get good coffee.

Came to Port-A on vacation and stopped here for a coffee. Very cute spot! It has a great laid back, beach vibe. The coffee was so delicious. I got the«shot in the dark».(House coffee and a shot of espresso). I’m typically a starbucks lover and this place blows starbucks out of the water!!! They also have sandwiches(they have boars head meat) and bakery items. If you have a sweet tooth, they have gelato too! The staff is really friendly and I would definitely recommend this place.

Ok. first… if you go there for Breakfast & a Coffee… get there early! It does get crowded and the line starts at 7am. So you can imagine how good the coffee and breakfast sandwiches are. The Breakfast Pani(Ham, Egg & Cheese on a buttery croissant) just melts in your mouth and hits the spot!!! We can complain about the Coffee either. This is our second trip the Coffee Waves, the first was last summer for the Gelato, for which is OUTSTANDING… After being stationed in Naples Italy and Germany several years of my Military career, this is by far the closest to the Gelato we had in Naples. Its smooth, fresh and very tasty. By FAR better then any Ice Cream in Port A. The interior of the shop is like everybody says… «Like walking into a chocolate candy bar». The walls are decorated with local artist paintings and art work. I have not been when there is Live music, but I hear its great to sit and sip a coffee while listing to. If you’re ever in Port A. this is a must to stop in at and grab a Gelato, coffee or small snack. Pros: Best Gelato, coffee and quick breakfast in town Cons: they are pretty pricey but everything is more expensive on the island and I would rather contribute to a local business then a fast food company.

This place is wicked cool. When you walk in this place it’s like walking inside a giant chocolate candy bar. The whole place is painted dark chocolate with textured walls! It’s like the whole place is made of dark chocolate. If you were to go to this place stoned you would want to eat the walls. It’s a big chocolate house that also has a gelato bar & coffee bar that makes a freakin mean Mexican coco & perfect cappuccinos. Every morning we went they remembered us & how we liked our coffee exactly! Even when we went thru the drive-thru! :)) Then one morning we ordered the hot croissant with the boars head ham & cheddar. OMG! We had to have one every morning after that! :)… It’s like the croissant had a flat! But then this gooey yummy cheddar starts oozing out & this ham is hot Yummyliciousness squashed into a croissant panini like breakfast sammy doughnut. It looks like they ran it over with a bus. Its a croissanini! & it’s freakin amazballs! Forget the coffee go for the croissanini! I miss you croissanini! I will be back to eat your flat ass again soon! LOL :)’

Every time we are down here at the coast we pay these guys a little visit to get our java jump start. The gals are always so sweet & helpful. They even gave my doggies treats this mornin! Iced white mocha is on point as well as the egg/cheese buttery crossiant… Comes w/ham but I’m one of those annoying vegetarians… They accommodated w/a smile! The day is going to be good. Cheers! ****bathrooms aren’t great******

Would love to have given a review since I frequent CW in Corpus, but after having dinner in Port Aransas, we did some sightseeing around town, then stopped at Coffee Waves a good 40 minutes before they were due to close(at midnight), & though the sign still said open, the door was locked! There were still employees within, but the chairs were all up on the tables & they were clearly WELL into the motions of closing(prob SEVERAL minutes before our arrival). That’s NOT cool, IMHO. The advertised hours a business states they’re open until should be honoured. Bad form, Coffee Waves. I’ll pass this on…
