I contacted a well-known corporate artificial grass installation company for an estimate and their estimate was about 40% over what Muirfieldsports quoted so I talked to Muirfieldsports. I asked if I could see a lawn they had done locally and was given an address near the beach. I went and took a look at that lawn. I noticed it looked more like astroturf than like grass the other company had shown me. I told the owner I want a product that isn’t that shiny and doesn’t look like turf. He said no problem at all we have different colors and level of shine. He brought me three samples and I chose the darker sample. I put down a $ 6500 deposit. He cashed my deposit Sept. 3rd. He called me to tell me the original install date per the contract was going to be moved the following week as he wanted to do it all in one continuous install. I told him that is fine and works for me. The following week he called and said listen the weather looks kind of bad this week lets do it next week. I told him that’s fine. We agree to install it the following Monday. Monday comes around and I call him to see where he his and let him know my backgate is unlocked so he can come and do the install. He tells me sorry I am in Tampa and won’t be able to make it out there. The next day he calls me and tells me hey the color you wanted isn’t available and it is on a four week backorder. I politely and professionally tell him listen please return my deposit. He then tries to push the shiny product I wasn’t interested in on me. I tell him listen I appreciate your help and you driving out here to give me the estimate, you can keep $ 100 for gas and the time you spent bringing the samples but you didn’t deliver the product I wanted and I don’t have four weeks to wait for a product that you said was available. He cashed my deposit September 3rd. It is now October 24th and I pursuing legal avenues to ensure I get my$ 6500 back. If you are a provider of services to customers and you can’t deliver the product you promised why don’t you just help out the customer and return their money. KARMA will win in the end!
