Adventures Through Kayaking

I have used Adventures Through Kayaking for rentals a few times. They are always friendly and helpful. They have very reasonable prices! Great for anyone who wants to experience the bodies of water in the Pacific Northwest, but dont have the ability to have a kayak with them.

My husband and I did the full day adventure trip. I didn’t know what to expect at all. When we got there we got fitted for a wetsuit and booties. Boy, those were helpful and kept us warm as it was 60 degrees! They also gave us the dry bag which allowed me to take lots of pictures! We seriously had a picturesque day on the water. We had John as our guide and he was great! You take is slow along the caves/​cliffs which was super relaxing since kayaking gets very tiresome!
Then we came back to the site and had a sandwich for lunch as it is provided on the full day trip. We had Collin for the biking which was awesome because it was just me and my husband! He was very patient with me learning how to make those lovely switchback turns. The views were amazing, and again, we had perfect weather.
Lastly, we drank some of the wine next door! Bought a bottle to have with dinner :)
Thanks to all our guides and those who helped us at the shop. I forgot the girls name, but she was super sweet and patient with us as well :)

I sent my kids (age 23, 21, and 15) on a kayaking trip with Adventure Through Kayaking and they couldn’t say enough about how awesome it was they went to Freshwater Bay on the Strait of Juan de Fuca). When I booked the trip over the phone, the person who booked the trip was incredibly nice and gave me lots of info about what to expect, what clothes to wear, etc. My kids were totally prepped and had an incredible time and made life-​long memories sharing the experience together — just the kids on their own.
I’m planning to taking my wife in the next couple of weeks because we’re jealous after hearing their stories and seeing their pics!

First and foremost, we had a great time! My wife and I were celebrating our 50^th Birthdays and took the Northwest Adventure package (kayaking and mt biking)… we had a blast! The guides (Colin and Rusty) were great, laid back and patient with the 9 folks total in the group we were assigned to. They were informative and entertaining and made everyone feel welcome. They clearly stated that the two activities were suitable for beginners on up so I cannot complain about the level of difficulty… perhaps next time we’ll ask for a customized experience with a bit more challenge! :-D

A group of us took a trip to Crescent Lake and decided that we wanted to give kayaking a try. I have never kayaked before and Jared, our tour guide, has been super patient with us. He was very knowledgeable and easygoing. I would highly recommend ATK to all my friends.

Wonderful company, wonderful scenery. We did the half-​day guided kayaking with Jarrett, our knowledgeable, easy-​going, friendly guide, along the shores of Freshwater Bay. Everything from online reservation and payment system to the equipment to customer service in the shop was outstanding. And as ATK customers, we were offered (and took advantage of) free wine tasting at Harbinger Winery next door. It’s clear that Tammy and the rest of the staff really care about protecting and sharing the beauty of the Olympic Peninsula and making recreation accessible. We can’t wait to get back!

ATK did an amazing job on our ocean kayaking tour on April 9, 2015. We had 6 in our group ranging in age from 48 down to 17. Tammy (owner) was very accommodating and informative and she made sure that all of us were comfortable and properly equipped for the journey. Jarrett (guide) did an amazing job keeping us safe while allowing each of our skill levels enjoy the trip. He is extremely knowledgable about history of the area, the types of wildlife that you see and he knows the places to go see all types of wildlife.
We experienced river otter, bald eagles, numerous star fish, sea urchins, jelly fish, anemones, plus some amazing shoreline.
My entire family couldn’t have asked for anything more. ATK has been the highlight of our trip.

Great people. Great fun. Great prices. Kayak selection is really great as well. After our trip we even got to go wine tasting next door at harbinger winery.

We absolutely loved our tour! We could not recommend a nicer team of people to take you on their brilliant tours of the beautiful Olympic peninsula. I had never kayaked before and felt slightly uneasy that i would make a complete fool of myself; however they made me feel like a pro! Thanks again for such and amazing day out guys!

The half day tour of Freshwater Bay is fantastic. Our guide, Peter, was excellent. He told me he had a PhD. in Math, but his knowledge of plant life and animals was so great you could have sworn that he got a PhD. in marine biology. His propensity to eat different kinds of marine plants as he was explaining their various attributes was also very entertaining. He communicated his knowledge in a way that easy to understand even for the younger people that were also on the tour.

For my girlfriends birthday I rented two SUP’s from Tammi at ATK. Not only was the equipment perfect for us, total beginners, but Tammi could not have been more helpful. She talked us through technique, fitting and general use. She gave us a map with some options for places to go and we loaded the boards and left for our adventure. It was amazing. We went to Lake Crescent and paddled around for about 4-hours…all by ourselves. When we returned, Tammi debriefed us and informed us of classes and events.
I will probably end up buying boards… and cannot imagine a better place than ATK to spend my money.
