I love crab legs but those Dungeness crabs are to die for. I’ve been to Baltimore Harbor for the crab & lobster festival, I would love to attend a festival for this as well. Does anyone know when will there be a festival at the harbor 2016?

Crabby wabby fun! Yummmmm. This was one of those really fun-fest that involve food, wine and fun! I went few days after I came back into the country from month long summer travels. Super jet legged, sort of hung over(Oktokber fest, Germany) but basically wanted to get away. The ferry was very pretty and didn’t take long. Really wasn’t sure what to expect. But it exceeded that no expectation and high expectation both. Once you get into town, you will see the festival right there on your right. Park your car and dive right in. They had many stalls outside with food places(a dozen plus?) but sadly, we didn’t see any of them. We went into the big Crab tent and well, never came out till 11 pm!!! And we got there around 3 pm! Talk about fun. Inside the massive tent, you have communal tables and different food stations. They have 1. Dungeness crab station!!! $ 29 for a whole crab, $ 15 for half. You can say it’s super pricey but it was good. 2. Taylor Shellfish!!! Ahhh my fav person from Taylor shellfish was there as well. You’ve got to get oysters. You just got to. They were around $ 1 each. Super tasty! I even got several free ones cause they recognized me from their cap hill location. Being loyal pays off sometimes :) 3. Fish & chips– they have several fish & chips places with chowders, gumbos and such. I forgot the names of them but did try them. 4. Thai food stand– with crab rolls, crab fried rice! It’s all about them crab in here. 5. Dessert stand– all sorts of donuts and fried deesert. 6. Wine stand!!! Lots of wine, beer and cider! Yummmm. Of course, the second longest line next to the Crab stand. 7. Live band and fun people. We sat and ate our crabs, got dirty, messy in that semi enclose tent. It got pretty cold later on but that’s what wine is for. And we happened to sat next to these lovely older folks from Vancouver, Bc. They pretty much made my night. They bought me oysters, bottle of wine, gumbo, pies. I’ve never met such friendly and generous people. We took pictures, dine together and became fast friends. And they were all wicked cool. Kind of like my parents but way more fun :) Overall, I went in thinking to stay a few hours and ended up staying till midnight! Almost got talked into staying with the new friends but weren’t prepared to spend the night there. But I will this year! Looking forward to go back, eat lots of crab, make new friends and dance all over again.

This is my first time at the festival. I planned my trip to WA around this festival and the oyster festival. Needless to say that I’m a fan of seafood. We enjoyed the festival as the weather was just perfect. The forecast shows that it was going to rain so we were planning to forgo the festival all together. However, to our delight, as we approached Port Angles, the sun was out. I would say it was a small festival in comparison to other festivals throughout the country. I personally expected it to be bigger as after all, it’s the pacific northwest and they are know of seafood. We throughly enjoyed the Crab Derby. My two year old son enjoyed trying to catch the crab with his daddy’s help. If you catch a crab, you can then buy it for $ 14. This is a deal if you compare it to the ½ crab meal they sold in the main tent(it was $ 25). The only thing is that you don’t get the sides that goes with it. I was perfectly fine with that. However, if you get lucky and catch the«tagged» ones, it’s free. After our meal we walked around to check out the vendors… since it was a small festival, we were done walking around within 30 – 40 minutes. This gave us some time to drive up to the mountains while we were there.

This was our first time visiting the Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival. We got there around 4pm and could have gone through the whole thing within 30 minutes. There were lots of arts and craft stands and not enough food vendors. We spent most of our time talking to the Toyota Dealer displaying the new Prius. The HOT pies were quite good and the scenery off the pier was pretty. We had an okay time… just wished it was larger with more variety.
